The wording is simply the ID's.. however...
I don't see any reason for them to be completely honest with people when they're treating this as a breach of their online usage agreement.
I take it that any hacked car that is played online could get that account restricted from online access.Times like these are when I really wish PD was better at PR. I'm personally hoping for a hacked car amnesty like Turn 10 did
Well as I said, Polyphony is the 'injured party' but Sony is the 'police'. I'm not sure Polyphony has any control over how Sony will react.
UrieHuskyToo true.
I said this from the start and it's why I never started hybriding - once Sony snaps they'll snap hard.
It's just a case of how sophisticated their method of 'finding people out' is now.
I think they could easily have a program that scans all online played cars to determine if it is an authentic car or not.. Seems like simple programming to me. If the specs of said car are out of compliance, then...Too true.

I think it will apply to the time trials as well. Afterall, you get a world rating. Myself, I seldom get better than about #3,000, but some people are serious at trying for those top positions.Well they do say ' the relevant accounts have now been banned', yet there are worried users posting here wondering if they will be banned, so I think some people have been reported and these have been banned. If everyone stays clean now this will work like a 'scare off' tactic which is probably the best way forward for all those who have dabbled in this.
I don't see them having an agenda to catch everyone - just to clean up online racing. If people know they will be banned if reported then they will stay clean.
It will be interesting considering if there are alot of people doing it.

I can't resist anymore....
Do my Prius TC and CR-Z TC count?
I doubt the numbers will matter to them.
It's not really that easy.
I imagine they'll work closely with PD to sort through save files and blanket sweep all modified saved data. However - since we have absolutely no idea how visible these modifications (as far as I know) it's all just paranoid speculation.
Or, they'll go with the more crude method of investigating reports more closely.

At the end of the day, if it's simply an account ban from GT5's online services it won't be nearly as effective as on Xbox for instance, since it's completely free to get another account.
If it's a complete ban from PSN however - that's going to seriously suck for anyone who has purchased items from the PS store..
*Slaps with novelty #1 hand*
... atleast 20% off ALL the people that play GT5 online had to have add a hybrid in their garage at some point, ... what about the people that got the 3000Hp Civic that they DID NOT ask for?...
But if future bans prove to be a PS3 ban, then you could still have a problem.THANK GOD i didnt use my MAIN ACCOUNT whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
So who here is going to be our Guinea Pig?

I have 2 "different" cars, but never used them online, or made any. I got them from a friend.
They are just for fun on RX offline!
Does this mean i will be banned??
