To be honest I didn't get trough the turn 1 on your tune, I gave it something like 5 to 10 tries and went back to woosier tune  I think I'll give it a new try, seems like I had already forgotten I should apply some acceleration when the tail gets out of control under braking...

Do you guys have some sort of braking point for turn 1? I mean it really seems to me that I should do the braking here in two sections, full brake just before the crest, then open brakes for millisecond then hard on the brakes again, it's just quite hard to be too consistent there and it's really getting on my nerves  but yeah, this track... It's like I'm really carefully feeling my way trough the track, like driving on ice on really narrow circuit where all the driving lines seems to be hidden or do not even exist  it may also be that the guys who designed this track didn't have the Suzuki GSX in their mind

Hi mate,

For turn 1 there are a few dark lines running across the track on the approach. I use one of these as a guide to when to start to brake. I mess up turn 1 often so you are not alone! :dopey:.
The other thing about this car I find is that if you shift down a gear too soon you will get out of shape.
Trying to engine brake with this car and not overlaying seems to leave you sideways .

It's interesting trying different peoples tunes. Everyone drives in a slightly different way.
If @WhoosierGirl's tune works for you stick with it, you know it's good enough to achieve a fast time.
I think I read that she doesn't left foot brake either .
She must have fantastic control to tame this unruly car .

I think it's pretty much a general consensus that she is a B.A.M.F., especially in the cars that she truly loves. There are several B.A.M.F.s in these weekly seasonal threads. I wish I would have gotten involved in these weekly threads sooner than I did. Watching their replays, listening to the advice they give and straight up asking them questions has made me a much better, stable and consistent driver.

Everytime I try to learn to shift, I downshift early and spin away a good lap and when I try to left foot braking I skid all over the place.
Just ends a big mess so I stick with what I know, :)

TY, I have been called worse :)

I agree, stick with what you know 👍.
It's not like you are slow and need to pick up the pace .

I'm not sure I would of gone for B.A.M.F to describe the top Lady of the leader boards!

Couldnt quite do it in the stock 13 boss, got even closer within tenths of a sec in a stock camaro ss, (with the lsd i coulda had it), but finally did it in a stock Alfa 8C.

Good to see so many people using active steering, asm and traction control on this one. Pretty sad; a joke. I have never been this far back in a TT before. I am usually in the top 100...top 300 at worst, although I don't touch drift trials. I doubt I'll be in the top 400 on this. That's because no aids as usual. Other than abs, because everyone else is using that, too and they're street tires afterall. Also, people using automatic over manual. I assume so they don't have to worry about shifting.

No point in fighting, if people are going to be using aids like that. Dont really care if you think you're gods gift and do well anyways, you'd not be doing as well as you are right now.

The benchmark would be lower. That my main issue with the hand-holding aids.

I think it was Hoosier girl who was saying yesterday, that these people would be fast anyways. They may be true to some extent, but it is also pretty hard to be slow in this car. Then your going to add several aids to a car that is slow as sin. I think she or someone responding to her mentioned TC slows this car down. Have a look at the top 10's into, because I did last night and laughed out loud. People using TCS5. Why not just allow SRF for you people as well? May as well at this point. Not to mention the aid hiding crap that they need to lock out. Should only be permitted to adjust brake bias on the track.

Take a look at that top 50 and check out how many were in the top 500 for the 97T and the current FGT trial. Very few. That is because using said aids, slow those cars down and at the same time, they require much more skill.

It is just comical seeing people that you beat by seconds in other trials...about a second ahead with all these BS aid uses on this one. Don't care how effective people think aids are or aren't - it makes you far faster when you start to. What's even more sad (or funny? Can't decide) is reading the excuses that some notoriously decent drivers are using to defend the use of these aids. It is just a bunch of crap and sillyness.

The road car time trials are just for fun to me at this point. The race car seasonals I put a little into and a lot of I really like the car(s). IE 97T, gt500, and FGT.

Gold with 1.19.xxx with a FRS 12 @ 500 PP. No tune, no aids and no wide last corner trick. First time driving this track. I really enjoy it as it is like running a autocross.

Can anyone tries this and tell me what this FRS 12 can do @ 500 PP with NO tune, no aid, and no wide last corner trick? Thanks.
I used an 86GT at 450pp tune here.
Gold on second lap, a little irritating watching my friends' ghosts pulling away, but able to keep them in sight. Not going to get you on the leader board, still good fun. I love this car!

Don't worry about what everyone else is doing...just do your best 👍.

If it's any consolation, I'm only using ABS 1. I'm not hiding any driving aids.

