If you're talking about using the DLC colors through the app, then yes, it is wrong. That is paid DLC and you should be forbidden to use it unless you pay for it. I don't care if you did pay for the game, that doesn't give you the right to steal paid DLC content.

I really agree. I even got friends that just get games on there computer for free, even Nintendo games.
Game companies need money. Without them getting money they can't make more games.

You missed the point entirely. It's a closed system, the developers didn't make the game so that the owners could dig in and do the work to modify the game to our liking. Frankly, it's completely monopolistic and I'm glad the automobile wasn't developed in our era or we'd ALL be driving bone stock vehicles. Personally, I think defending this particular business model is sycophantic. I'm certainly not going to get up in arms defending big business, which has run this economy into the ground.

Now, this is entirely O/T for this thread, but if one ideological point of view is acceptable to be offered, then it's important for the sake of balance that a countervailing position is offered up.

I'm definitely not looking to change your mind and I'm certainly not looking for you to try and change mine.

I'd say we both let our positions known and am willing to leave it at that.

Ummm maybe the manual how to. But the USB drives that had the jailbreak on them were sold off.

That was one of the major issues.

I did not miss the point...at all. You're saying that just because you bought the game, you are entitled to steal the DLC that many of us paid for....honestly. That is the biggest crock of crap I have ever heard. And I'm not defending big buisiness but if something costs money, pay the damn money for it and quit ripping people off. Just because you think big buisinesses have ran the economy in the ground, it still does not give you the right to steal. Frankly, its people with your mentality thats running the economy in the ground.

Geohot and other people Sony sued had nothing to do with the manufacturing or sale of those devices.

Actually, that's NOT what I said. Nice try. Multinational corporations are having a field day with our culture and our government. Now enjoy your pats on the back from the blind, I surely will not be swayed by it.

What I said was the PS system is built in such a way that the end user cannot make modifications for their own pleasure. And I followed it by saying that I'm glad the automobile wasn't created in our era, because our population is full of so many people who think like you do, that it would be considered a crime to fabricate parts for the cars that you own.

Now, I understand that you are a conformist by nature, so I won't cast pearls.

In your original post, are you trying to say you don't like how the developers are making us pay additional money for customization options we would want, instead of implementing the ability in the game to make them ourselves?

I agree. The paint chip system is bad enough already. But I'm disappointed that PD not only exploited it to make us pay if we want more paint, but also by making them one-use and increasing the price of the paint pack over time.

I strongly agree that the price shouldn't be so high. You still shouldn't "take" content illegally, it is unfair for the developers and unfair for the people who pay.

I started this thread here because seasonal events have changed dramatically since PD became aware of hacking and thus we 'seasonal eventers' have had our own interest in this topic. It can also be noted that the only place the ban actually seems to be triggered is in seasonal events, specifically TT's although I expect this to evolve to lobbies and other online areas.
This thread has however developed far beyond it's initial reasons for existing as I pointed out about 250 posts ago. It's interesting to note that the mods merged a similar thread on the main forum with this one, leaving them here.

Again, I was referring to this post where you seem to say that it is alright to steal the DLC paints just because people paid for the game. Not sure why you tried to throw up a smokescreen and go off in another direction with all that other mumble jumble crap you are spewing out now.

Nobody has created any colours. You have been badly misinformed. Some people have stolen colours which were created by others and require payment, but no one has created their own.

Okay, I've worked out a plan. I am going to stay offline (as in disabling the internet connection on my PS3) until I get all of the cars in the game, then I'll do any random race, knock my money back down to $20,000,000 and delete my hacked cars (which I will do first), then maybe I'll be out of the woods.
