I use normal but only for this championship, otherwise as sim as possible with cockpit view. I must confess that normal view gives easier apex hitting. I don't use proximity markers.

Normal view (bumper cam) when racing for real and finding a proper setup for a car and of course map and list of drivers.
Offline and playing with friends I try to play as real as possible, inside view, w/ and w/o info (depends on the rooms) and with clutch if a car uses it too.
