I just realised. I bought my CPU with no intention of overclocking.

Now I need to upgrade that aswell...

It's not overclocking well or what? Your multiplier on that chip is partially unlocked so you should be able to get a decent clock on it, you seem to have decent cooling on it. Find your max, safe voltage for that chip and start increasing your BLK's.

My i3 is completely locked from what I can gather. I take it there is no way to get around it?

I think you're out of luck. Should be able to OC your ram and GPU's, run a Solid State HD, but that will be about it. Look at some of the "K" series chips with unlocked multipliers if you're thinking of updating your CPU.

Looks like an i5-3570K would be your cheapest upgrade path for your CPU if you want to start overclocking.

Ooh, a chance to stretch the legs of my 670s and go for big numbers...

Sharky. - i5-3570K @ 4.0GHz - [2] x Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB @ 1040/1577 - air/air

Eat my shorts, Phoenix - 780 SLI who?
Say what now, Sharky?

Phoenix - i7-3820 CPU @3.60 GHz - [2] x GTX780 @ 1004 MHz/1056 MHz - Water/Air

I just upped my GPU MHz by 50... And BOOM! :D

Updated! Nice run. Are you sure those are the correct memory speeds and not the "core boost" speed? They seem too low. I think stock is even over 1200mhz.

Google
So first things, the stock GTX 780 is:
Core: 863
Memory: 1502

I believe the core speed with boost for your run is 1056mhz with your memory at 1502 if you didn't not increase it at all.

Thoughts? Post a screen shot of your GPU-Z while under load and we can sort this whole thing out. :)

I posted my base speed/boost speed. :)

I did not change anything on memory speed.

According to GPU-Z, my memory speed is 1502 yes.

Ahh, ok. Well no one cares about your base, as the "boost" is what was used in the bench. ;)

Post GPU Core/Mem Speed. Example, your post should look like this:
Phoenix - i7-3820 CPU @3.60 GHz - [2] x GTX780 @ 1056 MHz/1502 MHz - Water/Air

This will give everyone an idea on core and mem speeds used to achieve your score. Gives them something to work towards and it also gives us insight into what the benchmark is more greatly effected by. 👍

Ok, this will surprise you!

Boost 1156 MHz / Memory 1502 MHz.

:P

Where is Sharky now?????

^There ya go. Now you are getting the kind of numbers I would expect from those cards. Where are your temps sitting on your cards during the run, high 60's?

Nah, #1 was max 57, #2 was max 47. :P

Well.....dang man, let those monster cards run man! You should be able to hit 1200mhz pretty easy. Might have to bump the voltage but with those temps, you have room to play. I bet you could hit 1240+ or so on the core. :D

Haha yeah.

I'll bump it 25 MHz at the time now, and see what I get.

PS: Update OP. Sharky needs to be shown! :D

Get to your top score and post it. You'd have me update the leader board after every run. You are power hungry my friend! :D

djinline - AMD Phenom™ II X6 1035T @ 2.6GHz - [1] x Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GB @ 738/1000 MHz - AIR/AIR

Not too shabby, I think. :)

11,068 - Luminis - Core i7 3770K @ 4.4GHz - 1x Gigabyte GeForce GTX680 OC @ 1071.3 MHz Core/3004.7 Mhz Memory speed - Air/Air.

Not too bad for a single GPU set up, I think. I'm happy with it, at least.

/edit:
The benchmark's hardware detection is a bit dodgy, I guess. It kinda thinks I've got a 4gb 680... Dunno why.

/edit2: Scratch those speeds. Didn't use GPU-Z :indiff: I'll edit them in later.

So, max readings GPU-Z got: 1071.3 MHz Core, 3004.7 MHz Memory. I'm pretty sure there's something a bit wrong with that. Sleep deprivation is making me overlook something, I s'pose.

That's why I have twin 670s, 3+1+1TB of storage (with an additional networked 3TB coming next week) and three screens ;)

Should give you plenty of storage. :)

And to be honest, i'm not a big fan of multiple monitors, unless the screens goes all the way out with no border.

But i'll leave Pako on top of the list. For now. :dopey:

Do you guys know that itchy feeling you get when you want to throw money at stuff? Say, new computer hardware?

God damnit, I can't even fit a bigger desk into my room to hold more/a bigger monitor(s) with higher resolution to make better hardware necessary. I don't even play anything that'd need that sort of hardware power, but I still wanna play with you 780 SLI guys :indiff:

👍 Nice single card run! Got ya updated.
Thanks, Pako :)

You mean like me looking at 760's yesterday?

 That itchy feeling is called GAS, gear acquisition syndrome.

Sorry TB, looks like djinline bumped ya with his AMD machine. :)

Gear Acquisition Syndrome, nice one 👍

I just need something to use that gear for. Some sort of excuse to go out and buy stuff...
