If you really want some competition, go by yourself a PAL disk and race some of those guys and you'll see what true talent and speed really is. (sorry NTSC guys, but you know its true)

hey mr. carl, i would like to point out that your talent and speed comment is not entirely accurate. there are plenty of racers from the US on NTSC (some also with PAL discs) that can trade wins with the fastest from PAL.

the thing that is a huge difference, and also the reason i would pay a hundred dollars or more for a PAL disc if i had it to do over again, is the widespread dedication to the game from the PAL audience. on NTSC, we see a handful of organized events that bring out the fast/talented drivers, but most other times the grids are very small. on PAL, not only are there tons of organized races, but there are big grids with great drivers at almost all hours.

when i have had a lot of time to play, i found myself on PAL often, but lately i have had very little time for the game, so i have just been attending some of the NTSC events since evening time in the eastern US seems to be the dead spot in PAL activity. the series being put on by earth is bringing together a lot of good drivers, and i have tried a couple of TPRA events which were fantastic.

since you guys are having a clio event on suzuka tonight, heres an inspirational video for you, courtesy of rudiraser, which features some fine young men from both PAL and NTSC

Nice that was fast// 20:40?

Not quite but Rudi did run through the pit for me to catch up.

Blast racing you Rudi

I agree with this and was talking to cpp just the other day about the same thing

I took the time to look at the GTP registry and count the number of PAL vs the number of NTSC

There is 318 PAL drivers registered, compared to only 180 NTSC drivers (US & CA). PAL owns 75% of the registered drivers here at GTP.

PAL has great drivers, they are very organized with sites like GTRP, GT5net, etc etc and they have improved their skills greatly thanks to their dedication, but they also have the numbers by quite a bit.

NTSC drivers lost interest with GT5P rather quickly.

From the very beginning GT5P interest from NTSC has never been as great as PAL's

This was proven early in the extreme popularity of the original PAL meeting thread (6,500 posts!) while the NTSC meeting thread sizzled off and finished with 1650 posts.

I have faith that when GT5 is released more great NTSC drivers will awaken from their slumber. I know of alot of fast drivers from the early days of GT5P who said they will be back for GT5.

Oh and me and GTP_CudaDude having fun with Ferrari F40s. Some really close racing in this one

Finding the TPRA has made this game a blast for me. I'm on almost every night for 5+ hrs. I have found some great drivers and think that the NTCS GTP drivers would have a blast running with them.👍

Yea, absolutely outstanding racing tonight guys! This is the best it's been in a long time 👍 Unfortunately I gtg early...I need to relax anyway  See ya guys soon....

That Clio is unreal..It is faster than my Z, and can brake later, and corner better..WTF..

I will not use that car! I will find another car on the level!

That picture is a great representation of tonights races, lol. Anyways, thanks to the guys that didnt hit me. Timeattack is f'ing unreal with a controller, he must have thumbs of steel. I couldnt put a whole race together tonight, but fun nonetheless. Later boys.

This just hit me like a wall of bricks... if we do this every night we will be the best. we can push each until we are our only competition in the World. It was awesome getting beat, You guys pushed me, in the good way, lol. I know alot of guys who are anti-oganized racing, but they are really fast. Lets do this again, and again... until we are the ones others want to beat. I am playing the Nightwatchmen`s "Union Song" in my head right now, sorry if I sound righteous. Catch u'ins on the track

We expect him to pick up .500th with a wheel. If you are fast on the controller, you are faster on the wheel. I've seen it many times. He will probably one of the fastest NTSC drivers when that day comes.

After 3 or 4 races I finally stole a setup from Lioons Den, and I was able to get my foot in the gas like he was, but by then no one was really racing, and I had enough.
All the BS me and drama kyd talked and neither of us could keep it together in the same race, lol. always next time. I raced timeattack 1 race, then drama kyd raced him the next one, only one constant variable lol.

get a PAL disc. Just imagine a full grid of "timeattacks" thats what pal is like, not just quantity racing but quality racing.

one a different note though, thanks to you it seems that we've got some kind of spark over at NTSc again, its no longer a ghost town, its not what it used to be but its definitely better than it was for the past couple months. my NTSC disc has been in my ps3 for almost 2 weeks now.

Some great racing tonight!

Although drama-kyd rmk700 and timeattack are on a whole different level! The 14 car race was fun, hopefully we will have another one sunday night.

And timeattack any tips for a fellow 6axis user!?

When I bougt GT5P I had no idea what was really going on. I sucked, had a controller, and knew nothing aout the different regions. GTPlanet has enlightened me beyond belief... my eyes are now open. For the last couple months I have felt almost like a second class racer just because of the disc I own. The time has arrived, all our eyes have been opened. We can be them. David vs Goliath... When I saw the numbers of registered GTP'ers in NTSC I was extremly inspired. When GT5 comes out we as Americans, we as NTSC users must be ready. I just watched James stewart (american) beat Chad Reed (australian) in AMA motocross. We can do it. We have til november, or march lol, to be ready. F TT. Real talent shines in racing, bar to bar, wheel to wheel, I feel the NTSC name is on my shoulders, as sould every other American, Canadian, Mexican should feel the NTSC name is on your shoulders. lets battle/practice and get ready for the war that is GT5.

rmk700 has the right car for the next battle- 111/R tuned.

Did you know Kazunori Yamauchi himself laughed at American drivers?

In an interview with a French gaming magazine (sorry dont have link) he praised Europe for all their fast drivers and how he noticed they dominated the time trials and said "I don't see many American drivers up there hehehe"

We do have until December, and we better stay warm and keep racing every week. Look what happened to me, I took 9 months off and now when I am back I have lost so much while everyone has improved in that time.

I wasn't very competitive last night, I grabbed a tune from one of the garage's, but only could run 7 flats with an extreme push, swithced to R3/R2 and got down to high 5s losw 6s, but still had a push. People where trying to pass me on the outside. Went as far as R3/R1, still could only run high 5s because of the loss of grip on exits. I really wish we get some stock car races so we don't have to worry about tuning. Not to say I could be on the same level as the front runners with equal setups, just saying I would like to simply work on my driving and not have to worry about tuning a car to match my driving.
