Nurburgring Race Series - Week 10 - Amuse S2000 GT1 (W/Results)

Hey Dave,

I just read the shocking news! I hope you're well and that everything will work out for you in the end. It is a shame if the series would come to an end now, but as we all know, this is still only a game we're talking about, and there are far more important things in life than GT4! So I can understand your decision.

I was tempted for a while to maybe take over, but when I'm honest to myself, I have to admit that I just don't have the amount of free time needed....

I'd be willing to step up. I've been thinking about my own series for a while so this might be a good opportunity for me to learn some of the difficulties associated with hosting a series.

I'm not computer savy related to posting, leaderboards and what not but could at least help finish things off in Dave's honor. My threads would lack the glitz and polish Dave has shown us unless I'm able to quickly learn the ropes and find the time to take pictures of the cars, post pictures of the cars, etc. all very time consuming.

I would definitely need Dave's "theory" for the race car choices to finish things out. From what I can tell we'd have 5 weeks with the race cars plus a 16th week finale with the Yellowbird.

If the group of competitors would stay with this despite my lack of experience and provide some sort of indication or vote of confidence here I'll PM Dave and see if he can shoot me some quick notes.

i'm lucky if i have enough time to actually drive the car. so it would be impossible for me to steward.
though; goixoye, i could probably give you a hand with the html and photos etc... if need be.

Ah ha!

This is looking more promising!!

Im sure more people will turn up here once they remember what the internet is and which sites they liked in 2005, after christmas has worn off i mean!

If they do, then we should get more support for you guys.

I will help any way i can, but i dont know what way that would be...

Im not clever enough to do the html things, and i cant post pix yet, but i can race, and i can compliment, and i can congratulate, and i can support!!

:irked:👍

@Dave_George:

Take care of your personal life first...GT4 is just but a game!
(Damn good one though I know! :D)

I know I've not raced this series for quite a few weeks for my own personal reasons but because of what D.G. has put into this event and the charisma he brings to all of his posts, I'd like to offer any assistance to either vexd and/or goixoye if either one of them is willing to keep this series afloat....as prevoiusly stated, I don't think I could do it all on my own as well... However, I could, if needed:

* Update leaderboard
* Take pictures for race event/thread topic
* Become the office 'gopher' for anyone if needed! :D

To those interested, feel free to either PM me or email me at: simracedriver@comcast.net

Cheers!

@Dave - Sorry to hear the news and I hope that things sort themselves out in time. Please do keep in touch as I have enjoyed talking to you over the last few months. I'm going to PM you my e-mail address, if you can keep in contact it would be great, if you can't I more than understand.

In regard to the NRS, I unfortunatly do not have the time that would be required to run the remaineder of the series, but I would be more than happy to carry on (as I did with Dave and others) providing technical input and suggestions with regard to settings and cars.

Regards

Scaff

Dave, sorry to hear that you've had some problems there, dont worry at all
about not being able to continue with the series, I'm sure we can cobble
together a continuation of the gem you created.

I would be willing to lend a hand keeping the NRS going, as i feel that the Ring
deserves a series dedicated to it, so please (to those who take up the challenge)
let me know what I can do to help out.

Again, Dave thanks mate 👍, you will be missed, till your return.

LOL, too true!

I'm still in for this series if someone can take the helm.

Dave: Take care.

Hi everyone,

To keep you updated :

I have PM'd Ronny and hopefully he might take up the 6 remaining weeks of the NRS, I will get some week 10 results up tomorrow and finalise whats happening then, so hopefully you may be racing again in a week or so.

I have been quite moved by some of the comments i just read, thanks for the support. I am fine and getting on with sorting the things i need to sort.

Again I apologise for the disruption to your series, Im sure you can understand it was a tough call for me to make to stop running at this point.

