I just think that going further with GT5 Prologue its a waste...and I´m not the only one thinking that.
I always liked Gran Turismo because of the main feat, the Career Mode...and of course, for me, GT Prologue games are bit "waste". I know its better than nothing, but it doesn´t satisfy me a bit.

About the PS3...yeah its a good console, no questions about it...but if I knew GT5 would take soooooo long, I would bought it wayyyyyy later. For now I enjoy the 360...a lot!!!!

I understand your viewpoint, but I want Polyphony to test features in Prologue to make sure they work and are well-received instead of just throwing them in the game while hoping for the best. I'm frustrated by the lack of a career mode to beat as well, but the online mode and the fun of racing against skilled drivers is what keeps me playing. I understand and respect your opinion, but I think it's good that Polyphony is testing stuff out instead of rushing GT5 to market.

Enjoy your 360 while it lasts. My boss is on his third one right now; the other three have all overheated and died :nervous::sly:.

I think 2010 is a long time to wait for a game, even if you are fan of the GT serie like me.

We must have in mind that remain +1 years before PD put the GT5 in market, its a very long waiting time!

This factor give the opportunity to other companies like microsoft to launch games games to the market (like they already did with Forza 2).

GT5P is a cool game but I do not believe that PD can do updates that we continue attach to the game until 2010.

This is only a point of view!

"Then i have tried RaceDriver Grid, again bought on release day with high hopes of at least what V8 supercars 3 was, but i was wrong - It lasted 6 hours in my PS3 before i took it out."

I know this is slightly off topic but I agree that grid was a complete waste of time i guess you could say what it lacked in depth it made up for in difficulty though.

As for the wait for gt5 i'm sure it will be worth it :P

Ah I didn't realise Leipzig GC was so close, I remember last years news. Hopefully it wont be anything like E3 was this year :).

i'm with most people, rather something than nothing. all those people that say PD should stop what they are doing on GT5P and soley work on GT5 apparently don't realize that theya re the same game. if you stop on P then there will be no developement on the full version. all the features yo see in Prolouge will (hopefully) be in the full game. the most we can do as fans is wait it out and not jump ship and go to another game. i use other games to tide me over it the mother of all console driving games is released.

If MS gives Logitech Support i will get an 360 too... forza has very great features i´ve read about it (Put an Golf 5 R32 Motor in an Golf 2,thats very interesting for me) and 2010-2011 to gt5 is more than crazy...

i dont believe that PD will give an big update for GT5P... maximum 1 new track and 2-3 new cars till GT5 will come... and we don´t know if theat extras will cost!? maybe 1$ for 1 car etc. like COD4... 4 new MP maps for 9,99$ tss

Er, I'd rather wait it out AND jump ship to another game. Something about having my cake...

I need my Porsche fix. It's a disease I tell you!!!

I personally don't mind the wait for GT5, because I think PD are making it extra special with all the new additions, they are making doubly sure thats it's as near to perfect when it's finally released. it'll be well worth the wait.

I think you meant "additions", but you're still right - I'll be completely addicted to GT5 when it finally comes out. When it does, my grades in college will plummet.

Thanks for noticing that 👍 I've edited correctly. Addictions did look slightly off.

the lack of G25 support is the only thing stopping me from buying a cheap 360 and FM2.I dont have a ps3 yet (holding out for GT5) so I play on my cousins one for now.....but if FM3 comes out sooner I may be enticed!:nervous:

Why pd...why!!

delaying the main feature of gt5 (the aculel [bad spelling] games it's self) because of gt-tv (just an extra feature). Thats like a DVD being delayed for 2 years because they were too busy making the special features and did'ent have time to make the aculel film.

I just get the feeling that PD have lost their way with GT ever since the release of GT4.
They dont seem to have one project to concentrate on and stick to it.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted on these forums, but I'm looking forward to GT5, tough I hope it'll be a complete and seasoned game like GT4 and not a stopgap like GT3 was, even if I have to wait till 2010.

Anyway, I'm buying a 360 with Forza 2 soon, just to make sure I get best of both worlds!:sly:. Because while it's no GT, Forza 2 is still a pretty darn good game, as I tried it on my Bro's console.

And it may give them time to put 2008-2009 cars in the game, just like the lovely new Camaro:crazy:

see ya

It's not that way. They are now constantly working on new tracks, old tracks converting to HD, new cars with perfect models usable even for GT7, one bit after another. And few times in time remaining to GT5 birth date, they'll just compile another build to show us bits of their work through downloadable updates. GT was always delayed this way and this time it's no exception. And I must say that I'm very satisfied with their work on this Prologue and it's just the most progressing game of series. Many things that were constantly omitted in the past are already solved. Much better engine sounds, lower noise of tyre screeching and whole graphics is just amazing, newly including wonderful in-car view for every car in game, grass and flowers around the track. They are even working hard on damage engine now, so if you say that they lost their way, I have to smile :)

If it only came out in 2010 then will will only be able to play it for 2 years since the end of the world will be in 2012 like the Mayan said :|

Offtopic: I think that the Mayans never got to writing the bits after 2012. They figured that, "Hey, we have a 200 year advance, we can rest a bit. Not like a cataclysm will happen."

