Yes you're right Ironman.
Do you guys know how the accident happened to Kaz? I mean, was it that he lost control, went too fast..? And in which section of the nurb?

Read the blog post. He explains in his own words.

I already know that, thanks. But nothing more detailed? He just says his car got unstable then crashed. Well, if no more details, no problem, maybe a video of that accident will come in YT :)

No, he explains it like this:

Rushing out of the high speed left hand corner of Klostertal in 5th gear, a car appeared in front of me.

There was a considerable speed difference, and instinctively I moved the GT-R GT3 on a racing line to the left where there was more space. At racing speed your body works before you have time to think. But immediately as I did so, the car wandered to the left, and its brake lights came on all of a sudden.

That doesn't sound like "his car got unstable then crashed".

Were the remarks this relates to derogatory? If so, who were they derogatory towards?
Just have a look through the posts before your one claiming that Canada is a country, not a race.

You seemed to imply that only by making remarks about a race and not a nationality could you be considered racist.

Just sayin'

I love that GT allows people to be a part of the car/motorsports world without really understanding it. I was just thinking about when I started really getting into GT about a year ago. I decided I was going to buy a PS3 for when GT6 came out, a steering wheel controller and so I started to replay GT3. Then I bought GT4 and at the time I had little to no knowledge of the history of motorsports but I remember doing races like the GT World Championship at the New York track and just being fascinated by the personalities of the cars. I had no idea the time and genius that went into making these cars but I could sense their personality and fighting with them in those races is I think a big part of the essence of GT. It's a unique genuine experience that gets better the more you know and love motorsports but the fact that you can experience it as a casual gamer is profound. I think thats something a lot of people who spend their days complaning on these forums would do well to acknowledge.

There's other racing games than GT you know. I see you just seem to have discovered motorsports and virtual racing recently, but it's not like GT is the only experience trying to recreate it. In fact you will be hard pressed to find any real life racing series where cars start racing crossing the start line in a seperated column and the same guy always starts last with a 30 second handicap on the one that started first.

Just checking in - my guess is still no semi-official word from Kaz or PD on the status if Course Creator yet? (Not the hazy "I have a Beta copy in my hand" with no mention of what state of development or year it may be released)

I would love to be wrong on this.

It's a unique experience, but the more you know and love motorsports the more likely you are to notice the profound differences between real life motorsport and what Gran Turismo provides.

It can be a great game, and it's great that you're enjoying it. But let's not pretend that playing Gran Turismo is in any way like real motorsport, because it just isn't.

If you are in a league like CORE WEC it is.

You're right, GT is unique and it's a very special game but at the end of the day it's not a 'concept' or a work of art to hang on the wall and admire, it's still a videogame with shortcomings and issues that are going to be discussed on these message boards. You shouldn't just dismiss people as 'spending their days complaining on these forums', we're a community discussing a game we enjoy! Some might get a little passionate about it but we all still get along.. for the most part :mischievous:

The only resemblence to real motorsports the game provides is you have cars on a track, something games have been doing for 30 years. Anything that more closely resembles motorsports is user generated, again, something any circuit racing game is capable of.

Capitals, periods and some effort on sentence structure would be much appreciated.

Depends on the "motorsport", I find. People seem to like the artificial boundaries of real life that don't / needn't apply in the virtual world, and that's cool. Some people like the politics and the engineering more than the racing itself, and that's cool too. Some people just like the image, and the apparel, which is kinda not cool.

Others just like cars.

If you are in a league like CORE WEC it is.

If you're in a league, you're using your own skills and external software/paper to make up for a lot of the things that make the Gran Turismo single player experience so unlike motorsport.

Certainly, it's possible to have an authentic motorsport experience in a good league in GT, but it's also possible in just about any game with online. I don't consider the online experience to be the GT experience, because it's almost entirely user created and defined, whereas the single player is straight from PD, as their vision of what the GT experience should be.

I agree with that 100 percent, I was just saying if you are looking for a authentic racing experience go to a league or get project cars. :sly:

grammer punctuashon capitalization and grammer please

From the AUP you agreed to when you joined:

You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.
