Omg GT6, you put out new seasonal events, but payout is low?

It's a very small amount of grinding compared to what I remember in the old GT games.

Things have changed obviously, I remember when people used to love difficult games that took ages to complete and the sense of achievement it would fill you with, nowadays too many people want everything handed to them and for things to be easy, I can't see where the satisfaction in that is. And yet, even though games are generally easier and quicker to complete than ever before, people complain more than ever about it.

I hate to think what it's going to be like in another 10-20 years time. Thankfully I'm easy going nor do I mind a bit of hard work. I've cheated a couple of different games before to unlock everything early, having access to everything was cool for a very short while, but then what is there left to achieve? I feel much better for having to work towards my goal.

Well for one online has become a huge part of gaming, and it's something that PD has failed to adapt to. With how bad their AI is online is where the challenging racing is at, in leagues with other people.

I don't have the time like I did in high school to sit around and grind all day. I work a full time job and have other aspects of life that require attention and time away from the Playstation. So yes, I would like a seasonal races that pay well and not hot lap challenges that pay very little. Has nothing to do with wanting anything handed to me or not having to feel satisfaction for wasting time blasting rolling chicanes that are GT's offline AI.

Grinding is a chore. Luckily I haven't had to, but it's the one thing that will shorten your enjoyment of the game.
One of the problems is that GT5 had gift cars galore, iirc you got prize cars for many more championships etc.

Ya know thinking back to gt1 and gt2, comparative to gt5 and gt6 there is no grinding in gt5 or gt6. But I also don't mind spending hundreds of hours playing a game to get what I want from it.
The MTX is cr@p but I think that of all MTX, guess I'm old school in that I paid for the game I should get a quality product, we did mostly, not going to gripe about anything cause it's all been covered already.
I just treat the AI as moving obstacles on the track, that's all they are out well be worth.
I play the game for the challenge of tuning the cars, and driving cars I'll never own in real life.

There are plenty of mindless sheep out there, who worship the ground the "almighty kaz" walks on. Of course they fail to realize, he is walking to the bank with their money.

Given that you feel so bitter about not getting value for money, how about moving on and give up torturing yourself with your disappointment in these forums. Find something that gives you joy and happiness. Somewhere else.

Frankly, when I divide what I paid for GT5 and GT6 by the number of hours of entertainment I have so far enjoyed, I'm more than happy with the result. I don't begrudge one cent that has gone to PD.

I dont even play the game anymore. So since you seem to be a stalker that knows of all of my negative posts on this garbage game, you should be aware that I gave my copy to a neighbor and went back to GT5 to find some challenges

@mikeymc92, I'm sorry you feel like I have stalked you. I hadn't. I was basing my comment on that single post which seems to say it all. So I suggested you move on and deal with your bitterness elsewhere.

However, since you suggested I look at all your negative posts, I did so. Wow!

I waded through the first couple of pages of your posts, and yes, they are negative! You must really hate that neighbor to whom you gave the game, and hate us for enjoying the game since you told us the "gave it to the neighbor" story so many times.

Please get some help and move on. You are not playing GT6, so move to the GT5 forums and enjoy yourself.

See, it's this thinking and "if you don't like it play something else" that irritates me. Don't you think if some people had the means they would? I would love to build a new gaming PC and get back to PC sims that I used to play. GTR2, iRacing, etc. But the $500 I spent on my gaming PC back in 2006 doesn't cut it anymore. I invested in a PS3 for GT5 which was supposed to be on par with the PC sims, but it wasn't, and I don't have the money to go out and drop another $1000 that it would take to build a future-ish proof new gaming PC to get back into better sims.

There's something wrong with game design when the TT payouts are anywhere close to the cost of the cars to enter them:lol:

Lol yes.... it's pretty much ridiculous.:nervous:

I don't mind griding, but this piss me off to be honest. It's not that we used to like grinding and now we are lazy and we want everything in few time, i just ask (we ask) for some meaningful payout.
And i hate RedBull, that alien car should not exist in this game  !!!!

I remember the old GT games as well. I also remember the car count was lower, the car prices were lower and there was no online. I also NEVER remember getting a sense of achievement from grinding. No virtual car has every given me a sense of anything other than I get to virtually drive it. Give me a tough and progressive single player that actually rewards skill and effort I'm all for it. But that's not what grinding is. It's mindless boring repetitiveness that does nothing to show skill.

