Oookay, who is up for another tuner challenge?

I'm starting to feel confident my Corvette will be faster than nearly all the others, at least I can go for "fastest in competition" award.

:idea:That's what we should do. Give special awards like that, such as fastest in competition, most powerful engine used, anything you guys can think of. I know those 2 awards sound like they'd be just for me :sly: but you know, I gotta win something.:dopey:

Faster doesn't always mean better Holdenboy ;). But yeah, special awards would be nice... that way you can win something... :sly:

My Supra has 150 less horses yet could probably keep up with your Corvette on any straight. :P

actually your supra is probably quicker.. stock supra can do 300km/h+ with ease without oil change.. Corvette can do about 270-280 due the silly gearing.

Hey! Got some questions:
1) Does your reply (Rotary) mean that I can re-enter a RWD class car?
2) Are cars that are only 'Won' able to be entered? (Won AND/OR are street/prototype)
3) You do/do not worry about Airdam/Spoiler/Ballast in a tune?

I been tuning and testing as time permits. Now I need to transfer data to the PC. Some funny notes - make sure the tires are set before comitting, I had the wrong tires on a tune and about finished it when I noticed they were the wrong ones, laff!

I have 2 tracks I use to dial in my cars; The Nurb, and the Capri Rally (Costa di Amalfi).
The reasons being that these two tracks seem to encompass much of what a car should be able to negotiate (I suppose Seattle would be cool too, except ya don't win a cash car in seattle at the same time(i dont think...)).

I like to set cars up with even/balanced tire wear, or at least to the point where, despite the uneven wear, still has decent driveability in the deep-orange/red wear levels.

It's cool that as I tune, I'm learning a bit more than I thought I would experimenting, and that there are more than one way to deal with the issues I've been encountering! It has also made me a better driver doing so.

Man I love this game! 8o)

I should get a special award for my 350Z, it has 350 prancing ponies :D. And as the saying goes Holdenboy, power is nothing without control... but it's cool if you have both :). My car doesn't even wheelspin now, so it's good anywhere... for now.

If there's an award for giving the driver motion sickness, my Evo could probably take it

Tested it on the skidpad this morning and it pulls 1.2g's flexing the throttle every now and then, If I can get the speed to stay constant it's about 1.3 g's

What's your lunch say to that ? :sly:

Yes you may re-enter RWD.

Prize cars are allowed but it's somewhat preferable you don't use something excessively hard to get.

DO worry about downforce and ballast on a tune.

I've made up this list for my own notes, if you see a mistake, please let me know.

A stock Supra can't do 300km/hr, not IRL anyway. I tuned my Corvette's gearbox, it can go much faster now I'm sure.

My RWD and AWD entries have now been posted.

Both have well over 500hp and can do 200mph.

Big power FTW!

What do you think my tuning is for?;) I haven't actually played GT4 in like a year, but from memory the C4 was not bad.

Mmm... I remember I was going to put in the Z06, with a supercharger, but the wheelspin was horrible for tight tracks. The cornering was weird too, if you point it into the corkscrew, it'll end up in Montegi...

The C5 with a supercharger was wild! That was 600hp.

my Spoon EK9 is up, still thinking for a car to enter RWD..,will not probably enter AWD, idk..,

BTW, can i use ballast?? because I used quite a heavy ballast on my tune..,

Darn right!

To settle this I made top speed runs in a '97 Supra and a GS Vette, before and after oil changes.

Before OC:
Supra: 174.6 mph
GS: 175.0 mph (5th gear)

After OC:
Supra: 179.7 mph
GS: 180.5 mph (5th gear)

The 'Vette doesnt have goofy gearing, 6th is an overdrive gear to increase gas mileage when cruising on the highway.

Your Corvette is not bad at all. It was the target when I was building the Cobra R.

If only we had the C6. I love the C6

Yes, I love the C6 also, which is why I use it online in GT5:P where ever it's allowed to enter pretty much.:sly:

Uh oh, Tori's Spoon, no way my Tigra stands a chance...........maybe you could intergrate this challenge into the story later? You'd have to buy some of our cars though.:sly:

Darn right!

My car a benchmark, nice.:) See, Corvette's faster than the Supra and neither reach 300km/hr. Say, if mine was a benchmark, what top speed does it get now if you have it there already?

So I see Kurei and d24/7 have also brought Hondas to the FWD party, good stuff. :D

Thanks to college, I wont be able to properly get a N3 tune done until Wednesday. :ouch:

Try max power Supra vs max power Corvette, see whats faster then. :D

Corvette still. Supra will spin it's power away. On my estimations the superchargers in GT4 must be running on around 4-5psi, where the turbos on Japanese cars would be running 20psi or more in some cases.

my fwd and awd are ready. I was aiming for handling instead of power and speed, thus I wish they'd be tested on tracks that suit them. I'll put up the settings soon.

It'll spin until it finally can put its power down then it'll blow past the Corvette at 200mph. :sly:

As far as I know there's nothing against it, I'm using it to simulate the effect the 'swapped' B16 my del sol has on the chassis (weight balance, etc), so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to

Your Spoon EK9 and my del sol should make for good rivals 👍

And I will throw in my good old FTO, adjusted to work on sports tyres. :mischievous: and AWD entry is Mitsu 3000GT SR'98

This competition is being overrun by Hondas, my Renault may be in trouble. Thats ok, I didn't put much effort into the fwd class. I was actually contemplating entering a Chevelle with the instructions to drive it in reverse.

I found a very unlikely candidate for my N3 entry. Should be posted by the weekend.

I only got your 'Vette to go 178.8 mph on the top speed run, but it reached it before the turn, and was still pulling hard as it bounced of the limiter in 6th.

I was too lazy last night to convert the speeds into Kanadian Miles per Hour.

On a related note, I found out today I'll have plenty of time to judge the competition because my job ends in 2 weeks.
