Nurburgring Race Series - Week 10 - Amuse S2000 GT1 (W/Results)

i think that was a joke... jumping has never been illegal in any OLR event.
unless you're jumping over a hunk of the grass, thus creating a shortcut.
if two wheels are "over" the pavement its all good.
^ if thats not true, all my times for previous weeks would be illegal

Thnx for your reply, I was a bit scared that my time was not legal.:D

Me too, I was worried there :) I hardly ever do a lap of the Nord on the ground! :P

Merry Christmas!

(No improvement on my part, but maybe there will be soon as I've got a new sound system, which might drive me to greater things  )

Oh My God!
i knew this car was good... but i'd never taken it out on the ring before.
car is such a pleasure.
And that rear wing is definately not cosmetic, its not adjustable... but it definately produces downforce.
Car takes corners way too fast for just mechanical grip... and there's no way to get a car to feel so nailed to the ground through pflanzgarten without downforce.
My only complaint is that i'm always reaching for 7th gear on the straights.
also a testament to this car is that in my quick 150mile run i had more clean laps than dirty ones.

best lap so far:
42.177
1'14.566
1'41.517
2'29.392
3'05.409
3'30.451
4'17.613
4'57.140
5'17.488
5'56.857

I'd really love to see splits from that 5'54
I know i left at least .5 on the track... but i'm not sure where i'm going to find a full 2 seconds... i'm already pushing the car pretty close to the breaking point.
although, this weeks event has put a smile on my face from ear-to-ear... even if i don't win. 👍

oh, if anyone wants to know... settings are:
8.1 / 8.1
85 / 85
3 / 3
6 / 6
2.5 / 1.5
0 / 0
2 / 2

brakes: 4 / 3

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a good christmas!

Great to see so much interest in the GT1 with some great times coming in, Maybe Mastasidaz would post those split times for the quick guys to reference against...

With regards to Ronny's question about how long the series was going to last, I had in mind 16 weeks, we should be able to stick to that, Im hoping to move onto the race cars in the new year and run 5 weeks of them with the week 16 being the Series Finale and yes i can confirm that it will be the Yellowbird, tyre choice yet to be decided...... :)

I had got in mind an "Extreme road" week but im not sure its in keeping with the series, Im not going to do anything official like post a poll for it, but if you guys fancy a really extreme week of road cars instead of the first week of race cars just reply in here and let me know, im thinking cars like the Skyline, Supra, Zonda or maybe some of the road versions of the LMP's......Its upto you but would feature massive power and maybe NOS too...

Keep up the good efforts

regards

Dave

Hi and welcome, fine for you to join in just have a good read of the thread so you understand the format and rules, then enjoy this weeks (Two weeks) Amuse GT1.

P.s you and Dark Elite may want to have a look back at WEEK6 if you get time...(The Skyline thing....)

regards

Dave

Nice to see you taking an interest in the Squadron, Dave 👍

How I would have loved to have used the GT-R33 V-Spec in this series! It was made slightly less of a blow to see that it was substituted for the GT-R34 Nur, but I would still have loved to have been there to enter that! Here's hoping a Skyline turns up again soon :)

Back to the present... I've got a T10 of 6'04.xxx (hmm, Deja Vu...) but it wasn't clean, although I'm sure there's about three seconds out there to gain without fiddling the setup. Gunning for under six minutes :)

DE

Just so i can put i time in i have a T10 of 6'24.
Well off the pace but it still Default setup, and not even a clean lap. (well hitting the sand trap twice, prob counts as not having two wheels on the concrete :dopey: )

👍 to you guys. some nice times there. Once i relearn the course, i should put in a much faster time.

Cheers

Finally got a decent improvement today. Allready had one a couple of days ago, but since it was only marginal (T10 -0.025), I didn't bother to post it. Today though, I suddenly had a lap that shaved 3 seconds of my total time :D

As for settings, I read Scaff's guide, tried a couple of things, played around a bit. Also tried Dave's and Waton's settings, but... truth be known, I actually like the stock settings of the racing suspension better... Just dropped the ride height to 72 at both ends...

T1: 0'42.681
T2: 1'15.211

T3: 1'42.484
T4: 2'31.158
T5: 3'07.362
T6: 3'32.595
T7: 4'21.349
T8: 5'02.085
T9: 5'22.606
T10: 6'03.627

OnlyMe
T10: 6'03.627

Nice splits. Looks like I need to find about 2s to keep pace with you. Last time I ran this I felt like I was very near my limit...I'll just have to try harder.

Nice splits there Bart 👍

I think the midpack will be quite close this week, thing with the S2000 is that it is very good "Out of the box", the default race suspension feels very good and a decent time is fairly achievable...

My goal is to get under 6 mins to T10 which im sure is possible, however so far its not happening! I had a session yesterday of 5 or 6 laps and despite having no errors as such I just couldnt find any speed to better my time and was in fact a couple of seconds slower overall....

