I don't see the logic in people saying it will be announced , ( CM in this update ) first . Is this just people keeping their hopes low I wonder ....

The facts. ..

1. 3.5 hour maintenance , longer than usual .
2. Kaz being tight lipped about everything , alluding that the CM is the last big update to come .
3. Just had 3 VGT's updated.

So logic says -

It's not a car(s)
Could it be just server maintenance? Highly doubtful for 3.5 hours ...

2 mentioned things are left in the air.
CM or FIA championship update (Other VGTs will follow as usual of course )

It's one of these 2 .

My money is on the course maker. Gt academy has finished. FIA would be an unusual choice to slot in so soon. Whatever issue they've had with the CM is now unexpectedly over in my opinion.

A betting man would go 50/50 on these 2 .

This is it .

Couldn't agree more! That is honestly the only things it could be. They hardly ever do announced maintenance just for game stability.

The website that I took this information from stopped at v1.16. There was also set of updates 15 days apart that I forgot to list. So, as you can see...there are occasionally times when updates do occur fairly close to each other.

On another note, could someone please refresh my memory? Did Kaz say that the FIA Championship was definitely coming to GT6 or did he just say that it was coming to Gran Turismo? I can't remember.

2 weeks between updates is a decent amount of time because the patch certification process doesn't take that much time. Anything less than that is pushing it.. quite a lot...

He said that the FIA championship was coming to GT in 2015. Since GT7 isn't a thing yet I expect he meant GT6, though I can't recall if he mentioned GT6 specifically.

Then I found:

EuroGamer has published an extensive article covering this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, which had a strong Gran Turismo presence and was attended by Kazunori Yamauchi himself.

It’s a good read, and they had a chance to chat with Kazunori directly, who provided a few interesting comments about Polyphony Digital’s plans for the FIA Online Championship in Spring of 2015:

However, Kaz then said:

“I’m not sure how we’ll do it right now. I think on Gran Turismo 6 it’ll be something like a pre-season series, and it’s more realistic to say we’ll have the complete series in Gran Turismo 7.”

No pattern here but they announced the new B-Spec in the PitStop blog one day before the update and they teased the MINI VGT one day before too. Meanwhile Sierra was teased a week? before in a livestream event.

So if there's content (be it a VGT or other cars or modes) they might announce/tease it in the next 24 hours.

That's when we got Quick Match, Community(Clubs and all) and Sierra. It wasn't nothing, a couple of my friends and I were talking about this the other day. I changed a couple of my friends mind with saying that. I mean, that update, that's where we got the core of the game basically, since the A-Spec can only take you so far.
