I want to race nuburgring 24h in something that isn't an lmp/group c car
I also don't really want to put in a couple million in a gt1 car. I have an Audi r8 lmp, but I don't want to use it. Here are some cars that I have that I'm thinking of using:

1: Mazda furai***
2: McLaren f1***
3: Pagani Zonda R***
4: Corvette ZR1 RM***
5: Ferrari 458
6: Nissan r390 GT1 road car***
7: Jaguar XJ220
8: Lamborghini murcialago LP670 Superveloce**
9: Dodge Viper ACR**
10: TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM*
11: Lexus ISF RM*
12: Lotus Elise 111r RM*
13: Audi r8 v10
14: Citroen GT race car**
15: one of the various super GT cars that I've won***

EDIT:
***: best chance cars IMO
**: has potential
*: maybe

Most of the road cars wont be good enough. Mazda Furai is possible due to its handling, ZR-1 RM is possible as well, McLaren F1 with a good tune would be very quick, Zonda R is fast but heavy on tires.

Check also the Schulze Team GT-R, I ain't raced the 24Hs Rennen yet but if would have to pick one, would choose it.

Does it out turn or out accelerate the furai??

Actually never driven the Furai, but the GT-R reaches up to 800bhp if you feel unpowered. Depends on him, if he's up for a challenge would choose an equally PP car.

You do realise your up against the Group C le-mans cars mainly Mazda 787B and in the dry the AI lap around 8:00 to 8:15 in the night.
I would suggest you do some dummy runs in your choice of car at night and remember at least 10hrs of this is black as hell.

I would suggest for you a good race with the Peogeut 908 stock with oil change and R/S.
I have now completed 4 x 24hr Le-mans and 2 x 24hr Nurburgring and at least a dozen 4hr events, None using ingame save all A-spec and also level 40 A and B spec on several accounts. The 24 Nurburgring is IMO the best race in the game but do practice it isnt easy.

Agree!!!

I think these cars can't compete LM cars, race cars etc,
I finished the race with GTR R35 Touring Car (DLC content)
The night is about 9 hours and with rain is HELL!!!

You need lap-times about 8.00 at least and same number of pit stops with AI

Hi,

I have been taking notes of all my endurance A-Spec races so far, and I am currently doing the Nurb 24 Hours. I'm afraid I haven't collected enough data that could be useful for you because I just did yesterday my first stint and it was a wet one.

However, a few things you should know are:

The Nurb 24 Hour AI grids are preset and are always the same. I have compiled the first six of them and there are differences substantial enough to make you prefer a certain lineup of AIs to another.

About AI grids, check post #23 in this page:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=229380&page=2

About cars and AI pace. You can win with a lesser car, but you should be able to do no worse than 8:30. Again, if you feel it is useful, check my report in the forst post of the thread (scroll down, that first post starts qith a quick recap of all I did so far, only after starts the report of the race I'm doing now.

I also looked for a car that wasn't as fast as the Le Mans LMP cars. I guess 24 Hours of boredom aren't exactly an exciting prospect, are they? ;)

My Nurb-24 ongoing report is here, have a read:

I did my homework, I know that 8:00 is the time to beat, but I'm not gonna go with the lmp because it feels like overkill, and the only way I can survive a 24h race is if it is REALLY close and it only matters if I get a top 3 position!

Thanks for adding the list of possible grids Hun, good stuff. And yeah I'm totally with you on the Toyota 7 and 2J fiasco, as the Angry Videogame Nerd would say: "what were they thinking?!"

I was going to choose the Zonda R because of its speed compared to LMPs and the fact that I want to do the race in a closed cockpit premium car as well, but I guess if it eats tires too much I'll try a 908 maybe, which actually has less hp than the Zonda. I also just pictured driving the Zonda in the rain... *shudders*

Try a BMW Mclaren/Mercedes clk Leman car or Nissan R390 race car for an even closer race, my second 24hr race i used BMW Mclaren and was a close race, If you want it really close you also need to limit the rain as the AI are crap in the wet. To do this start the race several times untill it starts on a night clear day that way you will get minimun rain and more constistant laps from AI.

Let me know how you get on. It really is the jewel in the crown this race.

