With the PS3 looking pretty cramped and most of the horsepower used up already, I'm afraid that the real Course Maker II can only be realized properly on PS4. Which is making me hopeful that GT6 becomes GT7 Prologue with some of these goodies like the new Course Maker, Race Mod, Livery Editor, Event Maker, and whatever else Kaz and the team can bless us with.

If that's the case they shouldn't have announced it for PS3. Promoting something as a huge part of your new game and then realising you can't actually do what you've promoted is horrible business.

Well, we all do that. But those of us who dug into the first Course Maker had a blast creating curvy, dipping, sweeping road courses to fly around. And I'm hoping that we can import them into CM II, so we can trick them up a bit more. My first track, some ridiculously ambitious thing 5.6 miles long, became my co-fave course along with the Nordshleife.

Did you, Jordan, Amar, Kaz, Translator-san etc. all agree on this or is this your personal opinion?:sly:

You're hopeful that this game is just an expensive un-announced demo? Me too! I love getting screwed over! Lets hope GT7 will cost 100 dollars and only can be paid for in advance, only to find out the disc is empty!

PS4 is not needed for any of those features, however making a new course maker and other features are not as easy to add as events, courses, and cars. Those with coding experience wil know what I mean.

@Tenacious D ...I understood you. I know what you meant by "select few of us". Some people will pick on you because of the words you use. Your passionate, and at times, thats looked at as being a braggart. You being a "true fan" and "sticking with pd" are some of the things people will attack you for.

You dont have to apologise to anyone. Keeping faith in something is hard to do these days. I say this because modern society has changed to "need evidence" to believe in something. People waiting for the latest piece of news, craving for more and more is normal now. Times where you had to make due with what you have are slowly eroding. Case in point is this blog's creation. People now are accustomed to being in the loop about nearly everything. Its like PD cant work in secret anymore because in this day and age the 'fans' want to know what, where, when, why and how.

Instead of saying, "wow, what a nice thing to do for PD to tell us what goes on with recording sounds or going to the nurburgring" its EXPECTED of them. There are reasons why we didnt get dlc every month. Reasons why we dont have course maker. Reasons for everything. But thanks to the "need more" age that we live in, 'promises' like new tracks and cars before the game is even released has to be said in order for this modern age to be interested. A game as is isn't enough because weve been spoiled to expect more automatically. Sure, theres features the previous game had that are missing and we should have them for the progression of the series. But instead of waiting for it to come in an update like its said to, PD have to be specific. Again, thats not wrong, its just "getting with the times".

So what Im saying is, be passionate. Stay a fan, but realize when we live, how we live and in the society we live, theres a precedent set. PD will have to match or exceed that because its a new generation that only understands this "information age". You should understand that too, and Im sure you do. Just be careful your words, bro. You dont wanna come off cocky and be labelled. Its all too easy for that to happen on the internet when you dont have to worry about your cowardice shining through like in real life. Anyone can say anything, but it goes both ways. But I understand you, as do many others.

Kaz got into accident, contact with another car and crashed :( Hope they will make it ( fixing the car ).

Ok i will get flamed for this but i'm gonna say it anyway; i find a lot of GT fans a bit naive to say the least; sales are down a lot for GT6, many reviews are worse than ever before, tons of people have been complaining for a long time now that the series is going down the drain and PD isn't doing anything about it, so they practically HAD to do something to counter all the negative feedback no? (especially in light of the sales numbers).

Even despite all of that this community had to make the first step and literally go knock on their door in order for them to acknowledge something (anything) and now, because of this, they decide to start a blog where they will communicate more with the fans...

Immediately many here look like a dog that has just been thrown a small bone and is wagging it's tail for whatever it's master chucks at them next. I find it all a bit pathetic to be honest, if any other developer would have treated their fans like the ugly girl at the dance as PD did so far, they wouldn't have gotten away with it this easily just by starting a bloody blog.

I agree with the first part, but to say that "many here look like a dog" is a bit too much. I think you have to realize that PD is a fairly small company compared to, let's say Turn10 (who probably have their own marketing department), so it really takes a lot of effort for PD to even develop the game, let alone communicate with fans.

You also have to realize that most people at PD probably don't even speak English at all, which may have been the main reason they didn't previously communicate as much. Even now with PitStop, all the blog posts has to first be translated by someone, which is rather time consuming. I honestly think PD is putting a lot of time/effort into this... I mean, they could've just had Sony Entertainment set up a blog, but instead they've created a blog that they themselves manage, which is quite something!

So there's nothing wrong with fans appreciating PD's effort in trying to reach out to the community...yes, this communication was long overdue, but hey, better late than never! Be thankful that it's finally here (and hopeful that it'll last).

Sorry, I know I'm not as all knowingly superior as you, but I was never as butt-hurt by PD as you seem to have been. In the abscense of the features and updates I do want, all I was hoping for was better communication. This is the first majorly big step in that regard. It's a line of communication directly from the people that make the game to the fans, and the acknowledge this forum too, so it's nice to know that all our thoughts and feelings are getting registered somewhere.

