I don't understand the hate for this blog.
It's there for anything GT related.
Be it the game itself, employee's activities, events etc.
I would suggest the GT Academy fits into that category.

It's nothing more than an additional informal PD website and a place where people can leave comments.
Much like their Facebook page but with more in-depth articles.
Read the articles if they interest you, or if not then don't bother.

But to expect earth-shattering GT6 news and then get disappointed and complain when there isn't any, is just a bit inane.

Nobody is expecting "earth shattering" news on GT6, but what's going on with it and what's new for it. That is all everybody, and me included, just wants...

It amuses me how people cherry-pick one word and focus on that while completely dismissing the rest of the post.

Allow me to rephrase that last line for you.
"But to expect nothing but GT6 news and then get disappointed and complain when there are other articles, is just a bit inane."

What you 'want' and the intention of the blog don't have to coincide.
And it's not the fault of the blog if it doesn't deliver what you 'want'.
So to complain when it doesn't ... well I'm just going in circles now.

I'm not excatly sure what you meant by "cherry-picking" a word. I dismissed nothing but read exactly what you wrote, so it's just as amusing that you assumed I "cherry-liked" any word from your post.

Also, yes, it is OK when there are other non-GT6 articles to read, but you will also want to hear and know what's going on with the game as well. So yes, expect complaining to rise when there aren't any other than updates. Some folks like me didn't buy this game because of the "GT" logo on the box you know, there were advertisement about features like the Course Maker, and we as paying customers expect to at least hear news on that other than "it's in beta stage".

And no, I'm blaming the blog for not having GT6 related news either, I'm just not caring about it anymore because honestly, isn't this blog meant to interact with fans as well? Why not talk about the game sometimes too, or is that too much to ask?

By cherry-picking I mean how you only picked up on the phrase 'earth-shattering' while not addressing the fact I said:
"It's there for anything GT related.

I would suggest the GT Academy fits into that category."

Anyway, I'm not here to argue.
You and others have their expectations, and I have mine.
And that's fine.
I'm simply expressing my opinion that I find some complaints I read here regarding the blog are a bit over the top, and therefore not justified.

What amuses me is that some people seem to have forgotten that we had a news article a while back entitled; "Kazunori Yamauchi Answers Your Gran Turismo Questions in Community Q&A" Source.

We also had another one in which Jordan clearly stated; "Most notably, however, Kazunori Yamauchi himself will be using the new blog to answer your questions posted in GTPlanet’s Kazunori Q&A forum." Source.

We've only had 1 answer so far (regarding engine sounds), but have had 22 other articles on topics that have little meaning or value to the many disgruntled customers who have spent a lot of time & effort asking some extremely important questions on behalf of the community. Not to mention the hundreds of GT Planet community members who have taken the time to read through them & vote on the most important ones that are closest to their hearts.

Imagine you have bought something from a shop which is riddled with flaws & issues. You take it back & try to speak to the manager of the shop about it, you pose many questions, but all he does is stand there & tell you about his weekend, his holiday, his hobbies, what he's been up to, what he plans to get up to etc. There's nothing wrong in him telling you about such things, & they may very well be interesting, but the manager clearly has his priorities round the wrong way. What you want is an acknowledgement of the issues, & some assurances that it will be taken care of. In short, what you want are answers.

Same thing when it comes to our age old questions (some of which date back to issues in GT5 Prologue & GT5), & this blog Kaz is supposed to be using to answer them.

:(

But the manager is not the one talking to you about that, some of his workers tell you about that stuff, and the manager is the one that tells you what you want to hear about your product.

What a surprise, an article that doesn't deal with the game and who is it written by? Someone that isn't Kaz. Love people's inability to heed advice.

What trolls... :grumpy:

Please tell me you're aware that's looks photoshopped.

I'm not sure why your own assumptions would amuse you.
It is possible that people have the ability to retain what they have read and not actually have forgotten at all.

What would be amusing is if people were under the impression that the Pitstop blog was created as a means to answer gtplanet's questions.
And the consistent complaining towards any article that doesn't address a question from gtplanet would certainly suggest that this is the case for some.

So while I understand what you are saying, I'm happy to stand by my previous posts on the matter.
It's a big world out there beyond the pages of gtplanet.
Not everything that is posted in the Pitstop blog needs to relate to this single forum.
And criticism towards every post that doesn't is frankly rather self-centred.

Anyway, I'm not here to argue.

You're not here to argue, you'd just like to say that your opinion is that other people's opinions are over the top and unjustiified. Huh?

You've edited my quote and taken it out of context.
Toko and I were starting to get into a bit of back and forth which wasn't my intention.

I have clearly stated my opinion.
I've backed up why I feel this way.
And I've expressed what I feel about what I consider to be unjustifed, constant complaining regarding the blog.
I've no intention of continuing this conversation everytime someone new decides to join in and question my opinions.
I've said all I have to say.
Take it or leave it.

Yeah, you guys have fun with that GT Academy stuff. I'll just sit here, dry and free of the elements and frostbite and nightmarish routines that would crush me.

You should probably be aware that the thing they're crawling under is electrified - as are the little strips of wire dangling down from them...

... and that Alex had, about 4 seconds before that shot, looked up a little bit and received an electrified wire directly to the forehead.

And possibly also that the word "exclusively" has never appeared in the description of the Pit Stop Blog.

It just isn't the same without live machine gun fire.... damn pussies!
