im going to say they probably are in-game shots, but have been reduced in size AND are being viewed by us on a pc monitor rather than in full screen on a television. IF the pictures were larger than the ps2's native resoution (800x600? cant remember) and still had smooth edges then yes, those pictures would be rendered. but as there only 450x315 its very possible there in-game shots...

Those dont look like renders. Those look like replay shots. Plus, your jaggies around the track and the dont forget, the speed blur is kicking in. If you look at the gt4 e3 trailer, and compare the scenes. Like in the trailer, skip to 1:33. Looks the same to me. Go look at the trailer for gods sake.

It's already been fully checked and thoes pics are anti-aliased, they are taken from the photo mode used during a replay.

Thats because they are done on a track not at a high quality photo location.

Doesn't to me, the rest of the mid-race shots look lower quality than thoes too. It makes sense that these pics are from the photo mode, also what better way is there to showcase new GT4 pics.

idk, that looks like gt4, what it would look like while you are looking at a replay. The trailer wasn't all high-res but you could still make out all the little this and that in it.

Do this live, if you want. Look at that gt4 trailer one more time, skip to 1:09 and compare that scene to this

I might not be right, but both the scenes look the same to me. The vid is alittle low-res but just imagine it in high-res.

You do know that the fully rendered photo's don't actuall add more into a picture, they just render it at a higher level. You will always see the same things, they will just be smoother due to aa and higher res.

I'm sure you saw the photomode demonstration. KY showed a photomode pic with a Evo(I believe) rally car in a race. When I saw that, I said, that looks like a normal gt4 shot. I didn't see anything better in the pic compared to the ingame look.

I remember lots of times you said a pic looked like a mid-race shot lol, I can notice the differences in most of them, I think the problem might be that most of the pics are small, if they were twice as large you would tell easier. Anyway, the track looks great no matter how thoes pics were taken, and the Falken R34 is a great race car.

Even if that's a photomode pic, gt4 ingame will still look close to that, very close. I do see jaggies in the pic, that's why I say they are ingame.

Ofcourse there are jaggies, there arn't as many as mid-race. You say this all the time and other pics youve said it about have been proven to be from photo mode. It's not a photoshop though and no-one evers said it was.

Yea, I know. But man, those dont look like photomode pics. They really dont. I'm confident about those pics being just direct feed pics from a replay.

Well, your just going to keep saying they're mid-race, sorry mid-replay with no changes from the photo mode rendering tool and I'm going to keep saying they are done with the photo mode rendering tool, so let's agree to dissagree and save both of us time and effort.

OMG! I cant wait! This is goning to be so great!
I hope we can do a real 24h race on gt4... would be a great online tournament organisde eiither by polyphony or Sony...
Or GtP... :dopey:

Those pics definately look like photo mode pics............but (as has been said already) it will look amazing in game anyway! I think photo mode was abit odd at the start but now I can really see its potential.......is could actaully mean people will go out and buy more cars!........you can test drive and see them at all angles in dream locations all before you by.....from the comfort of your own living room.......this is auto internet shopping at its best!!!!

As Zero mentioned earlier......I can't believe you cant upload pictures from your PC anymore......you have to host them or have the URL.........OMG! what has happened Jordan! How will I survive :( :( :D

I've lost all the pics of TVR's and Aston MArtins I spent ages changing so they were under the min size and uploading them in the British motorshow threads I made. I spent ages doing that and it seems like it was for nothing.

Someone should tell Jordan that you can't upload anymore!.....its insane....the GTP5's uploader was fine......maybe's he forgot to turn something on...it really frustrating me!

PD is still going into high gear, I think these delays that were having right will be hella worth it when GT4 comes out in November.

Wow!!! That simply looks astonishing! I think I'm going to glue GT4 into my ps2!! I especially love the helicopter shot. Those folks at PD are truly amazing!!

EDIT: For the record, I couldn't care less if those are rendered pics. For one, nobody here really knows wheter they are or aren't so it is just speculation. Secondly, even if they are, I will still bet that GT4 running in my ps2 this November will look better than any other racing game on any platform......period!

I agree with you. Even if those are photomode pics, gt4 ingame will look just like that, maybe not as clean but it'll have that realistic look the pics have. PD seriously knows the ps2's hardware. Best looking racer this gen, imo.

Hi!

I have read in a german game-forum calles T-racing that at the "24 Stunden-Rennen Grüne Hölle" there is a playable version in the "Falken-Motorhome" driving the "Nordschleife" on a PS2!!!

Ciao Joe

:)

Those are ficking awesome screens! I believe in PD, and i doubt that those pics are rendered, PD are not idiots to try and trick us, those are reply screens for sure. Like other people said on this thread, compare the pics to the videos and you woun't see any difference. Like the guy that posted his Nurb Video on the Lancer, it looks just as good.

I don't like to dissagree with someone who's name bears a striking resemblence to my own but I have the vid on my computer and just looking at it now the vid is too low quality to tell, but every mid-race pic and video I have thats high quality looks a lower resolution to thoes pics. The graphics at E3 were exactly the same resolution as in GT4:P and neither use any anti-aliasing, the photo mode pics increase the resolution and include anti-aliasing which thoes pics have both of. Compare them to pics that are confirmed from the photo mode and the only difference is the backgrounds a lower quality because it's not an actual photo mode location.

PS, PD are in no way tricking us by releasing pics done via the photo mode, that mode is public knowledge and they don't claim they are mid-race graphics.

That trailer of the BMW on the nurb looks exactly like those pics. If you dont know what trailer I'm talking about, go here and look at the vid named complete. Just look at the nurb scenes and compare it to the pics.

I have that trailer and the other one of the Lancer and another one with a Skyline. None of them are the same quality, they are all lower quality than thoes pics.
