Somebody hit the right door while it was parked in the friends yard, shame.
It also has oldschool opel seats that i was looking for.

Is that cute little hatch City Kadett, the RWD one? If it is so, I envy you. That car is a rival of Toyota Starlet KP-Series.. I feel sorry for the door. Some people just don't appreciate classics..:guilty:

You're lucky to find one in that good condition. our RWD city Kadetts have more paint than metal left..

edit: I spy Lada Niva there.. :D

Hehe,i know where is another one waiting for me,unfortunately wihtout papers so it's not registrable...

My friend gave me 3 Intra 5.5x13 wheels, gonna be useful for winter tires and spare.

About 7 meters of weld for now,but still less than it would need for the floors on the first one.

Well, with all the welding, the chassis should be much stiffer once it gets back on the road...

Right part of the trunk welded,a bit more to weld on the left part.
Also,cleared the front fender area.

Some of those panels look like their coated in concrete :s and are those the cars actual front shocks or just braces put in place temporarily?

Why,they are obviously shocks, hard to be sarcastic in foreign language.

 You caught us both out. I was just not sure what they were as the suspension looks very different to what Im used to seeing.
I thought it must have been a brace as it looks soo dirty, there was no spring and I swore I saw a weld actually the shock and I wasnt sure what the twists were. When you said wooden sticks I thought it must have been a decorative table leg with those twists etc... noob:lol:

Looking at it now I can see a hiding in spring there.

And in this picture is where I thought I saw a weld on the shock.

Dont worry I wont type anymore, just look at the pretty pictures to further prevent any embarrassment to myself or any other member trying to clarify what im saying....

Mah,i was just kidding, feel free to type, opinions are always good to know.
The front suspension on the car is a bit stupid,i already thought on converting to a coilover setup with pushrods, but, too much of conversion for now, let's see how it's going to perform like this first.

Hey, you're doing a pretty good job on replacing those panels. I sure don't know many people outside of real welders at work that would even bother trying that. I just hope you're cleaning the welds, sheetmetal, and the car itself very well with lacquer thinner or brake clean before you paint it. Those will take all the oil and moisture off the metal so rust will most likely never permeate under the paint, as long as the paint coating is good.