Anyone unsure about submitting for wk 10 please feel free to pm me I will put up results at some point tomorrow for you.

thanks and best regards

David

hello guys,

I was on vacation from 1 untill 7 january so i couldn't say something here, i will post my split times today so they can be drawed into the leaderbord. I will also make an capture from my lap but i dont know when i am gonna do that, I am also very busy with rFactor.

Regards,

Steffan

Well as promised here are some results for week 10, sorry they are so late and without the usual polish....unfortunatly i just dont have the time to prepare them as such and create a seperate thread. so with no furthur adu....

1st place goes to Kent with his 1st submission AND he's included in the results tables as requested, 2nd is VEXD running the leader mightly close, Dr Watson comes 3rd just .5 behind to round off podiums. I took 4th just ahead of RedOak who seems to be well upto speed now, Onlyme takes 6th ahead of Goixoye and The Wizard for 7th and 8th respectively.

Times :

1st)Kent 6'38.330
2nd)VEXD 6'38.680
3rd)Dr Watson 6'39.036
4th)Dave George 6'44.914
5th)RedOak 6'45.437
6th)Onlyme 6'47.798
7th)Goixoye 6'49.267
8th)The Wizard 6'50.057

Just 8 submissions for week 10 affects the leaderboard as such :

Well done everyone, Ronny is taking the Reins for weeks 11 to 16 and I may join you for a race or two depending on how things go.....

best regards

David

Awesome racing Everyone! :cheers:

I'm kinda disappointed the "masta" didn't submit, but then again, I'm not since I doubt he had a replay to post with his "possible but very fast" run. :P

VEXD,
Just couldn't let me walk away with an easy win huh? :lol:
Very nice lap there. 👍

Also, I'm happy to see such a close race after that much of a lap (and a very interesting lap at that).

Well, as you all should expect from me...

Here's my replay.
I hope it sheds light onto how this lap could be run for some of the "slower" racers.
I also hope it shows the faster racers who I barely beat that I am a legit player (if you didn't already know :lol: ).

Thanks for posting my time in the results dave. 👍
I would have stuck to the old "honor system" of simply posting my time and leaving the points/results to you guys but this race was different for several reasons. :mischievous:

Until next time,
-Kent

Awesome time there Kent.

I'll definitely be watching your replay for educational purposes - I know you are a honest racer.

Great times, everybody else.

And I hope you get everything back together in your life, Dave. Sorry to hear that, man.

The Wizard.

Srry guys that i forget to post the T times yesterday,

Here they are:

T1 41.811
T2 1.13.964
T3 1.40.892
T4 2.28.372
T5 3.04.110
T6 3.29.058
T7 4.15.710
T8 4.55.354
T9 5.15.285
T10 5.54.515
Finish: 6.37.640

I hope more people believe me now that i really have driven this time, I shall look if i can make a capture of it this week.:) Also this lap could have been 1 - 2 secs faster I made one mistake and at the last sector I did to easy. I also drived this with standard setup

As I'll be trying to do a leaderboard a few questions:
1st = 20pts
2nd = 15
3rd = 14
4th = 13
etc. until points run out?

Looks like this week's leaderboard is not right:

1) goixoye (me) should have been awarded 10 but The Wizard should have been awarded 9 (instead of 10)?
2) Soyfu should have been awarded a DNR instead of 7 points?

I'll correct these in my 1st leaderboard unless Dave (or somebody else) can explain these issues. I'm not trying to be picky...just trying to make sure things are accurate. I actually only noticed this because I was trying to understand the points system...not looking for errors.

I will assume that the corrected Week 10 Leaderboard is accurate. It would take a great deal of time to verify the results through all 10 weeks. I may go back to Week 9 but that's it. Mine probably won't have the movement arrows.

If someone would like to take over a photo contest (5 bonus points) that might be interesting. But I won't have time for that.

BTW Congratulations Kent, VEXD & Dr Watson. Really awesome times. Also hats off to RedOak...closing in on Dave and separating himself from the "other" group.
