The next event I will exclude any submission that doesn't supply the required details.

Perfectly understandable. If you say you need X Y Z for every submission then it isn't a submission if it doesn't have X Y Z.

OK - numpty needing help here.
Having never done this before, can someone tell me the correct format & procedure for submitting my replay?
I have transferred it from PS3 to laptop - what next please?

Rename the PS3.zip to something like: gtp_sphinx-stage-two

You upload it to the results thread.

I'm sorry about this, but I have a problem with file size.
The replay folder is 181kb on the PS3; 147kb zipped on the laptop.
Max upload size is 100kb.

I notice that on your instructions, replay size on the PS3 is 168kb, but when tranferred to the PC, the folder size is only 67.6kb (before compression).
Have I done something wrong?

if your having problems with file size, then delete the ICON0.PNG file and then zip it.

Is this considered a clean race, as i am not sure.
ignore this.

Please tell me..?.. is it ok to take a corner like this in the event..?:confused:thanks in advance

This picture shows the car from the front and you can clearly see 2 wheels are still on the track.
edk3.jpg

Pics taken by gtbadboy, replay from EDK What i mean is can i put 90% of the car on the grass. like in the picture.I understand the rumble strip is ok but,i thought that marked the end of the track for the left wheels not the right wheels.

I've run 2 sessions at this, a fairly long one on Sunday, and a shorter one last night. But nothing clean to report - Yet. :ouch:

I'll be giving it a good go tonight, I leave on a trip in the morning. Hoping to have some submittable splits to report in here tonight.

Oh, and @ thewar - That was my lap in your picture (Actually a 3 lapper in WRS Week 133), and it was legal. But I've learned enough since then by running in another 40 or so WRS events that I try my best to avoid turning in anything that close. :nervous:

But 2 wheels off track with 2 more that are CLEARLY on track is perfectly legal in the rules and a much better way to go. 👍

Only 2 clean runs so far for me...I'm finding it so hard to "not try so hard"! :banghead:

You'll need to work a little harder than that.

Off top of my head that makes you roughly half a second behind.

:nervous: I'm turning on the PS3 to extend my time I think.

Mein Deutsch ist nicht besonders gut. Obviously.

Haha, but that looks pretty good! :)

Had my first try on this race today and found it rather difficult...
I love the selection though. guess i'll need a lot of trial and error especially to avoid the ' whatsoevers ' :sly:
But really love the race, it's a good challenge, cheers  Sphinx 👍

Board updated

I wonder why so few laps are posted in this last week, must be that either all effort has been given already in SPEC II or that you lot don't like driving this combo under SPEC III conditions ... :)

Right having looked at the SPEC III leadearboard, I spotted a little mistake, GTP_Vaxen is colour coded wrong. He is in Division 2 and therefore should not be colour coded in blue but should be in orange. 👍

Well I'm seeing the reality of a 1'43 time now! If I had not brushed the wall
coming into turn one trying to avoid the AI I would be submitting right now.

This is classed as a dirty run but I will put it here to show you what you up against.

Lap 2 1'44.015
Lap 3 1'44.638

This weekend it is "on like donkey kong"

Hi there, nice laps theewar! A small request from a leaderboard updaterer: please comply to the split/laptime posting format?

Div.4 Silver
Lap2: 1'51.718
Lap3: 1'50.732

Cheers!
That's the way to do it - thanks 👍

Oops - also don't forget to mention your Registry name somewhere in your post so that I don't have to look it up for you and all other participants :)

I gotta tell you guys: I got so much respect for those times being posted here... 1'43.xxx ??? I don't even know how that's possible!! Is it true that the fastest replays will be accessible from the board? I would love to learn some tricks... Im stuck with the six-axis and realize it has its limits, but I ought to be faster after 11 years of GT :-)

SPHINX: Many times have I cursed this event and questioned its purpose... But after an inhuman amount of hours I must admit that it actually has been very useful training :-) Great job man!

Zambuca,

I use a Sixaxis, and look at the leaderboard for the Spec II results, and look at the leaderboard for the Spec III. I am up there in both.

So don't take it as a negative. Just keep practising, and you will be suprised at how well you can do with the Sixaxis. Try using different configurations with the controller.

I use the following.

Left Stick = Steering
Right Stick = Gears
R2 = Accelerate
R1 = Brake

And all the buttons are for the sundry items like in race tunning menus, views etc.

You would be suprised with how much control you have using the above configuration, e.g. you can control cornering with the shoulder buttons as there is a greater range in pressure. Much better than the buttons.

👍

HI Grim.
Got your message in the other thread and I agree - rules are rules.
I just feel bad for letting that replay go thru.

But spec III is a different story!
I checked and re checked my replay (8 times!) although it is alittle hairy out of turn 5 it's "clean".

Div2 Bronze
Lap 2 - 1,44.356
Lap 3 - 1,44.374
G25.

Not sure I can do any better.

A good method of making sure your replay is clean is passing your replay to another driver to check (via back channel communications) before you commit to the submission. 👍
