Yep, its very touchy and very annoying. In my opinion Forza's livery editor should be made compulsory for any racing game with customizable liveries.

As much as I like Forza's livery editor, I think SMS Should've taken the one good thing NASCAR 09 had: Paint Booth.
 
Just done with my Megane RS, took me too many hours.. Not sure yet if it's done though, still a lot of empty space on the car. Would put some decals on it but still have the same problem with the pixelated decals so it would just ruin the car. Will probably wait for 1.03 to see if it gets improved. If not, the Megane RS will probably stay like this.

Also for if you're wondering, yes the flags were a huge pain in the ass.
 
Nice Evo, Tribolik! And the curves on the Mazza are beautiful, just not my cup of tea, colourwise. But you re really good at this! Makes me wish you could share and trade liveries.
 
thank you very much it is very nice t read that ;) if I could I would give you some liverys too bad we cant :( . The Evos livery is a copy of another livery I saw for the SCC DBR 9 so I cant take credit for the design.... but Ive put a lot of work in this liverys, expecially because the game always seems to change the geometry a bit until it gets tired or I find a spot for the stickes that the game thinks its ok....
 
I know, man... remember, I had these angle problems even before you. I recently tried to experiment with liveries only made from scaling and skewing, without any angles in them, to avoid those problems. Not easy to come up with something good by that, though, especially since the skewing is also way too unprecise like the moving and rotating. Plus most car bodies are angled a lot, which makes it extra hard to come up with something angle-free. :crazy:
 
Haha, that last pic is great... has some Herbieness to it, a swirling Escort in front of all those 911s, GT40s and Cobras! :D

For your liveries, maybe you should align the graphics to the cars lines more, for the escort especially. Maybe it would look cool to put a very low but wide stretched red triangle at the top of the red part on the rear fender.

BTW @ tribolik: Man, those pics dont do your NSX justice! I only realized how great this livery is when I saw the pics of it on the track! Wow! :dopey:

Yes I know the light in the garage isnt all that good - you cant see the matte vinil/ chrome paint contrast very well with that light.
This was a very simple and fast livery (maybe the fastest I made) and its one of my favorites...
Ive just finished my favorite livery (gallardo works) a few days ago but as people here dont seem to care much about the custom liveries in this forum I wasnt thinking of posting it here... but I will if you wish to get some ideas... because for example - I really like to come here and see the liveries so that can use some ideas on mine.

EDIT well even if you dont want to see it Ill post anyway :D

This is now my fav car - with this livery and terronium tune.... the AI on the hardest difficulty can even get close - it even isnt funny anymore - dont know why it is that fast because its not my skill and thats for sure...:ouch:

Alright, started to play with visual customization... what a pain!
Can someone get me started - how do you change the color of say a stripe - I can scale, rotate, move, flip, but where is the color changed?

Hit R2 (PS3) and you'll get 3 sliders for colour changing. Thats if the colour can be changed on the item, some of them can't as far as I've been
able to discover

Then again, its very easy to make your own stripes out of primitives 👍

ps. Heres the Lotus Cortina I'll be using in Zeeco_9's online Legends series

You should really send your stuff to SMS, I dunno what you do for a living but if you can get those results out of the that horrible POS livery editor, imagine what you could do given the right tools!

RacerPaul, your Cortina is really nice as well, I might get back to doing something with the classic cars too... but I gotta finish Burnout Paradise before! Damn you Sony for giving out such great freebies! :D

One question: I see some of y all putting stickers on the rear spoilers, how is that possible? Is it car specific? I thought you couldnt do that...

Yeah I know but it was late at night and I was too tired for that. Numbers are always such a pain in the behind. :indiff:

But you know what: The Capri looks also very cool from cockpit view with the graphics on the looooong hood! :D