I agree! Has anyone noticed how they're not using this blog (yet) to answer any of our concerns? Instead we're getting info on how PD create engine sounds, & how they like to go swanning off around the world to racing events funded by the money that we paid for GT6!

I thought the idea of this blog was to communicate with us in response to the Q&A forum, not to fob us off with a few bedtime stories. Not that I'm against that, but there is such a thing as priorities. Just answer our questions already!

Are you being serious?!

It's been up for FIVE days. FIVE.

About the small amount of employees; it has been clear they aren't enough to do the job nor meet deadlines in most cases, so why don't they just hire or outsource if they can't handle the pressure? Seeing the millions of sold copies over the years (most successful racing game franchise) + the financial backing of Sony i don't think they lack funds to expand and handle their business properly.

You also have to realize that most people at PD probably don't even speak English at all, which may have been the main reason they didn't previously communicate as much. Even now with PitStop, all the blog posts has to first be translated by someone, which is rather time consuming.
Having translators at work if they don't speak English themselves is only normal seeing you have a worldwide franchise. Hardly an excuse as any company that does business worldwide and has the majority of it's customers outside of their home country would be expected to do this.

I honestly think PD is putting a lot of time/effort into this... I mean, they could've just had Sony Entertainment set up a blog, but instead they've created a blog that they themselves manage, which is quite something
It is something i agree but it won't fix the franchise, that's why it would be nice if they would use it to give clear answers on how they are going to move forward from now on. Let's see if they do and drop the vagueness at least.

So there's nothing wrong with fans appreciating PD's effort in trying to reach out to the community...yes, this communication was long overdue, but hey, better late than never! Be thankful that it's finally here (and hopeful that it'll last).
I can appreciate the appreciation for this by the fans, but many already use this and act like they want to marry Kaz, all is forgiven, and send him a bouquet of flowers

Sorry, I know I'm not as all knowingly superior as you, but I was never as butt-hurt by PD as you seem to have been.
Good for you.

Given their track record i wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be more a publicity tool than a blog that will address questions and give straight answers, but let's see.

Yes I'm being serious. GT6 has been broken for SEVEN months. SEVEN.

Maybe Kaz shouldv'e decided not to race this year & spend his time & energies fixing this half-baked bug filled mess of a game, instead of going racing in the real world using the money we paid for GT6, & then telling us all about it on a blog that was supposed to be used to answer our questions about this broken game.

Like I said, it's all about "priorities", & Kaz is showing us where his clearly lay.

He's just set up a blog specifically for comunicating with Gran Turismo fans, and he's in the process of providing the most in-depth report on Gran Turismo's sound recording process to date. And GT pitstop was never described as 'a blog that is supposed to be used to answer our questions about this broken game' as you say it was, in their words they've 'created a new place for sharing information with Gran Turismo fans', sorry that it isn't the 24/7 grovelling apology crisis blog you were hoping for.

As mister dog says, let's see.

That wasn't what I was hoping for, you're overreacting!

What I was hoping for was that PD would maybe answer a few of our questions first, to show us how important their fanbase is to them. Then maybe share some other insights with us. I'm not really interested to read about some mystery person called EXP & about what he has packed in his bag! I think most of us would like some answers first of all. Is that really too much to ask?

The race take like 7 days each years, he have a life too.

There's a lot more to it than just showing up for 7 days to race, a huge amount goes on behind the scenes as well. I'm just pointing out that his focus & energies might be best served elsewhere.

Err most of the bugs have been fixed...?

Maybe you're right. Anyway, there are making some efforts since 2 months, we need to wait a bit before making conclusions :)

A blog is not enough, I want Kaz on my doorstep and answers all the questions then apologize ( bow down ), write and signed a letter of commitment to fulfill all of GTP's finest demands :sly:  How selfish a man can get
To be fair he already said he was "uuum sorry".

Thank you Mister Blog. The ugly girls are usually better at dancing anyway, they do it like no one is watching. Have a few beers, she isn't ugly anymore.

Well all I ever wanted was Kaz and PD to communicate with GT fans, and now their doing just that. If it was due to sales being low, well that's good too, because they have to know what their doing wrong. I was mostly complaining about wanting them to start communicating, despite wanting GT6 to be better sooo... Yeah.

Plus I like that Kaz want in depth about the engine sounds, and theres more to come! I hope Kaz talks about the Course Maker soon. (^v^)

We are the ugly girls at the dance Jimi, Kaz just finally realized we are sending him these loveletters filled with cash each month, so he decided to stop ignoring us completely and say "hello" when he passes by:

in-love-gif.gif

"OMG he acknowledged our existence and had his press chief open a blog!!"

People were constantly complaining about lack of communication. Communication happens, people complain that there is communication.

It seems complaining is the new gaming.
