The blog is in the beginning stages. Get expactations in check. Even if Kaz was god he couldn't answer the right questions at the right time.

It's nice that they're keeping going with these "interest" pieces, but at this point almost all of the content on the Pitstop blog is fluff, with only tenuous connections to the actual game of Gran Turismo.

I'd love it if we had even half as many pieces with Gran Turismo insiders giving their perspective on aspects of the game, as we do of mysterious people giving their perspective on Kaz's weekend hobby.

So basically, the only answer we got (to ONE question out of....hundreds) is: coming to GT7
And then again who can guarantee it will really happen? Remember Kaz said we wasn't sure the new sounds would be ready for the release of GT6 ?

My expectations were based on this:

"The PIT STOP is a blog-style service that brings you information regarding Gran Turismo in a casual way"

So far most of the blog posts have nothing to do with Gran Turismo, the game. The two that do are history lessons. So far I'd say the blog has been dissapointing at best. Kaz obviously thinks there's no sense of urgency to address any of our more pressing concerns nor to keep the flow of information directed at the game itself.

"At PIT STOP, a variety of authors in addition to its writers will be posting articles from all over the world."

I'm happy, it's probably my favorite blog. Not that I read other blogs, but that's irrelevant.

Unfortunately I can't read minds and I don't understand Japanese. Obviously you are well versed in witchcraft or fan fiction. Possibly both.

I think part 3 of the sound subject is long overdue. I know Kaz is busy with other things right now, such as the whole FIA Fiasco, but now that that's done, I think its time to answer more questions.

I like the idea of a blog, and the way they blog is like any other blog, its just filled with information about them and what they are doing in their lives. So it is very much, a blog. What rustles people's jimmies is the fact that the blog is a blog, rather than being an alternative to twitter in where other devs can interact with their fanbase through news, and answering questions, or whatnot.

Excellent strawman response as usual, none of which has anything to do with the intended focus of the Blog.

I really don't understand Kaz. What is it with him towards the fanbase, and responding to their questions? Why should we respect him if he won't respect us, the fans, WHO'S BEEN SUPPORTING HIS GAME FOR 15 YEARS? I'm really starting to not like this guy anymore. I love GT, but I don't like him. And the whole sound update being saved for GT7, he's full of it and doesn't deserved to be believed...

I wish we had a new developer who actually cares about the fans and actually communicates with them, not him/herself. Kaz is selfish and only cares about himself. 👎

My expectation was pulled from the same page as your expectation. Using this strawman response as your argument is just slapping yourself in the face.

Kaz and the editorial team responsible for the majority of it's content guide it's intended focus. Your interpretation of that intended focus differs from it's current content. As such, you are clearly wrong.

If you find that Kaz disrespect you, what are you doing here ?

You've decided, anyway, that although PoDi does is bad then forget Gran Turismo .... It's better for your health, there are other driving game that offers you the experience you probably looking for.

Battefield became ****. I not bought 4 and I don't will buy next, point.

Indeed, so we can conclude that this isn't fan/developer communication at all but a developer diary. I don't know if this blog is the only way PD uses now to address the need for fan/developer communication, but if this is it, i guess we'll learn more about the GT6/7 itself through interviews with Jordan etcetera; so in essence it's exactly the same situation as before.

All I got from this post is that you cannot decide on wether to hate or love PD each week.

Seriously, you flip from loving what they do to wanting Kaz's head on a stick.

Each week, more like each day and each thread, I mean he say we shouldn't respect kaz? Really? One thing my dad taught me was treat others like you want to be treated, always look a man in his eyes, give a man a firm handshake, and respect others and others will respect you. He the only one saying not to respect Kaz, and honestly, Kaz did nothing to disrespect me or others that play GT. This blog is great and I enjoy reading and look forward to the many articles to come with GT related news. Talk about respect, it looks to me that Mr. Yamauchi is quite respected around the world in gaming, racing and the automotive culture in general. I highly doubt he going to lose sleep over one guy posting everyday that he doesn't like what he's doing, SMH. Oh yea, watch what you say about him, you say anything about him and your post will magically disappear.

Seems he isn't loosing much sleep about what most GT fans want for the series neither.

All the strawman positions and double-talk in the world won't change the fact that the intended purpose of the blog is clearly stated, no interpretation needed, and at the same time being almost completely ignored. If they wanted a generic "day in the life" blog that's clearly their prerogative and they should have made that clear from the beginning.

True but, you don't know that, I feel Kaz is looking down the road a bit, the next 10 to 15 years, the big picture. And truthfully you will be surprised on how much sleep someone gets that on his level of success and schedule. The average person couldn't imagine or deal with what he has to deal with. If you got a bunch of time, more than likely you have no money, when your dealing with Kaz's type of money and business, more than likely you have no time to do anything, let alone worry about a certain someone on a forum saying he doesn't respect him or like what he doing.

That's what I meant when I said he's not losing sleep. And they say, you can't make a billion dollars without making a few enemies or haters. :)

This could be his number one excuse, tweet it to him so he can use it for his next interview :D

It shows to me, the blog is not just about GT and Kaz, it's also about the ins and outs of PD and the inspiration behind all of this and how they are going to be, it's about some people that has access to be close to Kaz and can write about someone's view from the outside looking in. Besides, it's still early in the blog and as time goes on I bet there will be some great and revealing articles in the future.

