Nitrous is back ?!

Nitro is back in GT6

All I can say is I'm happy for those that want it, but I sure hope it can be toggled on/off in online rooms.

Sorry for calling you a troll, but pro drag racing is an obvious one. As far as other racing series I'm really not sure, but maybe FastTech knows...

Drag racing is the only form of structured Motorsport I know which uses nitrous.

And that is my point :)

So unstructured racing features is bad for GT? How about we get rid of all the road cars then, since there is no official racing series for them...

Drag racing is quite popular with the online community.

Having said that, I imagine there will be a setting to restrict use of NOS.

If there isn't, I would agree that there should be!

From my perspective I do not like it. I do not like KERS, and I do not like DRS. I realise I am in the minority regarding Nitrous, but appreciate that many do. Certainly good for those that want to do drag racing :)

Imagine nitrous on the RUF CTR Yellowbird, dat oversteer

It may spice up drag racing, all we need now is a structured drag track.

Fair enough, since people see that kind of stuff as artificial racing. I can see why you and others dislike nitrous, but in my opinion it makes racing less predictable, and it is fun to have more customisation options to play with. :)

It has no place in a racing sim, unless they've finally added drag racing.
Ahem...

I agree with this. No official circuit racing series allows nitrous (they allow KERS in some but never nitrous, saddest thing ever), but it's still a good addition to the game because seriously, not everything in the game is an official race series.

Just seems kinda 'fake' I think, but hey, I don't have to use it :)
how is it "fake" or make it seem "fake" on any level?

I've literally been inside a real car with a real nitrous set up and i really felt the push and effect of nitrous. It's all real. There is nothing fake about it. You could even go get your car hooked up with it if you wanted to in REAL life. because, you know, it's a REAL thing.

So true, there's a fine example of it in my last post

I think this would be great. Back to GT4, where I've never used it. :D
It could really bring tension to races. On the last hundred meters everyone will use their nitro trying to win. Fast & Furious scenarios :D . It is all about timing with nitrous oxide.

Picture it right now, the Mulsanne straight at Circuit De La Sarthe.

Two 800HP Nissan GTR's, one gold, one chrome.

Two angry kids, who happen to have microphones.

Immense screaming as they NOS up and down the straight in full rage before hitting the clean player driving at the other end.

Because apparently, having NOS in the game encourages rude behaviour. (???)

This happened before NOS and NOS will change nothing in this respect.

All we need now are engine swaps, neons, hellaflush...yo, and huge ugly spoilers!

Yes, no, NO, and we already have them.

Offset adjustment would be nice though, and maybe 20% lower ride heights.

After all, this is a driving simulator not a "look how much i can damage my car by scraping it along the floor" simulator.

Realistic engine swaps, all the flush looks are fine. Huge spoilers are okay on drift cars, some of them actually need them.
That neon **** can stay in the arcade world of NFS

Lol I know right. It's going to be so exciting. Racing at Stage route X on the last lap is going to be wild.

Well, technically, neon is a real mod too. Though it should add appropriate amounts of weight, and slightly reduce horsepower via the drain on the car's electrical system.

I completely agree with others have said, nitrous is welcome as long as there's an option to enable or disable it for online races. It's also a more realistic way of having "catch-up" enabled in an online race...

I agree with neon (although technically, it's not a neon since most people use LEDs). Nothing wrong with a bit of showboating.

Neons, LED's etc etc..
They're not a showboating thing, they're just another pointless car accessory. In other words it's ricer material

I'm obviously not well informed of racing series around the world, so what Racing Series do actually use Nitrous?

This is an honest question :)

None, only drag racing uses Nitrous because they can rebuild the engine if necessary after every run, Nitrous and long races don't really go hand in hand.

Drag racing isn't the only one that uses nitrous. Drifting and time-attack challenge cars use nitrous quite often. Read the thread before making statements

I believe the word used was racing series, please read the thread before commenting, drifting is a contest scored by judges.
