Hey dude long time no see!

No mate I went out on a 50 foot launch fishing all weekend. Not sure when I will be back down on the strip again. My clutch is getting on over 1 1/2 years old and 20,000 kms. Usually paddle clutches don't last that long so got a good run with it.

I've long since gotten over the gold stars...they don't motivate like cash does :D

While you replace the clutch are you going to upgrade to a better one? or will that have to be replaced often too? speaking of clutches what would a factory GTR clutch run? I'd hate to see the prices on those expensive aftermarket ones.
 
I am way beyond the factory one's holding abilities. I'm running a 4 puck single plate paddle clutch with 2,400 lbs of clamp pressure. It is good to about 500hp which is just about where I'm at now. I can go to a twin plate but that will nearly double the price of it and won't be as nice to driving in stop and go traffic or nasty hill starts which we have a lot of here. I'll probably go with a slightly stronger pressure plate upgrade for now and the same clutch. might be able to squeeze another 80hp out of the rating.
My clutch all up is nearly $2k NZD or about $1k USD
 
wow just heard Nissan is recalling a heap of car! The R34 Skyline is on that list. It is for faulty crank angle sensors. Has that also hit other countries?
 
that means the NUR spec too....how would US owners get the parts? would nissan ship them here? I wonder what took em so long to figure out the problem?

lol, i saw a Mustang with a GTR badge on the side. some people...btw whats with having a silvia and a skyline club, not a general nissan club?
 
The Skyline is better, it deserves a thread of its own. Anyway WE started ours FIRST! :P lol. I plan on ripping that GTR mustang vid I have and uploading it for you guys. I just have to find a good divx editor.
 
I see a lot of non-skylines with the GTR badges on them. Make's me sick. Yet what makes me really hacked off is when Possers with non-GTR skylines not only put GTR kits on them then bloody hell badge them as such!
I've gotten pretty vocal with a few guys about it. Its gotten to the point now when I've been told I've got a nice kitted GTS-t or GTS GRRRRRRRR!!!!! That is about the time I tell them yea and lets race for slips. Needless to say haven't had one take me up on it yet.

I'm thinking about it aye. Don't know if my clutch will hold out or not but would be keen to see what the old girl will do again. It's been a while since I was down but honestly hoping for high 11's to a flat 12 right now. Can't afford to kill the clutch before the holidays right now. I'll talk with Robin and find out what he would charge for a new clutch in my can and go from there.

Ok people, I just got this off of MSN.com Auto's Coverage of the Tokyo Motor Show. So finally we can quit squabbling and debating what the new GTR will look like, and when it will be coming out.

"Nissan's Ghosn acknowledged the company's 400-horsepower, GT-R super car is taking quite a while to get to market. Noting an engineering bottleneck inside Nissan, Ghosn said the company had looked at partnering for the GT-R development but later decided against it. Now, he said, work is ongoing. Ghosn expects to see a GT-R at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, with deliveries to customers following shortly thereafter. "Our intent is to build an extreme sports car at a reasonable price," he said, adding styling changes will make the final GT-R look substantially different from the concept that was out a couple years ago. "

So there you have it. about 3 1/2 more years, and something that looks completely different than what we think.

I thing I'm going to create the ultimate GTR FAQ. RAZ can I use you as a source?

Everyone try and come up with some good questions for us to answer. then we can post a link in our sigs and not have to deal with ridiculous questions about 2f2f.

i know 2f2f stuff under the engine is almost stock. i just want to know, how in the world did they make the smoke come out from the side everytime he accelerate?u know the part where he stops and accelerate and the smoke comes out.to me it's kinda cool. pls advice.thanx:confused:
 
umm smoke....you mean the Nitrous purging system? On another note the ENGINE is 100% stock all it has is like a stupid intake and thats an exterior engine accessory...
 
nitrous purging system?does that mean that i would need Nitrous systems in order to get that?yeah i know the 2f2f nissan skyline sux big time.the only thing that i like is that smoke that purges out from the two front tyres(sides) or nitrous purging system. if it's ok, can i know HOW it's done?what do i need to get that?(eg: pipes, NOS?, pumps..bla bla bla).thanx