Get back on the track and set your best time.

That's easy to say for some people. I do set my best times...obviously. I don't worry about other drivers, I'm annoyed at the circumstances regarding the seasonal aids. It has nothing to do with other drivers, other than the fact that they're displays and examples of what it takes to be ruining seasonals. Pretty basic and simple to understand, no? I'm not quite sure what your point was. As if I will stay "off the track" (lol videogame) and set my worst times? Hm, ok.

My point was to just ignore it and try to enjoy the game.

You said "No point in fighting". I assumed you meant that you had given up on setting your best time on the TT.

👍

@332i .. I am still in the top 100 here with my lap time I set the other day, and that is with a DS3 & abs1 only, and I have also just jumped up into the top 200 for the FGT without any other aids.

I say you should just keep at it and believe in your ability to do better. 👍

Dude, stop the whining already, if the aids make you faster, then use them! I think I was 5'th in the 97T, with everything off, even ABS. In the end however, I turned on the AS, because it gave me more consistency, not speed.
Yes, I usually beat these people at the top of the board in this one, but that doesn't mean they are cheating or being unsporty here. It just means they are better than me on using the aids to their fullest potential. I get slower with TC, they get faster, and in this TT, TC is the fastest way, it's as simple as that. Besides, its possible to manipulate what is shown in the statistics, you can run with a wheel, everything off, and make it look line you ran with DS3, TC on 10, AS on, and so on.

I dont get why less talented people feel the need to complain about the top players using aids. Thats all.

Aids are there to be used if you so wish, it is not a requirement, but for you to use if it helps you, remember every one drives using their own unique style.
What aids may help one person may slow someone else down.
:):):)👍👍👍:):):)

This subject really gets to me because, for some reason I get messages (mostly from Americans, go figure) that I wouldn't be ahead of them if I didn't use AS. AS doesn't add seconds to you time, as et just said it helps with consistency. And as someone who doesn't have much time to play, I will take that aid every time.

Top 300 at worst? At Willow your 1101, at Mazda you finished 757 and Matterhorn 939.

Not trying to be mean but the aids are not why people are ahead of you, as I said earlier with @ET the information you see can be changed so it doesn't matter what it says.
If they really are using TC then that works for them, it just kills my car when I tried it after seeing so many use it.

As @nowcontrol said just keep at it and don't worry about what others use.

I stopped reading as soon as you took a shot at the american crap. Go figure? Hm, ok. Go use your aids, honey. Enjoy!

I did catch the end of that, though. LOL did you see which days I set those times at Mazda and Matterhorn? The last day. Because my pedal setup was broken and several people on the forum knew that. I got the clutch and gas working and I was using the clutch spring from a g27 pedal for brakes. Let's see you try that on the last day, with a setup you made in a half hour, and a marshmallow clutch pedal as a brake pedal. I had never run a gt500 car before, either. That is pretty good and can all be seen lol. Weider and all the guys I normally race with know I don't race gt500 cars to boot. I'm no bs'er. You can't. Someone like you would go checking, right? Anything I say on here can be checked out, just like anyone else.

I just started using the gixxer at willow yesterday with my own setup...lol. We'll just see where I end up in a few days without your childish aids. Anything else?

If she wants to take a jab at Americans, I don't might being equally as flattering. Cough.

How do we look up where people finished in TTs? I am rather curious as well, now.

I still have nightmares about Willow after the WRS qualifier in the Megane - hateful track

Still, couldn't stand to see such a rubbish ranking, so had to give it a go.

1;10.987 and 56th... that's enough for me!
Wow, great time...what car?

I had never driven a GT500 before either (in GT6) and I finished 7'th overall, in less than a day. (tuesday to be exact).
Trust me, it does'nt matter what aids are being used by what part, you'll never beat either me or @WhoosierGirl .

I would be embarrassed to use the aids. Most of my friends list is comprised of people who rarely use abs, let alone these other hand-holders. I would rather post a lap that is mediocre, considering the times.

And Hoosier girl, you are out of your mind and so is ET, if you two think that those aids "just make you more consistent". Bull crap. Look at the top 50-100. ABS, ASM, if not asm, then active steering, traction control, etc. "Oh, traction control only slows you down". Not with that car, dude. Apparently not, considering the top end times and what the drivers are using who are logging said times.

Ooops...like throwing gas on the flame asking that one eh?:banghead: Regardless, aids off/on that is hauling the mail.

Only 1.6 seconds slower than Rajman

I think active steering is pretty essential on the GSX-R if you want to enjoy (relatively speaking) the experience!