It's getting quite tiresome reading people who obviously want and enjoy the grinding tell others who can't stand it how wrong they are, and how they're some kind of free loader wanting everything handed to them. That's not the case at all, but it makes people seem superior so they'll keep repeating it. What people actually do want, like I said above, is a good and challenging career that actually rewards proper racing with reasonable access to all the cars....not running the same can't lose race over and over again just to get credits hoping to maybe someday drive some of the more expensive cars.

I wasn't saying "if you don't like it play something else", I was saying "if you don't like it whine somewhere else".

Ok, where else can people voice their displeasure with PD where they will actually see/hear it? It's already been made known the feedback from gtplanet had a lot to do with the additional regulations you can set online, and the community features (we still haven't seen).

The argument can be made, if you don't like seeing people complain about a bad game in the best place for the developers to see it, don't read them, or join another forum.

I've already made it known that I'm not bashing GT just for the sake of bashing GT in other threads on this site. I want GT to be better, because it should be better, and the only way that will happen is if they hear it from their fan base/customers.

I'm all for constructive feedback as a way to improve the game. That's why I have submitted a large number of threads under the Suggestions sub-forum, each carefully thought out, and presented as clearly as possible.

I just don't think that statements like the following are either constructive or valuable in improving the game, do you:-

"There are plenty of mindless sheep out there, who worship the ground the "almighty kaz" walks on. Of course they fail to realize, he is walking to the bank with their money."

Neither do I, which is why I just ignore them.

I do not agree. If they were truly trying to get you to buy credits, they wouldn't allow the redbull grinding which everyone has already mentioned.

Redbull grinding is really only valid for players if they have a wheel setup. For all but the exceptionally gifted DS3 users, this is not an option trying to control these pieces of garbage. I consider myself a better than average driver, but with the DS3 these things are almost impossible to control and not worth the time to spend in conjunction with RL trying to manage, let alone master.

Can't say I agree with that, I find the Standard Red Bull to be quite easy to drive and I am average at best with DS3. Even with no SRF that car is very easy to drive and grind with, just my opinion although I do find the Red Bull events very tedious to grind. :(

Hi Shep...long time no speak without a trading market mate.

I'm not sure if it's me but I had a go at the standards a few weeks ago just prior to the latest update. It was somewhat difficult but I could see potential there for me to manage through. I placed 4th in the championship with the greatest difficulty eing holding my place when getting smashed by the AI. After the update, it was much more difficult than it hd been previously. As I said, I'm not sure if it was just me but that's what happened.

About earlier GT games:
I recently replayed GT1 and won every series at least once except the two longest endurance races. I didn't race any series more than twice (except the Sunday cup, which I raced 3 times) and still had enough money to buy or upgrade the cars required for the next races. I think that's a decent in-game economy. o.o

The most expensive cars cost 500000 and you could get 362000 by winning every race in the normal or tuned car cup (5 races, 5 laps each). I think that's an okay grind for the most expensive cars in the game.

About microtransactions:
I think it's a rude move to charge people extra just to play the one-player game in a different way. If you knew your target market included "busy people" or "sim racers" who just wanted to drive certain cars in certain situations without going through the career mode progression, you should have just built an alternate pathway through the game for them that didn't involve extra money. Maybe unlock all the cars from the start in the arcade mode, or have something like the "bonus items" systems from previous GT games that would unlock cars for arcade mode very quickly.

I think Polyphony Digital is lucky Turn 10 made very similar moves with microtransactions and got at least as much backlash for it. =/

About grinding:
I think grinding is a pathway which less skilled drivers can take to make progress in the game. They put in more time to compensate for less skill. Meanwhile, the skilled drivers should be able to progress through the career mode with little or no grinding.

If you want to buy the most expensive cars in the game, I think it's acceptable to require even the skilled players to do SOME grinding. That said, they should always be rewarded for making the game harder for themselves - stuff like using a lower power car or driving with less assists.

You know I thought GT6 would be much better if we could just buy every car when we wanted, not sure now as it seems to have taken the fun out of it somehow.

As for the Red Bull thing, just use RS tires & no TC and it's really easy, you do on occasion get punted by an ai but nothing too bad.
