You know PD is the perfect example of the advantages/disadvantages of being a perfectionist. They work so tirelessly at their product, yet they will never be satisfied. Which equals a great product when finally comes out after many blown deadlines.

I love perfectionist, especially when it comes to "things you use" because what is enough for you is never fro them...so as a result...YOU are always satisfied

Now the question is ..."are you patient enough ?"

That's a good question! 👍

In my opinion 1 years waiting for a game is a long time, the problem is that the PD wins in perfection but lose in time to launch the GT5!

I am sure that the final product will be spectacular and is worth the wait!

jugging from the prologue...that game will even beat it's predecessor's fame

is it just me or everybody is forgetting that not everybody has internet access??

I have my ps3 connected to the internet but many people do not. Therefore if PD comes out with GT5 only through updates to GT5P than those people without internet access will never get their hands on a copy of GT5.

And i actually want my GT5 to be on a disk, because i only have 15gb left on my ps3 HDD (do not plan to upgrade it until whenever) and i want GT5 to use the full 50GB of memory in the blu-ray disc

Those Flintstones of nowadays are supposed to do update in house of one of their friend. I'm getting tired to hear about PD to lose time with Prologue, because this is actually the snapshot of GT5 in development and I like this idea to the bone!

I doubt very much that GT5 will be GT5:P upgraded over a couple of years. One word, memory. GT5 will be huge, I can't imagine many people willing to use up, or even having enough space to fit the game on. Most gamers these days are online, I don't see that as the problem. I do see the millions of Ps3 owners who have 20-60gb hard drives which will not be big enough as a problem though. Sure the game may be less than 60gb, but with the OS + any extra stuff you have on there it's doubtfull that there would be enough space. The only way GT5is realistically going to be available to the masses is on disk, I can see a download as an option to thoes with the large enough hard drives and internet, but that will not likely make up close to the bulk of sales imo.

-> Memory? That would be no sweat. I have a 250G hard drive sitting in my room ready to be installed on my PS3 just for GT5. ;)

You might, the vast majority of PS3 owners won't .

lol:lol: lookout...my Horse is bigger than yours.:D
Regardless of HD space GT5 will come out on Blue-Ray Disk, because it is the most accesible means of distribution to Customer's. Servers just wouldn't be able to handle the demand for data without issues...not to mention the download times. :)

er... I think every PS3 game does (and will) come out in Blu-Ray format... I won't make no diference whether GT5 is a large (in size) game or not. ;)

I'd rather wait for the sun and the moon than an unfinished product like those unfinished , unrefined games that are coming out nowadays.

Hi RainMan844,

My post was about a full release of the 'core' was not meant to imply lower standards than what we expect and appreciate from PD. I'm just talking about reducing the # of cars and tracks to get the release out earlier... This should have not any bearing on LAN or UI or other aspects of the Sim.

I believe that the fact GT5P is quite popular despite the fact that it is missing large amounts of content compared to GT5, --helps make my case. From what I've read on the forums, people would be quite happy with the addition of some tracks (like Nurburgring), LAN, damage and private rooms. Maybe some of this will appear in the fall update of GT5P --who knows?

In any event it's academic. PD will release GT5 when they are ready. My concern is that the longer the delay, the higher the expectations, which in turn could give rise further delays!.

Striving for 'perfection' is a noble endeavor, but some reality checks along the way are needed. There are always trade-offs and this translates to features and/or content that could be slated for future releases in favor of earlier release dates.

We have the Sun now (GT5P)... give us the Moon soon(GT5-core)... and we will patiently await the Stars(GT5-expanded).

I hope that clarifies my earlier post.

Cheers. :)
