Wait, so how much would a ticket for average seats at Old Trafford cost?
As I fall into 16-17 price band, I don't find the prices too ridiculous (£350 for a season ticket). However, the prices for adults are horrendous. Carling Cup is never going to sell out (unless it's a derby in later stages) but charging adults £37 for cheapest seats is just too much. Arsenal sold tickets for Man City CC game for £9, resulted in full ground. At least prices for Europa League will be lower - although price drop is not as big as I hoped. Tickets for away fans are a joke too, Chelsea charging £56 for seat behind goal in lower tier is monumental rip-off. Clubs know it'll sell out regardless, so few clubs charge less than £40.

Back to the Premier League, another tidy performance by Norwich, their first clean sheet. No wonder, Torres played against them. Blackburn keep picking up valuable points, after they lost to Bolton at home, I thought they're going to be surely relegated. Now, after picking 4 points from Anfield & Old Trafford trips, I'm not so sure anymore. Liverpool played poorly yesterday, if Dalglish wasn't a legend for his achievements as a player, he'd be sacked ages ago. Poor overpriced buys (Enrique & Bellamy aside), little attacking threat. Charlie Adam was never that good, playing among Championship players made him look class. Bit surprised at West Brom's win yesterday, especially with the joke of a penalty against them.
There were a couple of belters yesterday, for me Gardner's was the best, followed by Robbie Keane's late winner

What a game at Eastlands. What a game. Spurs did their best, and Defoe was inches, mere inches from winning it.

City go marching on, and United/Arsenal still to come. Game on!

Ridiculous game, nothing happened for an hour and the BAM, four goals in quick succession, and a nail biting finish. Can't see Spurs winning it without slip ups from either Manchester club now, and Man Utd to win this afternoon against a slighty weakened arsenal.

Just one thing;

Chris Coleman
Spurs didn't deserve to lose on their second 45 minutes

But despite being unlucky with Defoe's miss, they did deserve to lose over 90 minutes. It is a game of two halves and today City did enough, just, to maintain a 100% record at Eastlands.

Spurs were getting better as the match progressed but Man City were the better team indeed. That 100% record is starting to look worrying invulnerable as the season goes on.

Arshavin, Djouru, Walcott... sell immediately. Only Arsene would continue to put faith in such scrubby players. Of course he would take Chamberlain off... Arshavin = the straw that broke the camel's back today.

A drab game I thought.

Still, 3 points for United keeps the title chase alive.

Once again, United get by without playing amazing football, though Arsenal weren't brilliant today and taking Oxlade Chamberlin off for Arshavin ... Beggars belief, Wenger can't see the lack of threat Arshavin possesses at the moment, never mind the fact he doesn't track back at all. United still lacking in midfield though :scared: need someone this january

The 'Super Sunday' delivered, so much drama (1st half of City - Spurs aside). Spurs were desperately unlucky to lose, credit to them for recovering from 2-goal lead, they could have won it, if Defoe tapped in from Bale's cross in stoppage time. How narrow are margins between success and failure? Spurs players and fans will probably feel angry at referee for letting Balotelli stay on the pitch, and after seeing replays (of poor quality, to be fair) I'd agree with them, Balotelli should have been sent off for stamping on Parker.

Arsenal - United was maybe not as thrilling for the neutral, but still very intriguing, thought we (United) played well. Back four solid (special mentions to Smalling and Evra, both immense). Midfield did okay, wingers were excellent, although Nani could have made better decision a couple of times. Welbeck was great, showed the passion, made effort, you could see how much he cares. Not a classic performance by Rooney, but he was decent.
Early contender for 'Worst substitution of the year' - I don't know why was Oxlade-Chamberlain replaced with Arshavin, he didn't even make an effort. Arsenal's lack of full-backs taking their toll, with both goals coming from wings.
The biggest negative for United are probably injuries; Jones will be out for a 'couple of weeks', Nani, Evra and Rooney all picking up knocks

Thank god we're into the Carling Cup final. I don't care what it is but any trophy will do this season. Suarez soon to return. Many blogs including some utd fans have highlighted the numerous errors in the FA report of Suarez v. Evra. Tomorrow is going to be a bloodbath.

