Oookay, who is up for another tuner challenge?

I've gone through 3 PS2s on my 4th. A chubby, and two skinnys. I am using a chubby from my friend since he got a 360 and rarley plays ps2

I probably should've emphasized that when I said "I'll judge promptly," I meant "as promptly as possible." That means next week, when I'm at my dad's house, which has my wheel setup. But, I will get it done, I assure you.

Also: Yummy.

:sly: [smugness]Told you that my 3000GT is good.[/smugness]:sly:

Considering they're not the best Japanese car in the game (but they are the coolest :P), they cetainly have been doing well in Tuner Challenges.*Recalls my Tougue 3000GT*

My Stagea got 5th but with 92 points, I guess competition this year is pretty close. :D

My RUF got killed.

Shows difference in driving styles however. In my tests I would have ranked the 3000gt towards the bottom.

Good results, I know the gearing is off, but I just don't like messing with the tranny really, suspension is more my game

I think finally entering something into these competitions has made me realize something about the tuning scene, from the tuner's perspective

You can build and tune a car 'till its the fastest thing across the net, break records through raw potential, and maybe discover new philosophies for a setup, but then once you see it put through a real test against others, and finally see exactly how "good" something is, you, or I really, see it's not the fastest or whatever that matters, but improving that 'initial' drive you get from behind the wheel, and sharing that with others, that's what really counts in the tuning community

I came into the comp boasting my Evo would be like the X, super and all, but I see now the car wasn't all that, but it could've been better had I just taken pride out of the equation, and put more effort into the areas I didn't bother to mess with

I already know the moment I get back to college where my GT4 setup is, a lot of cars are getting re-worked as well as a few project idea's I've yet to buy, but that's still a couple of day's away

So, when's the next comp ?:mischievous:

I'm happy about the outcome of the AWD TT, Being a small shop. I placed well for my first time out.

I got a new disk, and now if anything happens to it it will cost me .99 cents

I should have mine up tomorrow, I only have the CTR to do. Vince's judging is a lot closer than mine is, I'll say that though. :P

please tell me I'm so good.., :sly:

hey Leo, looks like you and I are once again neck-and-neck on AWD.., :)

@ Vince - how the heck were you able to pull off a 2'01.xxx at GVS with my Spec-C?? the best I could do was a 2'04.xxx, maybe even slower..,

Well I just went and had a look at the first judging for AWD category, and I'm happy with my marks. I didn't go too far into playing around with the car to give it a really nice balanced tune but I'm very happy with the results given. I'll take note of what you said Vince and revise it later on to be placed in my garage.

 Everyone's talking about this in the past tense. Is it over?

I will do judging, but only can get to it next week.

Awesome! I typed this in the dark!!

d24/7, believe it or not, I was even quicker than that at GVS. You'll see after my results go up. 👍

:eek::eek: WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!?!

*edit - check out my new avatar :sly:..,

Better not be, RWD hasn't been touched and I want a better mark on my Megane in FWD. :D

d24/7 - I just checked the times and it's a lot faster than Vince's time....maybe your car suited my style a lot more. ;)

same here, months of testing and tuning with the Spoon and only 62 points?? cut me some slack, man..,

well I have to admit the Spec-C is tuned towards grip.., I just noticed that setting the VCD to 10 created horrendous understeer :scared::yuck:.., it was tricky setting the LSD and VCD at the same time, but somehow I managed to pull it off.., :sly:

[yoda]More practice you need, my young padawan. Extensive testing with these devices, you should do. Master any drivetrain after that, you can. [/yoda] ;)

let me guess.. you lower my points because otherwise your car doesn't have a snoflake's chance in hell? :P

Thanks guys for your positive replies on my judgment:)

Rotary was wondering why I'd given Nuro such a good score because when he'd set up the car it understeered a lot. Simply put, I did not have noticed it did.

My RUF got killed.

Shows difference in driving styles however. In my tests I would have ranked the 3000gt towards the bottom.

@ AdamGP: I am sorry about your RUF, it's just that you where naturally handicapped by your car. The CTR2 is lacking front tire grip. But since car choice is also part of a tuners expertise, I had to dock points. Kind of awkward LSD settings killed the rest of it really. The good thing about these challenges is that you really learn much, so I hope you've learned that if you're not sure about how to set things up, you can always ask us. :)👍

@ Kurei: I'm glad you've realized that. Good luck with reworking your setups, hope you share them with us when you're done.
Your Evo really was good, just that it was caged in a too short 5 box made it a bit sad. Even on the straight of GVS it soon got out of breath, too soon really...

please tell me I'm so good.., :sly:

Well, simply put, ITS A WONDERFUL CAR!;) haha.👍

And your so good. Happy now?

Haha, no it's not over. At least I hope so! I'm stunned RWD hasn't been touched jet... Is it that much work? :P Hmm, I'm thinking of starting a thread in the main GT4 page of this forum just for getting judges into here..

Let's see what Mafs thinks. :D

Erm, he's judging AWD where he has no entry Leo...

 BURN!!

Don't worry Leo, you'll still have my Hilux using your MR2 as a speed hump soon enough in RWD. :D

As for my thoughts, they should be up today.........if I can get the locks changed on the new car, my wife broke the only key in the lock so that comes first. :irked:

Whats wrong with my car choice? Sure, I could have picked some low powered japanese car and equip it with a wing, VCD, AYC, etc., but I didn't. I picked the RUF as more of a personal challenge, not to place first in this competition. The RUF works great for me, running 7:30's around the 'Ring, and 2:00-2:03's around GVS. Thats why I entered it. The setup may seem odd to you but it works for me.

Too bad you didn't like it. But like I said in my earlier comment, the car you gave 1st place to, I would have ranked last. As I said before, difference in driving styles.

I'm not complaining and I haven't lost any sleep crying over finishing last. Just wanted to vent a little.

That's not very nice, we should all be happy to use what ever car we like without being docked points for it.

Paulie, it's not really that he was docked for choosing the car he wanted to use... More the fact that we can't GIVE points back for choosing a disadvantaged car. If it understeers, it understeers, and it's going to lose points for that!

[Yoda]No! Try not. Do.. or do not. There is no try.[/Yoda]

[anakin]yes, I'll do it, master.[/anakin]

:sly::sly::sly: but, I have to admit, it's kinda like "de ja vu".., I am again disappointed in the division I hope to have a high score (FWD) but I get a high score in the division I least expect to get a high score (AWD).., :indiff: but still, a 98 is still a 98.., :sly::)

BUT IMO it gains double the points if a great portion of that understeer is removed..,

My point exactly, just making sure you didn't immediately loose points in the first place for choosing a known car to handle badly. That's where the tuner comes in, if we take a bad car and make it good, instead of taking a good car and making it slightly better (what most people do :P), we stand to do better in points IMO.
