Oookay, who is up for another tuner challenge?

Man, the more I drive my Evo, the more confident I become with it, It may well be the closest thing to Evo X handling we'll get in GT4...

It turns and behaves similar to the X, like a S-AWC prototype of sorts

Right now I'm just curious as to what Leo brings :scared:

I drove your car not bad IMHO I tested it against mine and were very close lol

To be honest, I can't imagine my 4wd entry going down too well. But maybe handling will outgun sheer output. We shall see.

Edit: Ok, I have released my FWD entry to the public.

I'm not going for Roj's Supra any more, someone entered a C4 Corvette so that's what I'm going for.:sly:

How did I know you'd jump ship at the first Corvette? :P

Oh well, one Corvette wont scare the Supra. And that Vauxhall you entered is going to be sent back to Halfords after this. :mischievous:

Probably not, the Corvette has 507 supercharged horses, the judges will probably be scared away by that and give awards to easier to handle cars. I have a feeling the Tigra will be criticised for not being fast enough.

Hahaha. Only time will tell. :sly:

I got my FF ready and I have to say, its scary fast for a FWD. :scared:

Do we need a list of entrants compiled by categories? I just made up a rough one fr my own noptes and thought it may be useful? Should I type it out? I just figutred out how to hyperlink the toher day so I 'spose I could do that.

Sorry for typos, too busy to bother

I got a rwd that will run with the Corvette, give the Supra a good scare too.

I'll put some final tweaks on it today and maybe post it tonight.

Muhahahahahaaa, it's nearly ready.. my AWD monster will wipe the floor with that puny Evo and Stagea.. :mischievous: it's a promise, atleast when it comes to handling.

I'd love to see you actually pick up a 1400-odd kilogram Stagea and start wiping floors with it. :sly:

The Stagea maybe (it's pretty heavy for S3's), but to out-do my Evo in handling would be something, then again I don't know what your bringing so I can't really say much...

But I am literally bringing a 'Evo X' of sorts to the fight, I just have to have faith in the Judging criteria for it to win

If ony we had a Cobalt SS in the game, that thing's fast.:mischievous: Maybe in GT5 we will.:mischievous::mischievous:

So I was messing around in GT4, and realized I forgot to post the LSD settings with my Evo's setup, but I've corrected it, so don't test it without them !

That aspect is really crucial to the car's front end behavior, and vital to the car's success here

(I always forget something, don't I ?)

So excited to be first in the 4WD division you forgot half the settings eh? :P

It happens to all of us, its no big problem.

hmm hmm.. I'm not sure at all about my FF entry.. and in AWD category I have two possibilities.. either complete lunatic that loves burnouts and hooliganism or bit more traction-oriented vehicle..

My Stagea cant do standing burnouts. :(

My FWD is written up, just need a nice pic. Onwards to N3!

Hey RJ, wasn't that Acura scrapped for the Tougue challenge in favour of the Type R?

Can we assume that N3 entries are going to be lower-hp cars? The only decent cars I've ever tuned sit around 70-80hp (not joking, so stop laughing). If (for example) I entered an 80hp monster carrying 200 ballast, and explained it is an Aspec tune, can we assume the judges will assess it as an Aspec tune instead of comparing it to a Spec-C drifter on N3s?

This is all highly theoretical, cause the next couple of weeks are looking pretty bad for GT4 time and I doubt being able to do something. However, I have a pissant little econobox that I plan to flog around a few 200pt races, and figured I could kill two birds with one stone.

These may be stupid questions, but I haven't been around for the first three Tuner Challenges, so am a newbie in this sense.

Looks like RVV are taking on the FF Division with i-VTEC power.

N3 entries are going to be all shapes and sizes PF. Maybe the majority being in the 200bhp range but I can sense someone may try and push the boundaries of N3 performance and maybe bring something with a lot more power.

No idea on what the judges will be judging the cars on until RJ posts the critera.

I got my rwd entry just about perfect, then lost it. It's coming back to me though I won't be able to post it tonight.

Judging...

Comfort: 0-25, 25 being best. By comfort I don't mean ride quality, I mean the car is easy to drive fast, and doesn't make you work hard to keep it in check at the limit.

Cornering attitude: 0-25. Does it understeer excessively? Dock points. Oversteer excessively? Dock points. Does it do both? Kill it.

Cornering prowess: 0-25. Basically, how fast it can go through the twisty bits.

Power-to-capability: 0-15. Is it too much for the chassis tuning? Can it take more? Or is it right around where you, the judge, feel it should be?

Perceived possible improvement: 0-10. How much quicker do you feel the car can be made? Lower = more improvement possible, higher = the tune is closer to "right". Base it not only off cornering but the gearbox's tuning as well (can the car be kept more or less in the power band at all times? Is acceleration well balanced with where the car tops out? etc)

Now then... Total it up, and there's the score. But list the individual scores as well.

TRACK SELECTION... The track you use should be somewhere you're familiar with that provides a somewhat unbiased gauge of a vehicle's performance (IE not somewhere that's all high speed corners, and not somewhere that's all low speed).

Why not just tack the judging onto the end of the submission thread. It's convenient ("I can't find the car!"), lets you not start a new thread, and it won't really detract from the function of the thread anyway, for if the judging begins, the submissions end.

Also, I have no idea what you mean when you speak of the lap-time scoring. Perhaps it would appear less confusing to me if you retitled it to something more appropriate? (A laptime comparo which promotes discarding laptimes is a tick hypocritical, yes?)
