nice touch I thought that was what your talking about. The car has to be good on all different kind of tracks:):sly::dopey::cool: Any horsepower Caps on the cars?

About allaround tunes, that propably means other places than test track

No horsepower caps but it WILL be run on S3s and I want driveability to be a large portion of grading over brute force and speed. Now if a car is ridiculously easy to drive AND fast as all hell, then obviously it will do well.

Yeah, might help.

it probably almost died because the thread poster didn't do anything with the idea yet (no offense or anything). We still need our rules, class information, etc., and then once that's up I'll start working on some tunes. I'm sure we have enough tuners and testers to get this started now...

edit: nevermind, I'll search for the class information now and see what I can do :)

TCv4 seems to be a go guys.

Just so we dont spam the main thread, I declare this to be our TCv4 chat thread.

So, anyone got any cars in mind already?

FWD - Not decided yet.
RWD - Not decided yet.
4WD - I got a nice suprise for y'all.
N3 - I have an idea, but past experience is holding me back from executing it.

I have a nice ff for you guy's. I might do another car to rwd. I will see. All I will say is that it's low on power though that's it

So it's a go then.

rwd - definately have many posiibilities, but which one depends upon what track will be used.
fwd - I got a couple in mind
awd - no idea
n3 - this'll be a new one for me, never used n3 tires on a car.

My 4WD is coming along nicely. :D

Has some understeer issues though, but this is early stages so I'm not suprised. This is a car I've failed at tuning in the past, so I'm determined to get it right for TCv4. :P

Track used is up to judges.

I'm only entering one class, 4WD, nothing else

It is my specialty, and with what I'm bringing in, it should be a cake walk 👍

Nah, I sold that and got another, more street-worthy one, I've started going a lot more realistic with my car's lately

My entrant is an older model 4WD, one I haven't touched in a long time, but it's been in development for a while before this challenge came up, then it came around and I figured what better test ?

All I gotta do is double check everything tomorrow and then once other entrants show, I'll post mine

I'd like to have a go at this, but am a fairly terrible driver and tuner.

Would anyone be interested in collaborating on a tune? And would this fall within the rules Rotary Junkie?

If it's okay with RJ, interested parties should PM me. Players of average- or below average-ability would be preferred, cause we might both learn something!

Hmm...

I don't have too much of an issue with it so long as nobody else does.

I'm really not expecting to come up with a competitive tune, just a place to get a bit of feedback. Would it be better (n)etiquette to post that sort of stuff in a separate thread and leave tuner competitions to established tuners? Am unsure, cause I haven't been around for a tuners' comp before.

Also, what about judging? Are there appointed judges and, if so, are others allowed to leave comments on the cars? Can you comment if you have a car in the comp (ie, conflict of interest)?

Sorry if these questions are answered in previous tuner comp threads, but I really don't have the time to check. If I did have the time it would be spent (god forbid) playing GT4.

Also, thanks for the quick reply RJ. Do you have an RSS thing setup for the replies? How does I do that?

EDIT: I just noticed I asked six questions in one post. Sorry about that.

No, I was just on and I'm a true GTP addict...

Hmm...

I'm all for getting fresh blood into this so I'm going to say yes to letting you perhaps work with others on your car.

RE: Judging... I think the best way to run it would be somewhat like TCV2, where judging is open to anyone and everyone so long as that person does not have an entry in the class they are judging (IE if you don't enter N3 you can judge N3). However if someone does judge a class their car is in it's fine, it just won't be counted in final scores.

N3 Class... Nice. I might judge that, I don't know. Maybe a big event like this (?) would be enough to get me back into GT4.

N3 Class... Nice. I might judge that

Bugger that, mate, enter a tune. It seems RJ is letting anyone in (eg., ME), so would it not be best for all involved if you entered a tune? Just thinkng...

Well my 4WD fell flat on it's face. :ouch: Back to the dealerships...

But I do have my RWD entry complete. :D

It is best for all parties involved that I don't get anywhere near that settings sheet. Within minutes, it approaches mad-scientist levels. And that's just transmission.:yuck:

The only way I can feel a car has been done right is if I hadn't done it. In very few games can I improve a car via tuning (2; Enthusia and Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2).

Hurry up and start entering tunes so I can decide who's tune to start cheering for.

FWD: I'm trying to decide between 2 cars: 1 I have a setup for already, the other I have yet to tune
RWD: I've got a car but no tune
4WD: I'm stumped as to what to use, especially since I want something different from everybody
N3: Got a car, just no tune and no idea how well it will work

after school today I'll work on my cars some more.

I got a fwd and awd car lined up almost ready to go.

Having trouble deciding on a rwd car. On one hand I got a car that I got dialed in pretty well, and has potential to do well in this competition. On the other hand, I could gamble and go with a high powered pre-1980 classic that I built also. On the third hand, I got a truck I could enter.

No idea on an n3 car.

hmmm.. I'm considering of bringing some of my old entries.. the 120i and Focus for example.. although, there are few other options as well.. we shall see if I can muster up enough motivation.:)

I'm sure you can gather enough motivation to copy and paste, Leo. :P I'm planning on bringing back a TCv3 entry too, but not before reworking the settings.

Currently my RWD and FWD entries are pretty much done unless I find anything wrong with them during the week.

Well I just lit the fire under the 4WD class, let's see if anyone has what it takes to put it out

I also went through my garage recently, and stumbled upon an old FF of my, an unofficial "Type R" of sorts, and I may enter it if the competition looks fun :D
