My most even battles online is defently with hyperspeed! This will be amazing ;) Looks like handpicked matches..

EDK
He is NTSC and you are PAL. Matching same region only this week. Only one World Event, and it's Daytona Oval. So we'll prbably need to find a way around that issue in the long term. :scared:

ok i didn't knew that

Could someone tell me what member is GTP_DRIV300. I'm on a mac, so the file that is up for download doesn't work for me.

Good win from Dustdriver, very close finish, a few splits after almost 20 minutes of driving

A bit of interference from other drivers, but clean driving from them at least. Very fast and respectful driving despite the competitive nature. Great race, thoroughly deserved win for DustDriver. 👍

It's a shame to go out in the first round, but racing is racing, will just have to make sure I go faster next time :mischievous:

There will be a next time right EDK ;)

Thanks for posting. 👍

I'm going to copy your post over to the main race thread as well.

And the plan would be to have a next time, yes. 👍

Yep, was a good race.
Felt a bit bad when Steve slowed down because he thought I was pushed off track.
Still very close finish, but my closer gearing helped me to keep him behind me on the final stretch.

I had a bit of a lead on Steve when he made en error in the beginning of the race.
But while battling a clio in lap 4 or so caused me to run a bit wide after 100R and lost control when I had to brake for the hairpin.
The clio was driving close to me at that point so Steve assumed we had contact and waited.
After that he was always driving around 1.5 seconds behind me.
(I actually slowed down on the following straight to let him pass, but he slowed down as well :) )
In the final laps I caught up with a Ferrari F430, which slowed me down.
Then we had a 3 way battle for like a lap, was in second after the f430 at Panasonic with Steve close.
I could then accelerate better out of the turn which brought me in the lead.
The F430 managed to pass me before the finish, but Steve couldn't close the gap in time.

Kevin (EDK),

Here is the result of my race with Aki.

Aki won :(

Just a quick commentary on the race.

Neck and neck for the first 2 laps then on lap 3 I had a wobble on the long right hander and had to lift and brake to keep it straight. This gave Aki a good 5 second lead, which for the rest of the race was maintained with me just viewing Aki in touching distance but could not gain. Game over.

There was no interference, and the only cars we came across were 2 GTRP guys. They stayed clear. one went off and the other pulled out of my way (Must of been aware of what was going on).

Oh well better luck next time for me and Congratulations Aki,good luck in the next round. 👍

Cheers Jamie.

Thanks Grim about nice words. Pity that small mistake you made... without that, it would be last straight battle for sure. Gap was just the same whole race after that.

One notification what I made when racing. We caught up two GTRP guys in the middle of the race. I caught them just when mainstraight was starting, and could have huge advantage from slipstreaming them, cause they were driving very fast big blocks... what is official opinion about this kind of situations. (I took myself out of their boost)

Thanks to Jack for stewarding our race. 👍
I will be stewarding you and Wayne if he gives me right to record your race.

And ofcourse thanks to GTP for organising this great competition!

I had the same situation Aki, and saw you move out of the draft. I noted this and I did the same as I thought it was only fair.

Nice. 👍

I think we shouldn't do that, but I was littlebit confused about that opportunity to have lots of extra speed. Other side of those situations is, that I had to stay behind them much longer because of my choice, and lost many seconds there. I'm sure you did too.

Maybe we just have to live with that kind of 'lucky beats', and take every tenth out of others if we can. If other competitor caught up 'outsiders' in different place on track, and can not have as good advantage, it's just racing then.

ps. I'm just uploading our race to YouTube... HQ is available in few hours I suppose.

Thanks again!

That's strange, what version of MacOS do you have? I'm on Leopard and have no problems viewing the file by just using the preview (highlight the file and press spacebar)

Had my race with Zed300 and i won.
we joined at the practice time as this then gives you a chance of having less outsiders and much faster GTP members which then gives you much faster drivers who pull away so then you cant draft. (try saying that in 1 breath).

