Leave it to PD to fully explain fish terminology in order to explain the design context of the Viziv VGT car... Nice history lesson at the end, although I was more interested in the beginning part (because 2X, of course...).

Also wow, @FrzGT, never thought of that, what an uncanny resemblance! Did Mercedes see Japanese fish too?
Fish is love. Fish is life :sly:
Fish is aerodynamic.

Fish is tasty.

Man, that just remind me of a conversation I had recently with RCKakashi about how a possible Pagani Huyara R would look like (because of the LaFerrari FXXK). He then proceded to show me several pics of bloated fish, and then when I asked him "Do you have any more fish pictures?" he showed me another picture of a fish that looked like the Nissan 370Z.

Edit brah: Oh my, I just saw your new profile picture, you're taking the concept to a whole new (wacky) level, hahaha!

Hey, you're good at this poster biz. Maybe after the Christmas avatar thing wears off, you should start a "Katsuobushi avatar" thread...

Steering this thread back on topic, how "fairly soon" we will see the 2X? Also, PD clearly sees our forums even if they don't flat out say it, because that Laser propulsion video on the blog is taken straight from people's talk about Laser propulsion here, I swear.

"The Subaru VIZIV GT Vision Gran Turismo has a great engine sound too."

That's all I needed to hear. That quote makes me happy, happy that PDI seemed to have noticed the positive response to the sound.

Although the rest of the article was actually really interesting too!

I've only just noticed that the katsuobushi article, as well as several others, was written by Takamasa Shichisawa, the father of Tourist Trophy. He was brought back to PD to work in their Gran Turismo Explore studio, which is where VisionGT came from. Despite that, he still calls himself a game designer.

What are they up to?

Either PD is actually planning to bring Tourist Trophy back for the next-gen consoles (which would make sense if they are keeping Takamasa in the team), or something else might be brewing in PD Land. Chalk another one for the "mystery pile"...

Thinking about it, I would love it if Pit Stop did more stuff like this. The bits I don't like are when they cover events like Goodwood and the WEC because people will probably get (frankly far better) coverage of such events from more established news sites, TV programmes and so on - motorsports journalism is not the developers' area of expertise. Pit Stop should instead focus on providing something no other site can - a genuinely interesting insight into the world of Gran Turismo - its design, inspiration, history and so on. This "Katsuboshi" article was a good read.

It's a Japan-only event so don't expect much. ;)

Yes, I am curbing my enthusiasm, it could just another special event for pro drivers or something similar. ;) But hey, a man can dream, right?

Edit: Yep, it is a event starring Super GT drivers. I saw names such as (Satoshi) Motoyama (Nissan driver), and Super GT teams (such as Toyota\Lexus SARD). It'll be some pro racing action.

Despite a shabby Google Translate, that's exactly what it is. Featuring:

Motoyama Satoshi (MOLA)
Wakisaka Hisashi (LEXUS TEAM WedsSport BANDOH)
Kazuki Hoshino(NDDP RACING)
Hiroaki ishiura (LEXUS TEAM SARD)

Well there you go, that one is solved. Now it is time to guess if we are going to see a random appearance by a Honda Today...