On topic: 2010?!? are you serious? Why so long? I guess there's a bright side, I won't have to leech off my friend. I'll have enough time to save up.

Much longer and you'll have the time to write it yourself

With updates provided online now,why couldn't this be continued with an updated disc offered at regular intervals, after a few updates, and at a reasonable price.

Rather than have a finished product ,Gt could morph over time ,with updates, into whatever it could be. Changes to take advantage of new technology, new tracks, new cars, damage and blah, blah, blah,,could all be done as they became available instead of having to wait for a full version to be done.

In my mind this would keep GT more up to date, sooner, than the present method of waiting for a full finished version. Features could be added or subtracted at any update depending on needs ,or wants, or technology.

Having a full version locks us into features that sometimes aren't what we would like or don't work as well as expected. We are then forced to work with this until the next full version. Technology may offer some ability that would improve the game, but we have to wait til the next version to get it. If this could be done in the form of ongoing updates, new technology could be added sooner. Things that don't work so well could be changed or eliminated sooner.

This may be a bit off the wall, but,I wouldn't be surprised if ,when GT5 finally appears ,it will be a disc that puts all the elements of GT5P, together with all the updates ,into one place, one disc. GT5P is probably misnamed.

I think it would be more accurate to call it "GT5, A work in progress".
If updates are regular and substantial ,by the time GT5 releases we will already have GT5 on our hard drives. The GT5 disc will just give us a hard copy of what we already have. So,rather than be frustrated by a late release of GT5,I prefer to think in the terms of a "work in progress" and look forward to ,hopefully,an ever improving GT5P.

That's my story,and I'm sticking to it.:)

With the way more and more games are doing hard disk installs even the full version doesn't lock you into anything.

The point of the full version will mainly be to have a complete product in one neat package. Plus, can you imagine the download size of the upgrade to go from Prologue to a full game with hundreds of cars and another 30 or more tracks?

I would go to the store and pay $60 just to not have to wait on that.

But if they could give me an upgrade from Prologue to the full GT5 for a cheaper rate than a new Blu-Ray I would consider it. I just think that the size of GT games wouldn't make it very feasible.

Some people won't want to have to download bits and pieces of the game every so often, thus why I plan on buying the full game when it comes out...well that and the fact that my internet is slower than the Daimler Moter Carriage!

IMO they'll update gt5p to a certain point, perhaps the last major one could be the upcoming fall update. After that maybe just small fixes here and there, but I don't feel prologue will simply be patched into gt5 though.

I really don't think the final will just be prologue with alot more of what we see now and damage, etc. I think there is alot we don't even know about in terms of features and such, some we might not even learn about until full release.
Somewhere in an interview with kaz i've read(wish I could remember where) he's asked what other type of game he would want to make besides gt and I believe he mentions an RPG.....

Interesting idea. I like your GT5 - 'a work in progress' reference.

IMO although we are seeing some of GT5's building blocks in GT5P, they will eventually revert to a style similar to GT3 and GT4 (albeit more evolved).

I'm glad that we have GT5P, -- can't go back to GT4 now that I've tasted the HD-Res... however I'm very disappointed in the long delay between the release of the PS3 and an updated GT5. I've only ever purchased PSx's because of GT For now, let's see if PD can placate the GT fans with GT5P updates until we get ever elusive GT5?

My suggestion for a GT5 release (in our lifetime):

Bring out a scaled down version of the real GT5 core release but with fewer cars and tracks. This way, PD could get the release out the door sooner and then supplement the release with some downloads...

I'm guessing that much of the delay is due to the immense job of rendering and modeling. I don't think we need such a vast array of cars and tracks all at once... Give us the core and a 'starter set' of cars and tracks and then supplement it.

I recall that PD had previously planned to deliver GT5 'a la carte' style where you could buy extra cars/tracks... Instead, they promised us the sun and the moon in a full release, but added years of delay.

... anything that helps push GT5 out the door sooner than later would be welcome... until then it'll be GT5P and ONLINE events!

I'd rather wait for the sun and the moon than an unfinished product like those unfinished , unrefined games that are coming out nowadays.
I mean, they gave us something to drool upon (GT5P). Yeah I know all the tracks and cars are not there, but at least you have something. My fav track was Nur, but now I have switch to Fuji, and I'm having a blast.

I want the game to be complete and a master piece like the GT4, I have gotten used to PD taking time to release their titles and till now it has proven to work both for them and for us (the player)

the game is complete, polished, and everything has been checked and tested.
in GT4, the GUI was well planned and executed, the feature worked like a charm (LAN races on GT4 have ZERO bugs)

and the tracks and cars are as accurate and as detailed as it was possible on the PS2.

PD sets the standard that game developing companies need to follow "It,s not about the advertisements and the money, it's about the game"
if the game is good, all falls into place...the GT franchise (especially GT4) is living proof of that.

I personally hate when Game developers promise the moon/the sun (and under 45 minutes) like a pizza delivery:crazy:

You know PD is the perfect example of the advantages/disadvantages of being a perfectionist. They work so tirelessly at their product, yet they will never be satisfied. Which equals a great product when finally comes out after many blown deadlines.