Lap1: i started in p1 and pulled away much quiicker off the line but Zed was soon on my back at 100r and basically inches away from me to the end of lap 1.
Lap2: Zed300 overtakes on the pit straight but down to the 1st corner i regain my posistion as i stook to the inside on the straight giving me the inside line on the corner.
Lap3,4,5 ime still infront and its bumper to bumper racing, 100ths of a second between us at the end off each lap.
Lap6: Zed300 overtakes me on the pit straight again and keeps the lead, my back end twitches on turn 1 but luckly it doesnt spin. At the start of the staright Zed300 had caught upto a Sub 07 but he moves to the the right side as not to draft him and i move away from behind Zed300 as not to draft him and repay the favour back.
Lap7: Zed300 is in the lead at turn 1 and is closely behind the sub and ime behind Zed and again bumper to bumper racing.
Lap8: ive over taken him on the straight and make quite a large gap into turn 1.
coming into 100r i can make out Zed300's M3 twitching into the corner and soon fading away in the rear view mirror, quick look at the map and the blue dot is now way behind.
Personal best lap time at end of lap 8 and about 2-3 second lead over him.
Lap9: steering wheel feels heavy making silly mistakes that are probably costing me time and hes catching up but not to close. This is my race ime thinking in my head and 1 more lap 2 go.
Lap10: Zeds about 2 secs behind now i think, lost time myself or hes made alot up i guess.
Come screaming down the pit straight and dont catch my breaking marker and go quite wide into turn 1, make a desision of not to drive to the limit and take it easy as 1 mistake could cost the win here. Another mistake at Dunlop but recover quite well and this is one place that Zed300 kept making up time on me. Approach Panasonic and let the car straighten out this time and then floor it to the finish line.
At the end it was just under 2 seconds between us and if he had not made that mistake on lap 8 i might not have been writing this.

Thanks for your time Zed300 and all the best for future competitions.

Gongratulations uk86ze, and very nice race preview!

I could easily feel your horror.

This 10lapper heads-up competition is sooo grazy!

Thanks for the write ups on your races, guys. Keep them coming. :D

We had some background discussions on slipstream, but decided not to publish any specifc rule related to it. The one piece that IS addressed in the OLR Rules and Guidelines relates to the ahead driver.

OLR Rules and Guidelines
10: Defensive Driving:

A:

Leading cars have the right to choose their own line down a straight. They can change their racing line once while driving down a straight (Move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). As they approach the next corner, they can return to the racing line of their choice However, they're not allowed to change their line when the behind driver is directly behind and changes his line to try and make a pass. If your movement causes an accident, you're responsible.

Finally, an administrative note. 2 racers have been disqualified from this event due to violations of the GTP_Registry Terms & Conditions of Registration.

GTP_Bollocks (Division 1 Gold)
GTP_Member (Division 2 Gold)

The drivers they are paired with have been granted a bye for this week, and will be entered in next week's pairing draw.

Please do not initiate or engage in any public discussions or speculation related to this. The Terms and Conditions for Registration Can be Found Here.

I believe TwistedNav is sending the results through to Kevin, but I shall post a race report here, anyway.

Firstly, we ended up in different races. Right, reset console, start again.

I got back to first with about .4 to spare. Applied handbrake then went, I had the better start (I think it was actually 30.4 when I started moving), first lap was nice and close, second was too. Third lap arrives and we reach a backmarker, no real problems with them, got to the long right, TwistedNav is hugging my bumper like a tree loving hippy! There was a slight contact at the start of the corner, neither of us noticed it, he pulled in front of me as I didn't get a good exit out of the long right and as I brake for the left, I put a wheel on the grass at the very end, I go sideways and lost about 3 seconds. From there it was fairly even pegging, though TwistedNav was pulling away on the straights, so I guess he had R1/R1 whereas I had R2/R2 tyres. Probably about 6 seconds in it come the finish.

Well done TwistedNav, good race, just wish we could have had more racing! My fastest was a 1'46.2xx

I really enjoyed this and how about this for an idea. A league for each division with a weekly round robin?

Thanks for the writeup. 👍

It's a good idea you have. Of course, we already have the WRS. But it could be a neat opportunity, always having an official online event.

First and foremost, we are going to get through this one and learn as much as we can from it. But I'll definitely keep that one in mind for future discussions. 👍

Obviously the WRS will always be (look up infinity in a thesaurus), but to have a GTPer vs clock and a GTPer vs GTPer running side-by-side would be damn good. May be easier upon arrival of private rooms, whenever that may be.

I'm using leopard too. Whenever I download the file, it takes my to mac excel. My trial is over and it will not let me view the file.