Keep the times coming in everyone.

regards

Dave

So my first splits are:

T2: 1'14.744
T10: 6'06.~~~

sorry but i do not rember the rest.
There is still at least 3sek to gain in my T10 cos i was off on that right side turn after jumping down :/
Settings DH75/75 BB 4/3 TCS1/ASM4 (the one that makes car little oversteer) rest stock. (DS2 AT)
Some clear and i hope faster lap in few days.
And yeah that car is veeeery nice :)

2nd stint:

41.895
1'13.912
1'40.783
2'28.848
3'04.722
3'29.571
4'16.361
4'56.163
5'16.268
5'55.691

next session i'm going to channel the stig and take another second off.

Good times there watson!👍

I havent had the chance to run this holiday period yet, but i hope to get back to it tonite...

Ill have times in when i next get online.

Good luck everyone!

Board updated!

Hi everyone, having a bit of a nightmare now, since my clean lap im going round in circles regarding settings and have not produced anything worth mentioning in the sessions i have had with the GT1 (Which isnt that many!), just to remind everyone the deadline isnt until 03/01/2006 which is next tuesday 9PM GMT so plenty time left to get some laps in.

Great to see so many names on the leaderboard, hope you all submit times!

regards

Dave

Ran 5'54.2.
Botched it. :(

Ran 5'55.2.
Nailed it clean. :D

Should turn in the time sometime tonight, tomorrow or the next day (or sometime before the deadline).

Also, when I submit I would like to be included in all results tables including overall points standings as well as the results for the week.

(if that's ok)

Thanks and hope this serves as a heads up for anyone looking to get that final fast lap in over the next few days. 👍

I must admit, I am very interested to see the replay and final time for "masta_____."

Should be an interesting week for sure.

Oh and if I improve I will be back.

Edit:
Time submitted.
Not gonna spend anymore time on this one.
Good luck to everyone. 👍

Later. :D

Ah ha!

Now i have a time to beat you rascal!
:grumpy:👍
I managed a T10: 5'55.6something, but i cant seem to keep the car on the track, im getting a lot of lateral slip, and i cant quite figure out how to stop it without making the stabilizers too stiff!

Nevermind, ill have another go now i know the top three are going to be close, maybe even the top 5!

Just goes to show you dave, you get the right combo, and we all want to play!!!!

Well done everyone so far, looking forward to the results!!

I think Dad's met him once... No idea what his name is, though! He's not that unknown really, he does public racing events quite often!

Still no clean time worthy of mention :( more chassis tuning required! Or better yet, a customisable transmission :irked:

for christ sake... playing PGR3 and NFSMW was not the best of ideas LOL

I played and finished most wanted throughout my week off... back in GT4 was painful ...

Spent a good 3 hours just getting the feel back. So much realism... haha

Clocked my car at 2400+ kms total... but finally got me back on track with some very good times.

T10: 6'02.283
That,s very very good. unfortunatly, i won't have more time to spend on this so that's gonna have to do.

I still think the S2000 is an amazing car... just not a 'superCar'... but hell. I'd prefered racing with a zonda or Ford Gt or something that goes in the supercar classification. Just trying out the Zonda tho, i can understand why people were reluctant about it... that think bites on the track.

Cheers to all and Happey new year ;)

Just a quick note to say ive submitted and its not the best lap ive done, but its clean and complete without walls, grass, or sand.

dont remember much about it, other than i was hanging on a lot.

T10: 5'55.295 i think.

Good luck to all for the results tomorrow.

:irked:👍

Hello all,

You may or may not have noticed that I havent been around much recently.

There have been some events in my personal life recently which have caused things to change for the worse for me.

There is no way im going to be able to continue the NRS and I wont be around GTP for a while, I am extremely sorry to the dedicated following who raced with me for the last 10 weeks and i would ask that you understand sometimes there are things outside of ones control that influence your life, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.

I will try and get some results up for week 10 but will have to leave things at that.

If anyone wants to run the last 6 weeks out instead then feel free to PM me for the details i had planned. Other than that I apologise again.

regards to all as always

DG

Corr blimey.... well let me say, erm, i hope that you and your loved ones are ok Dave, and that whatever the problem is that you get it sorted so that you can return here and race in 2006.

I never wanted to see an end to this series at all, let alone a premature one.

I dont think i have the technical knowledge to continue this for you, though i would like to.

Perhaps if it could be explained to me, i could try, but im not sure i would have the time, nonce or internet access to successfully do it without upsetting a few racers along the way.

Anybody step in and save the series?

Damnit, i was really really enjoying this combo, and looking forward to many more.

WHO CAN SAVE THE NRS?

👎:irked:

Dave, you did us proud, congrats on your efforts as always, good luck to you.

sounds familiar... the time i just submitted is .8 slower than my best lap; but unfortunately my best lap has 3 wheels off in wippermann due to a bit too much pushing going accross the t7 line. :ouch:

Oh man Dave, i'm very sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you in your troubled times. It always happens as least expected but i hope everything turns out good for you.

I have no where near the capacity to follow up on this series, but i'm hoping i can perharps help into saving it, it was of great help to me to learn about the 'ring.

Give news when you can!

Can anyone step forward and help?

In reference to post 86?

Help!!!!

I dont want to see this series die an untimely death!