It shows.... Yes GT is lacking in some areas but in others it's unrivaled. The other night I was in a stock Jaguar XK-R, Mercedes SL55 and Cadillac CTS-V on sport hards room and it was a great night of racing on different real real world tracks. No other game can replicate that like how GT does.👍

I agree that as a blog it's an interesting read and will for sure provide some inside info on the workings of PD, but they have always been very tight lipped about anything they will implement in their games, and i believe the "might happen, maybe, we are looking into it" answers will keep on being given on the blog without committing to anything.

Good thing you still have the online part to encounter some genuine racing 👍

So let me get this straight and straight now. Would you rather Kaz keep talking about his and others "lives", or would you rather hear about the game and what is set for it in the future? Seriously it amazes me that some people are okay with this 'blog' being about non Gran Turismo stuff... Stop pretending that you're okay with this.

I used to love PD and was a massive fanboy of game, not gonna lie. But due to being left in the dark for too long, I love and hate them. It's there fault for making me this way. And come on, you're smarter than that. The ignore feature is there for a reason, use it...

It's really funny to see some folks flip out when you write a post like mine, wow...

Toko they're not forcing you to read it. I personally like to read it. It doesn't have to be just about GT. My advice is to just see what happens with the game. Do we really need to know exactly what their plans for the game is? I think it is just refreshing to see that they have lives other than masking Granturismo.

I almost completely ignored this post. How long is a piece of string?

Hmmm. I guess you're right. :\ Fine, but I hope they don't go overboard talking about their 'lives' though.

You're right, it doesn't have to be just about GT. In fact, having some non-GT stuff in there is a very good idea, broaden the horizons of their audience and all that.

So far there's been an overwhelming mass of non-GT stuff, and the GT stuff has not really been anything that a long term GT fan didn't know already. Even if the plan is to fill out the blog with posts about the world of car manufacture and racing, which would be fine, they're missing those one or two posts a week about the game we love, the game we bought from them, the game that is the reason why we're even there in the first place.

If they don't write anything about their game, you might as well just go to Jalopnik or any other random car blog. Pitstop becomes just another car blog, not the Gran Turismo blog that also has a lot of stuff about cars.

...Where did Kaz talk about his life in this blog? Out of all the blog posts, he made two posts talking about the sounds of Gran Turismo. All of the other blog posts are from a GT fan who was at the Nurburgring 24h, and some new PD recruits who were also at Nurburgring. Notice how no one from Polyphony outside of the Nurburgring event posted anything, because they're obviously busy. Kaz posted because he had time. You talk about Kaz "disrespecting" you but all you care about is what you want. You don't even care about Kaz's life or any personal information that he may have written about himself, but yet demand him and Polyphony for game info. To me that sounds more disrespectful than someone not having the time to repeatedly blog post about a video game.

PD will never win, because GT gamers feel so entitled for some reason. Imagine they never post anything else besides stuff relating to game development.

Gtplanet: OMG PD takes forever to post the next blog, they're so lazy! This blog is pointless, I want my info now!

*PD or big fan chosen by Kaz to posts stuff related to racing/events/Kaz but not directly related to GT development*

Gtplanet: Where is my info! Who cares about nurburgring 24h! Who cares about Goodwood! I want game info, I want I want I want!

If PD have to worry about updating blog posts of their game developments then nothing will ever get done.

Also, during game development, things change, features get worked on but don't make it into release. If PD makes mention of anything in regards to the fans feature request but then doesn't show up in an update or GT7, then all hell will break loose on the forums.

It seems some people will never give up fighting tooth and nail in defense of PD.

...Where did Kaz talk about his life in this blog? Out of all the blog posts, he made two posts talking about the sounds of Gran Turismo.

We were all given information that our questions about Gran Turismo will finally be answered "soon" and within "a few weeks", it has now been 2 months and counting, and we are still waiting.

We were told that PD were finally going to be communicating with their fanbase more, and shortly afterwards, this blog appeared. So far, no extra communication has really happened.

It is fine for the blog to be updated with Gran Turismo related and non-related info, but so far, GTP's news section - which is entirely a fan site and not associated with PD in any way - seems to be posting several times the amount of news and GT related/non-related content.

Notice how no one from Polyphony outside of the Nurburgring event posted anything, because they're obviously busy.

I'm sure that amongst the 100+ staff, there is someone who can spare an hour to answer a few quick questions. They have had years to come up with some of the answers. If the main man himself has enough time to attend car shows, he has enough time to answer a few very repeatedly asked questions.

You talk about Kaz "disrespecting" you but all you care about is what you want... demand him and Polyphony for game info. To me that sounds more disrespectful than someone not having the time to repeatedly blog post about a video game.

It is disrespectful to advertise features and tell your paying customers you will communicate with them more, and then not deliver on either of those. It is disrespectful to promise, advertise or give the impression you will deliver on something, not deliver upon it (sometimes over the course of several years), then have no explaination, answer or apology to give to your paying customers.

PD will never win, because GT gamers feel so entitled for some reason. Imagine they never post anything else besides stuff relating to game development.

There are numerous developer teams out there with dedicated forums who frequently talk directly with their paying customers and fans, who ask for feedback and what the fans would like to see. After waiting for 8 months on advertised features, I think it is fair that we have some information as to when the content we have paid for is coming.

If PD have to worry about updating blog posts of their game developments then nothing will ever get done.

Again, other developers frequently talk directly with their fans and customers. It does not take long to type out a message, or record a video/audio message. Please explain why this couldn't be done in a few hours.
