I would really be impressed if PD could attain every Bowler Land Rover's ever built, from the Wildcat to the current Nemesis.

Sorry to bump, but im sick of these misconceptions towards the classification of SUVs.The term Sport Utlity Vehicle is the correct term for any wagon shape car with a high enough ground clearance,Eg.the Jeep Wrangler,Audi Q7,Subaru Outback,Chevy Surburban,Range Rover,Land Rover Defender and BMW X6 are all classified as SUVs. SUVs such as the the Jeep Wrangler,Chevy Suburban and the Land Rover Denfender are considered to be "true" SUVs in the sense that they are build on a "body on frame" or "truck baised" chassis.SUVs such as the Audi Q7,Surbaru outback,Range Rover(depsite common knowledge, and excluding the Sport model) and the BMW X6 are all technicly considered to be Crossover SUVs,or CUVs because they are build on a "unibody" or "car basied" chassi. There are a few types of SUVs that mix the two chassi types, having a partial "body on frame" and "unibody" construction, such as the Range Rover Sport,Land Rover Discovery, and the pre-2011 Jeep grand Cherokee, I would consider these to be "true" SUVs because of they are of a more rugged nature then crossovers. Also terms like "4x4" "off roader" "soft roader" and other terms are simply nicknames or slang used to describe a certain type of SUV.

Also as for misconceptions about the difference between AWD and 4WD,any system that can lock the torque split between the front and back axles are considered to be
4WD,and are either part-time or selectable 4wds systems or have a locking center diff.Weather or not they have low range is irrelivant.

I for one would like to see SUVs and Pick-Up Trucks in the game, and I fail to see how they are any less deserving to be in the game then any other class of car. Also sorry bumping and my bad spelling.

We already saw an BMW X6 on one of those ads with miniatures; which implies that SUVs, "fake" or "true" ones, will be on the game.
I think it's a great idea, as the goal is for the game to be a simulator, allowing us to try out any kind of car and then judging them according to our own standards. Even though many of them (SUVs) will be rubbish to drive on tracks, I'm sure it will be fun.
Sorry for the bad english.

That would be nice to have. I like the rallying side of GT, and if GT5 is as good as RBR, then i'll be happy. I played RBR so much. 👍

Id love to see how quick I could take a Lada Niva round in the snow, Things like the Range Rover hmm not so sure i don't think it fitting that a leather and wood clad school bus should be in but im all for pure offroaders

What are you guys talking about... SUVs, trucks, 4x4, etc are cars just like any other class of car and thus shoudl be included in gt5.
No need for all this hate and seperation of them. Do they suck for sealed roads, yes most do, but theres a variety of cars including not fast or crappy cars in most car games, doesn't mean they shouldn't be included.

Let's have an endurance race at the Ring for only Hummer H1s and H2s. To help show off the new dynamic graphics engine, PD could have all of the emissions start thinning the forest around the track. Plus, the fuel man on the pit crew can pass out from exhaustion in victory lane after having to refuel a huge H1 every lap for 24 hours.

Great idea there's only 1 drawback, I doubt any Hummer would make it round the track on a full tank, More likely to run out part way round :D

You guys do know the Hummer H2 has crusing range of about 310 miles right,so a hummer h2 would probably outlast most supercars seeing how they are just as bad on gas

You can't compare how long an H2 could last on a single tank of fuel if it coasted downhill on an interstate highway at 55mph all day to racing conditions on a curvy and hilly track like Nurburgring. Running all out and pitting every single lap for fuel would be a lot faster, and infinitely more fun.

Only because it has the gas tank from a tank. It only gets about 9mpg.

But in a race against the H1 and H2...sadly, I would guess the H2 would win simply because it's got a Chevy engine and was built for the road, whereas the H1 is designed for off-road and has whatever engine AMG decided to put in it. (Actually, I think they used a Chrysler engine).

The H2 was faster than the H1 on-road, but the H2 can never dream of going some of the places the H1 can.

The H1 has the advantage of being capable to run over the H2. Than, with the death of the H2's driver, the H1 would win.
But that's something we'll see only on "Carmageddon", not on GT5.
Rubbish post...

We'll have to tell them to put a petrol station half way round!

Well, when it's being driven economically, and it was a joke.

Haha are you suggesting multiple pit lanes, What a fantastic idea same could be said for battery filling stations for electric vehicles haha

Thats my point,SUVs have huge gas tanks, and bleieve it or not Hummers arn't the biggest gas guzzlers in the world, many hypecars get way worse mpgs, but they don't have very big gas tanks.Chances are that they would run dry long before the Hummer. Also the H1 uses a engines produced by General motors, and would be dominated by the 6.2L V8 found in the H2

You are right, the H1 had 5 Engine options with the smallest being a 5.7L Vortec V8 and the rest being 6.2-6.6L V8s.

But the H2 has a 6.0 or 6.2L Gasoline powered V8.

And, as I said, on the road, the H2 would kill the H1, but the H1 would win in an off-road competition. After all, the H2 is based off the Tahoe/Escalade platform, and we all know how off-road worthy the Escalade is.

The escalade may not be very good off road, but then again its only AWD.The Tahoe on the other hand is actually really good off road within its class, thanks to its solid axle and its auto locking rear diff.

Making suvs fast is one of the fundamental things wrong in society nowadays. Sure the dakar cars are fine since they were built for racing but an x5 on a race track? No, I hope not.