The Furai is a good call, as it's really light it doesn't eat the tires like all the others do, especially the ZR1. That way you're actually in with a good chance of coming out on top against the LMPs that pit every 3 laps. And handles pretty well.
Didn't you do the Le Mans 24h in the McLaren?

If you meant me then yes.

Several.

A-Spec

24hr Lemans.
1st time X2010.
2nd time Peogeot 908.
3rd time Mclaren F1.
4th time R10 TDI Stealth. Done in real time, by god it was hard work.

24 hr Nurburgring.
1st time Peogeot 908.
2nd time BMW Mclaren GT1 race car.

B-Spec
both done in X2010

All done without ingame save.

Furai is based on Courage Compétition C65 chasis used in American Le Mans Series so it actually is a Le Mans Prototype of a kind. :) (Well a consept of a potential Mazda LMP...)

I did it in a tuned McLaren f1 road car.... The race was intense and very close!

I consider it a track car like the Pagani Zonda R is because if the furai went into production, it would probably be one.

I also am willing to use RM and super GT cars as well.
Sorry for double posting!

EDIT: I started a poll, vote now!!

I don't think the Shultze N24 would do it, if you want to use a GT-R, use the GT-R TC (R-35 TC). I might use that, I'm able to get 4-5 laps per tire run.
You had some good thoughts, here's my humble opinion based on testing and basic knowledge:
1: Mazda furai*** Never tested... but headlights are horrible.
2: McLaren f1*** Too twitchy, short tire life.
3: Pagani Zonda R*** See McLaren F1
4: Corvette ZR1 RM***Good balance and time, horrible tire life (3 laps)
6: Nissan r390 GT1 road car*** Hmmm... good point, I wonder?
8: Lamborghini murcialago LP670 Superveloce**Tested, too slow.
9: Dodge Viper ACR** I wonder if it's too heavy and torque-y for its' own good, like 2 & 3.
10: TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM* I love TVR, but no.
11: Lexus ISF RM* Never tested, maybe.
12: Lotus Elise 111r RM* No. Not fast enough.
14: Citroen GT race car** Didn't think of this one.

The Citroen GT has freakish turning but doesn't seem fast enough and it's turning isn't freakish enough to make up for it's lack of speed, which is why I gave it 2 stars.

I'm not a big fan of using a Nissan GTR, it's a lot like the Citroen GT and it doesn't look that good... I also don't have new dlc.

That's what I tought I remembered (sorry Mark, but kudos to you too for that :) ).
I would even say the disadvatage was bigger then, as you can make up much more time on the Nürburgring with good handling than at Le Mans. How about one of the Super GT cars? if you don't like the GT-R, maybe try the Raybrig NSX? It's very fun to drive and packs some serious speed.

Far easier in comparrison with road car on 24hr Le-mans than the 24 hr Nurburgring, When i did the ring in the BMW Mclaren it was very close and that car will own the road version.

This is no longer the case after the 2.0 patch, the headlights are now easily sufficient for night driving. I'm currently using this in the Le Mans 24h.

I'd say teh Mazda Furai has a definate advantage with it's tyre wear, and even fuel consumption due to it's weight and lower power than similar paced alternatives

Sounds familiar, I just the race with the GT-R TC with the turbo upgraded to the top one. I got to the night in bright sunshine as it had been from the start of the race then one hour into the darkness the rain came down and didn't stop for 9 hours so it was light again when it eventually stopped. The rain came back for the last hour of the race as well but didn't really get heavy and so the track stayed relatively dry

At indy, the furai pitted less than half as often as the LMPs. It isn't a good car for le mans because it barely breaks 200 at Mulsanne, and it's only significant advantage is in the first curves and the Porsche Curves.

Furia headlights where corrected at 1.13 not 2.0

For an Enduro race I would want something that I wouln't have to fight the whole time. A car that is a pleasure to drive. So I voted for the Mazda.

I vote Zonda R of the choices because of sound and cockpit and very fast car.I used 787b in Le Mans and didn't want it again in Ring.Look for Super GT cars or any Mercedes also

I am currently racing this event in the 2006 Raybrig NSX fully tuned. It rained for the 1st 9hours and I built up a 5min lead over the Bentley. However when the rain stopped during the night the AI were to quick for me. I am 13hours in and curently running 4th.

I only used the Raybrig as it is my fav car on the game. (Until we get the HSV-010 GT in DLC please!!!!)
