Notification of Maintenance 7/01

This may have been discussed previously, sorry if it has.

In GT5 we could make a track, save it, and if any friends wanted to try it they could DL it. We could also race these tracks online with friends. We had a nice share feature back then.

How do you suppose this CM is going to work without the share feature? Will that be part of the update? How will we be able to drive our friends created tracks?

Thanks gents, cheers.

PD should make players to able to upload and download custom created courses, just like GTA Online (with Custom Races/deathmatch's/Capture...etc) and WWE 2K (with uploading Custom Made Wrestler/Custom Ring's/Moves...etc). I'm not saying it should be the exact same way as those games but what i want to say is that PD should allow us to share it to everyone, not just share it to your friends like in GT5. Also we should have like/dislike, reviews/comments on the track and they should list Top XX downloaded/Liked....etc tracks.

I know i was bit over the top with this but i think this is a great idea.

No idea on any of these.

I just hope there's some way of getting money from CM tracks, even something like a Track of the Week Seasonal or something.

Honestly, I pray for a event creator.

Nah, that is a great idea! Every game has a ranking for created player content.

Maybe I'm asking for too much, but imagine if they had "fastest time on XX Track", "Most wins on XX track", "Fastest top speed on XX Track." That would make anyone's created track feel like an official track!

I imagine if we're to have the ability to share our custom made tracks, it'll be through the Community feature they introduced. You'll likely be able to go to someone's page, go to their content that they shared and download it that way. At least, that's the realistically way I could see this happening if it does.

Just sayin, It's Canada Day. So whatever it is, Happy Birthday Canada lol. It's what we get for the fantastic snub out of GT Academy this year.
[off topic] I am a huge fan of the beauty of Canada_Morraine Lake, Emerald Lake, Banff and the Mount Rundle and Cascade...So, Viva Canada!

Sounds like the features present in Far Cry 3. Excellent.

Here ya go buddy, just for you! That's Peyto Lake, just north of Banff on the way to the Columbia Ice Fields.

People talking about the share feature back in GT5, makes me think about the reason why the maintenance will be so long. Maybe because they'll work on some feature online so we can share our creation with the course maker (and possibly share cars). That is if they're giving us the course maker in the next update, which is if they actually give us an update after the maintenance.

On the Goodwood Hill Climb (2015), there's a bilboard of the new Mercedes A45 AMG. You probably may have seen the bilboard which is somewhere on the first corner on the right.

Hopefully, we're going to drive it on the next update!

I highly doubt maintenance period length actually matters. I bring us back to the infamous Double Maintenance of last year. 2x two hour periods on back to back days, and nothing happened. The servers were definitely not improved either, from memory. Another example of this would be the Community feature. That is a pretty big feature, most likely it won't be as big as Course Maker, but that came without any prolonged periods of maintenance.

I just cannot see anything other than some minor improvements to Server Stability coming in this period of maintenance. Surely by now something would have been leaked hinting at the Course Maker's release, or it would have been announced outright by PD and their PitStop Blog. It simply does not make any sense for PD not to announce the release of the most anticipated feature in GT a few days prior to it being released in any possible update. I say, give it 24hrs, if there's no official announcement by PD regarding the Course Maker, you can drop your high hopes of it being in any possible update during the maintenance. And whilst you're dropping that hope, drop the hope of an update coming during that maintenance.

If that was the case, then we should have a few Porsche's, like the 919 Hybrid LMP1. But that's not the case.

Just because a car is advertised in game on a billboard, doesn't mean we will have it in game.

If you knew PD as good as some of us do, you would not be so sure. As I said before, B-Spec was maybe a little less anticipated than Course Maker and yet they released it in an update just so... Without any announcing.

Except they did announce it. There were leaks from a day or two out, then, albeit a few hours out from the updates release, they announced it would be released in the next update via their PitStop Blog.

Community came with no announcement. But that was nearly forgotten about by the time it was released.

EDIT: Tree'd :dunce:

Remember the update on October 1st? That was a 9.6mb update that fixed a lot of issues.

Guess what.

Wasn't that update just because it had something to do with the code that couldn't be hotfixed?
If it was then that technically shouldn't count.

Anyways I think there is something, what we don't know but something. Maybe actual endurance races now?
