OPM France next month cover

Amar has been noticeably quiet lately... ;)

Once again, another month is going to CRAWL. Gah, the torture...

Someone PM him .. I am scared he will rain down thunder on my @$$

I bet he is talking with KAZ right now discussing game info.. or new riddle.

We might just get a Big Announcement from our revered Croatian. And notice... so far, every source of new GT5 hints are from overseas, not America, the UK or Australia, where M$ seems to have a stranglehold on the gaming media. And by golly, that suits me fine. The media in these countries have all but been M$'s love slaves, putting the PS3 down almost every chance they had, so now they can starve for all I care.

Thanks for posting this up, Frank! That's a Toyota MR2 Spyder, though, not a Boxster.

Just to point out - I'm pretty sure the MR2 never had a "spyder" tag on it... all mk3 MR2's were soft tops (the odd one had a removable hard top)...

Im beginning to get extremely excited now.

If these previews appear in the next issue of OPM im actually beginning to wonder whether the Sep release date as suggested by play.com may become reality.

I probably am getting too excited and Dec might be a more realistic release date but what a kick in the teeth it would be for Turn 10 if GT5 is released in Sep.

It actually is known as the MR2 Spyder here in the United States. Doesn't look like the name ever made it across the pond, though.

Haha yeah, like the Mitsubishi Pajero is called Montero in Spanish speaking countries because Pajero means.... ahh look it up for yourself.

lmao @ the meaning of pajero.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the preview.
I've been trying not to think about GT5, but lately it's been impossible to do lol.

Wow, for now we know that next month two different magazines are going to talk about GT5. That are great news, I think it means that the release date it's near than expected.

Very funny the MR2 joke and the Mitsubishi Pajero. In Japan there is a Nissan called Moco and in spanish moco means snot.

Kaz himself did say that everything was going to be a surprise...

As talked about in other threads, a lot of people have been debating on whether a release of GT5 BEFORE GTpsp would be a good idea. Judging by two magazines supposedly having previews for GT5...yes it's good they're building hype, but some members have mentioned that a release of GT5 before October would take away a lot of momentum or sales for the GTpsp and PSP Go!. Most release date signs have pointed to December because many people were saying a full unveiling of GT5 at TGS would be the perfect time for the game because it's after or right around the time of the GTpsp release, and it would build hype for the holidays. I don't really have an opinion on this because I believe it could go both ways since GTpsp is obviously on a different platform, though it's supposed to be somewhat compatible with GT5; so a release of GT5 on or around the time of the GT PSP could be a good thing.

On the other hand, a release before October would probably destroy Forza's momentum and make them eat their words (I have nothing against the franchise itself, just the developers), even though it's on a different platform, and depending on the features, other people have also said that releasing it before Forza would be a good idea.

So based on these 2 advertisements, and what seems like imminent GT5 previews, what's everyone's opinion at this time on when GT5 SHOULD be released?

Me personally, since I don't have an X360, nor do I have a PSP and don't plan on getting one, I could take GT5 as early as possible. But that's just me.

Note that here in France, the MR2 is still named MR without the "2". Indeed, MR2 sounds like "merdeux" which means "********" :dopey:

Don't forget the Vauxhall Nova too - "No go"

I think it looks fake because its a real life picture and not a game.
Just goes to show how out of touch with reality some poeple have become after commenting on 2D trees and low texture and gamma radiation in games all day...

Anyways, it seems like next month will be a GT5 information blow out. Isn't another couple of magazines also having Gt5 as their cover story?

.
Regardless of the spyder tag, that's still a Toyota MR2...at least the ones that I'm familiar with (almost bought one myself some years ago) here in the states...as seen in the image below with identical side mirror & rear vent

If past sales are anything to go by, I think it would be effective for PD to release GT5 in December or 2010. GT4 dwarfed Forza in terms of copies sold anyway. February or March next year would be ideal. By that time, the GT Mobile hype will have settled down. It's all a matter of impatience for some fans though. 2010 is not too long a wait.

For me, the sooner the better:dopey:. Unless of course Kaz is making it better somehow!:sly:

I don't want it before december. That's right. I have patience. I waited more than 2 years I dont see why I couldnt wait another 5 to 7 months. I just want it to be astonishing, I wanna show Yamauchi and his team all the respect they deserve....and I want to see Greenwalt on his knees (the arrogant speech at the E3 was a complete TURN OFF)

Exactly, the longer the duration of the wait, the closer Yamauchi-San gets to perfection.

Nah, since he aknowledged it's as good as done, i would like to see it released around september/october, compete with forza 3 and update the game through the PSN, whatever needs to be polished or updated.

IF
  • Gran Turismo 5 is complete as far as features, including a complete Career Mode, body kits, livery editor, damage, weather, etc
  • GT5 has all the tracks we could possibly want on the Blu-ray, and polished to perfection
  • GT5 has a wonderful selection of cars
  • GT5 has a properly coded DLC structure, so that all downloads incorporate properly into the single player and online components
  • The game has a well endowed online mode, including a wealth of community oriented features
  • GT5 is as bug free as can be
Then release it at the end of September or beginning of October.

Oh come on guys I can´t hear this "the longer it takes the better it will be"... Where will that end? an 2013 release? or no wait,we can wait till 2020 then it will be sure better...

I hope the thing you said about the proper DLC platform is true and I hope that everything we get on release date is only half of the content of the full game.

Since they have been working this long on the game I expect this is the only GT we will see this generation...

Hopefully the developers will have us playing for several years.