The typical post-game Facebook war annoys me somewhat. It's always the same arguments.

Liverpool only turn on the gas against the big teams and they're still outside the top 4
Man United have got a rubbish side with a crap keeper and look like surrendering to Man City

Right, now that's out of the way, more important things: it's Wrexham vs. Bath City. 2nd vs. 24th.
Up the town!

That said, I didn't actually watch the game. Was it any good?

Pretty good game. Liverpool didn't really deserve to win though. They were often pinned back as Manchester dominated the possession for most of the game. Gerrard was petty poor I felt as he often made rash tackles and gave the ball away and was then subbed for Bellamy. Carroll had a fairly good game though surprisingly, smashing a header against the bar in the closing stages. Park Ji sung was the best player out there I felt.

That goalkeeping comment was actually spot on Mazda, De Gea was abysmal today. The first goal was his fault as he ran out trying to claim a corner but got nowhere near it. After that he often made errors, jumping for crosses that were going out and giving corners away in the process. Liverpools second goal wasn't really his fault but you do feel as though Hart would've saved it. I do think he'l come good but at the moment his form is worrying and probably cost United the game.

Anyone see the Chelsea game ?

EDIT: Have to say that was one of the best refereeing displays all season. Only incident he may have got it wrong was the two footed tackle but apart from that faultless.

Really? I thought he was poor overall, his goal was excellent, but few he gave the ball away cheaply yesterday. I don't like giving MOTM titles, but Rafael deserved it the most in my opinion, I just hope he can avoid injuries. He was superb yesterday.
De Gea has attracted a lot of criticism for his performance and I can see why, he could have prevented both goals plus making some mistakes which weren't punished. I stand by idea that he will be world class in couple of years, but dropping him for few consecutive matches and introducing back at Anfield is some poor management by Sir Alex. 👎

And another thing; did Liverpool really offer Manchester City Carroll for Tevez swap? What next, they'll offer Barcelona Jay Spearing for Xavi?

Just saw this on the BBC Live commentary site. Not my own work, but had to !

"Kenny, Wenger, Fergie, Redknapp and Boas sitting in a pub. Wenger goes up and buys the first round of drinks. Boas the second, Redknapp the third, Fergie the fourth. Kenny buys the next but Fergie complains "Where's mine?!" Kenny replies "Sorry pal, this is the fifth round and you're not in it."

:D

Tevez might be a better player than Carroll but he comes with huge baggage. His attitude could upset the entire team and is why, even being a far better than Carroll, why Liverpool probably asked for a swap deal.

I see Tevez rotting the bend the remainder of the season and will be offloaded in the summer for cheap. Today's the transfer deadline and it seems no one wants to pay his 'net value' that Man City wants. I sure wouldn't!!! He's cancer to a team.

This transfer window has been drier than Torres' goalscoring form.

Hope there is some action tomorrow; Sunderland have had a bid for Kevin Davies turned down.

I hadn't heard that it was turned down. I read that Bolton wanted to keep him, but that he could leave if he was looking to leave.

It was turned down, but they're submitting a better offer.

QPR on the verge of Djibril Cisse for £4 million.

I think they will sign Davies. With Bendtner's injury being much more serious than initially thought, they absolutely have to do something to provide more attacking play. What a great time to get Frazier Campbell back though. :embarrassed:

Liverpool have made their 'one and only signing';

Danny Ward from my own Wrexham

£100,000 for a Conferece player who isn't anywhere near the first team in the Conference? Clearly he's one for the future, but that's a big tag for a player from the fifth tier.

Sunderland acquire Frank Bridge on loan from Manchester City to shore up the RB position after Wes Brown has recently gone down with an injury against Middlesbrough.

Cisse has gone to QPR, but not much else interesting happening. Hazard out of Lille to Chelsea/Arsenal in the summer
