Notice of Account Ban measures

Excluding the 'I play a lawyer on the internet' the protection of game save data now has to do with dlc and such. Prior to that invention we could always have/copy/trade/share, etc our saves.

I agree thats always been the way, Nothing up with that đź‘Ť Not in my eyes anyway.

But when you take the USB stick and modify the game save by using third party software and rewriting some of the game code its the infringement of the programing or thats the way I see it. Since that piece of code was not meant to be modified outside of the infrastructure of GT5?

Chat soon bye for now.:)

Right but no one ever cared before the risk of losing dlc revenue. There is the online part as well, if PD had organized lobbies and comps this would have been addressed sooner and strict I think. Seems to me it's the tt cheating that is what caused the ban action.

You may not alter amend or change the product even if it is for your own use!!!!......What is it that is so hard to understand?

The property rights and copyright for the PS3 AND ALL SOFTWARE belong with the producers. There is never a circumstance where you are entitled to change those products under any circumstances.

Hope that is clear enough for you!

We don't all live in England, and we certainly are not all bound by an agreement which can only be enforced in England. Different nations have different standards.

If it was not for the sad pricks who sneak their hybrids into clean rooms and pretend their car is actually at the correct limits, who have made people have dislike towards hybrid users and most likely got someone to complain to Sony about it.

GT5 is still what you make of it, it's not dead or dieing, there are still plenty of people running clubs, events and rooms to keep most of peoples spare time occupied. I don't see why people think having the Hybrid cars suddenly made the game a million times better, could it be because it was then easier to win races.

People have been going on about realistic engine swaps with the guise of hybrid cars and I think this is a feature that could open up some really cool possibilities with the next installment of the Gt series. To make it work, you would need to have the ability to alter more elements of the car though. When I put a race spec engine in my real life Impreza, the next thing I did was uprate all the brakes and cooling to accommodate the changes and I think this is needed for the game too.

Agreed but all of them reside to the fact if you are using modifications offline half of these TOS do not apply to you.

How would they even know you we're hacking anyway?

GT5 constantly "phones home" to the PD servers to sync various levels information (such as the log in bonus, or the amount of credits you have, or the amount of cars you have, or what cars/drivers you have shared). They probably already check the information for what specific cars you have in your garage, so they'd likely only need to make changes on the server-side to check for more detailed information (such as parts installed or running a save integrity check).

Yeah, it had to happen eventually. In hindsight it is kind of odd to think PD would let this slide.

Anyways, if i get caught, i don't mind restarting the game on a different ID. It also means i could use my hybrids without anyone asking for them!

I'm going to make some people mad by saying this but it's my opinion.

I was playing NFS way back before the PS3 came out on a PC (I know?!?) but it was NFSU2 which wasn't so bad, but I got tired of trying to race people with "hacked" cars and my PC wasn't the fastest so I bought a PS3 because everybody was on a more equal playing ground. Didn't have to race people with 10,000 hp engines and 200in rims. If people want to have "hacked" cars fine by me just keep them offline.

Just a thought, but if PD is banning people who cheated in TTs, why would anyone share this here?

Wouldn't they be shunned by the community?

I understand that... But have you looked at the other hybrids that are on a real life replica/just realistic level? And hybrids that have a ridiculous amount of HP are easily spotted because of how obvious they are.
No you are not hated.
Just want to make sure your judgement isn't clouded by a lot of unrealistic cars.

Not everyone likes unrealistic cars that can only drive in a striaght line (and can barely do that). A lot of people like to make realistic mods/real life replicas. Have you seen these?

March 27th might of been something that they did in their servers.

Feb 18th, Release of V2.11...release of hacking program

March 6th, Release of T/T with PD supplied cars...combat any cheaters

March 27th, Servers Off Line for almost 1.5 to 1.9 hours ***

April 3rd, Drift T/T no tuning?

April 5th, Notice of action....

Could be nothing, but there is a pattern here.

I think we are pretty much certain that this "banning" about was people cheating the online ranked seasonal events

Not sure if it was just that. Remember counting today it has only been 46 days since the virus went crazy.

Please be aware that usage of illicitly modified game data and any mischievous conduct against other players using such data are strictly prohibited, and will be subject to penalties as soon as they are found

Might be reading into it, but sounds like Lobby.

Found? How will they find them?

