Greetings One and All,
Although Sir jordan and I go back a number of years, I am a newcomer, wandering about your community. I've just recently started GT4, and I have questions concerning game play. Before you exhort me to check my manual. my game is a hand me down and no manual is available. So please forgive my ignorance.
The first question concerns music. If I have to hear "Panama" one more time I will have to do something violent. How can you change the playlist, or at least delete the most insipid music? Next. do A-Spec points have any redeemable value? And finally, concerning Directors mode. Am I able to pre set driving style, pit stops, and the like and enter my car in say, a long endurance race and leave it un attended and be able to expect a decent result?
Your answers are appreciated, your patience as well.
Sir Jordan! I am out and about commiting mischieve in your community! So be afraid! Be very afraid!

Go to GT 'career' mode and at the main screen go to 'music' and 'race music' and delete the stuff you dont want. Or just go to options and set music to 0.

ext. do A-Spec points have any redeemable value?

No.

no manual is available
The manual is next to useless in my opinion

I can sympathise with that - Micheal is my particular bugbear - I have tried to stop certain songs playing with no success so turned off all music all the time (sound under options I think)

Do A-Spec points have any redeemable value?
Nothing redeemable, but if you decide to try and get 100,000+ of them you will be rewarded with many good races. For the biggest a-spec challenge go to the Club 200 thread in my sig.

And finally, concerning Directors mode. Am I able to pre set driving style, pit stops, and the like and enter my car in say, a long endurance race and leave it un attended and be able to expect a decent result?
You need around 6-7000 b-spec points before your driver will be reliable. There is a thread on maximising b-spec points, it should nopt be too hard to find (it probably has >1000 posts which will narrow down the search). You can set the driving style 2, 3 or 4 seem to be the most popular options. It will manage pit stops on its own and gets it right most of the time. You will win but you generally need to have a car better than the ops.

One of the Le Sarthe 24 hour races is known to cause problems - there is a big thread on this - I had to follow the advice there before my driver could win (soft springs and max ride height I think is the essence of it).

In simple language:
  1. To change the playlist, go to jukebox on the main part in GT Mode.
  2. Not really,
  3. Yes some Of the points contribute to B-Spec driving skill etc.

By driving style, do you mean Pace? and I haven't ever seen the driver pit on his own, so i guess I'm a little lost too.

He does pit on his own, but only if he has red tyres or is out of fuel.

There is no way to preset an entire endurance race. If you are on B-spec, the best way is x3 and nanny the driver a bit. Tell him when to pit, tell him when to overtake. If not, just leave him on overtake and speed 3, and he´ll be fine. You still have to set the time to x3 after every pitstop though.