GT5 was already dead.
As said on other thread, for one less of you, there will be more to replace you.

Well, unless PD really screws up and does nothing....GT series will be done as it would be open season for hackers.

Just checked. Seems I'm still good to go (granted, I only ever did anything with the X1 when it first broke, and only a few Seasonals at that, but didn't hurt to check, I figured).

Um, no. And hybriding made the game a million times better for us because it opened a whole new dimension of car customization.

Couldn't agree more!

I just simply don't understand that PD almost never listens to the community (at the end he made DLC's so it was something). You make a game for people who love it not for yourself! And saying that I persue a DREAM I had in 1995 is kinda silly. PD dissapointed us with standard cars. And not having all they promised done on time. Damn when will they realize:scared:

What PD should do is make the things that people do now with hybriding availible. I mean I hybrid to get some real specs cars, which obviosly are missing out of the game.

Never abused the hybrid car online, did some drifting in open lobbies thats all.. If I get a ban so be it, then I probably deserved it from PD's prespective.

Sorry to point this out, but you guys are just talking out of your arse at this point.

Nearly every single thing the community as a whole has asked for, PD has implemented. Standard cockpit views, Motegi, A test track, as an example

They also remove implementations at the request of players. Shaky chase camera, PP changes, ect

Ive never seen a dev pay so close attention to community wishes. Not to mention the rest of your post is entirely personal opinion and bias. Just because some of you are white-flag hackers, Hybrids are still a net-negative to the online community and that is why they will be gone (eventually)

I believe a lot of that was already planned, rather than giving the community what they wanted.

I think hybrids are the biggest message yet to what the community wants from the series. Give me engine and drivetrain swaps anyday over a GT4 track that I hardly used, a 30km oval and screw ups with the PP system.

In "real" life back when I had my 76 Camaro with a 327,headers,12 in wide tires on 10 3/4 in widened Chevy rims on the rear 8 in wide front tires I didn't try picking on a 428 Ford Mustang (unless it was on a curvy road).
If the hacked cars "met" the PP's I would have no problem racing them. When I do race online its mostly the random races. My internet was so bad I couldn't stay connected because it would chose me as the "host" and everybody would get dropped, that's been fixed with new internet service.

Now is probably a good time to scrub your game data clean of any hacking.

Nope not going to. I am honestly not scared. In fact I haven't cheated anyone out of anything. If my online ID gets banned it gets banned. I have played and completed GT5 7 on different accounts legitimately as in no red bulls pretty much stock cars. I have done every a-Spec event multiple times including the endurance races straight through.

If they just bann my ID in the future (if) i will just take it as it is.

Like Ice Cube said "if you scared go to church" and i am not scared.

Speculation, not fact.

I think hybrids are the biggest message yet to what the community wants from the series.

I'm a die-hard GT5 fan and a big fan of car modification. Yet I don't want anything to do with hacking or hybrids. So my vote cancels yours out

If a legitimate method was implemented, would I use it? Sure. But I vastly prefer the way GT5 [was]. One car, and you get the most out of it that you can. Which is why there are over 1000 cars in this game ...

Give me engine and drivetrain swaps anyday over a GT4 track that I hardly used, a 30km oval and screw ups with the PP system.

Again, this is your opinion. Granted it is a valid one, but if the GT5 community as a whole looks down on hacking, you are buggered.

to you and a few who keep coming back to repeat that little gem - that doesn't mean to say it actually is though, now does it?

Take a look at the forum now, and the forum from 3 years ago. It's dead.

That's what I was getting at, Seanneedscar, I would rather them factor in engine/drivetrain etc swaps than most of what they have done so far.

Getting genuinely new tracks and cars such as Spa and the Aventador etc is great, but there have been a lot of pointless updates and screw ups, where that time could have been used for much better features that the GT series has been sorely lacking since it's initiation.

On topic, if I were to be banned, it would be no big loss to me. GT5 grew stale a very long time ago for me, there's only two reasons I bother logging on at all; hybrids, and socializing with people that I have been racing with for years which is almost exclusively done in Shuffle and Spec rooms. No loss to me when I have other accounts to log in with.

.

Completely agree with you here. Releasing Spa and then subsequently making it so only owners of it, can race on it, was a huge mistake. Now at any given time there are maybe 2 servers with it. What a waste of a great track
