Ill be there tonight, but I still think the Brera is a moms car

Tournaments begin tonight! We'll start off with the Brera Sky's at Eiger, continue with the Scuderia's at Rome and finish off with the Camaro SS RM at Monza. I think we'll do 7 laps at the first two and 6 laps at Monza (about 10-12 minutes per race). The lounge will open at 7pm EDT and we'll practice all the car/track combos. At 8pm we'll reset to Eiger and do 8 minutes of qualifying before starting the race. There will be a 5-6 minute break between each race and the final two races will start with reverse grids. Hope to see lots of you on track tonight!

We will drop kids off at Ski resort then go race some real cars. ;)

I too will be there.

If you aren't there. You are square. Don't be a four sided object with 90 degree corners.

Anyone catch the Mythbusters episode last where they tested square wheels?

The Champ lounge is open for pre-race practice. Qualifying for the first race will start at 8pm EST.

Pretty ugly racing tonight across the board. Not sure what the issue was but I've never seen so many questionable moves in one of our events. I guess when there aren't any points on the line people can forget there manners.

It was tough to race clean with all the pinballing and divebombing going on. I saw more than one guy wrecked on purpose, or so it appeared to me, lots of divebombing, guys put into the wall and no concessions made. Open lobby kind of stuff, not the kind of thing I expect from ORCA drivers:tdown:👎

Well, once again I seem to have missed the perfume. I am going to hop in and run a few laps if anyone would like to join.

I'm not going to put anybody on blast but 1 of our racers punted me into the wall going into the 1st Lessmo on Monza with no regards, then just rage quit. thanks friend I was in 3rd and catching the leaders on lap #2 then he wrecked me on purpose not the kind of racing I have come to expect from this group.

IF YOU CAN'T WIN WRECK SOMEONE WHO CAN!!!! THANKS AGAIN FRIEND

Last night's racing was far from the usual standard. I watched one of the replays back and a lot of the incidents look like one bump, and the other driver felt they had the right to knock the other one off the track. Quite a lot of intentional and non-intentional smacking around.

Patience was in short supply.

Last night was a little hectic. I know I hit a few drivers and it was accidental, I hope I didnt ruin anyones race. I got a hit a few times myself but I take all the credit for how I finished in each race. Next time everyone needs to be more careful and drive the car like youll have to give it back to your parents at the end of the race.

Yea the whole night was bad. Too much of people seeing if they can get away with stuff that they would never try in real life. If only GT5 had full damage. It's really not the first time we've had somebody punting, push passing, etc. but it was just really bad this time. People really need to be more patient. You're not going to win a race on the first lap, but you definitely can lose it.

After being bumped out of the way at Eiger, bumped and slammed into the wall at Rome, and then slide into and pushed out of the way at Monza, yup I deliberately slammed right into you. Even going back to the week before, you have never once passed me without bumping and pushing your way through. Had nothing to do with my ability or not to win. Had everything to do with being fed up with your style of racing.

If it was a deliberate takeout this isn't an excuse, but it's also not a good idea to throw stones when you live in a glass house Lefty. Take a boo at the Rome replay, after the chicane at the bottom of the hill. I think it was Trackbound you bumped into the wall and then just drove on by to the victory. Under GTPlanet rules, whether it was intentional or accidental, it calls for a concession on your part and I sure didn't see that.

Certainly not excused on my part, nor something I commend or have done in the past. This was a first. I have enjoyed good clean racing with both drivers that are slower and faster than me. Typically the drivers I am around are much faster than me and I have never had a problem with them. I am comfortable with my talent level and know where I stand with the talent of those around me. I came to a realization a long time ago with the core group that I have run with that wins are going to be few and far between. I am thrilled just to race with some of these guys for a couple of laps and settling in with a few other drivers that I am competitive with. Last night's incident had absolutely nothing to do with winning or position.

Alright, it's decision time. It's obvious to me, mainly through lack of attendance, that this format is not very popular. On top of that I realize there is a fatal flaw with this format: 3 short races with the final 2 being reverse grid leads to a lack of patience and bad decision making. Everyone wants to get to the front and when you only have 6 or 7 laps to do that from the back of the field, chaos ensues. Our last 3 or 4 events have witnessed questionable driving from almost everyone at some point (including myself). This can't be allowed to continue.

Effective immediately the Spec Racing Cup is officially closed and all remaining tournaments for this week are cancelled. It's time to take a break and re-think what we do and why we do it. GT Academy starts next week which would likely see a further decrease in attendance. Perhaps we all can use the Academy to brush up on our driving skills.

The obvious thing to me is that without points on the line people feel like they don't need to obey the rules because they can't be punished. It disappoints me to see this, but it doesn't surprise me. I'm going to spend the next month or so creating a new points racing format and figuring out a better way to make this work. It will likely be a bit of a departure from what we've done in the past, some people will like it and some won't, but we can't continue down our current path.

Not sure it's the lack of points (to be ducked in case of infringement). People who are still playing are probably getting closer together in skill, and that tends to make for fewer passing opportunities and, hence, more reckless attempts at passing. If you combine that with a circuit with walls - it generally result quite a bit of contact.

My track selection was part of the issue, for sure, but like you said I presumed by now we were probably at the skill level that we could handle it. During the solo races at just one track it wasn't as bad, but when we put all three tracks together in one night the results weren't desirable. Lesson learned for the future.

I think practice helped make the only one track a night work better.
We had a week and almost an hour before each race to get our cars in oder.
I didn't do many races at Rome, so I had very little practice in a car/track combo I hated. Just me brandon, I hate all GT500 cars, the mazda 787b... I like hard-to-drive cars but some cars just don't sit right with me.
The only race I was in at Rome I crashed into you and others and quite before I did anymore damage.
So when we ran a reverse grid last time, I wasn't looking forward to it.
I just couldn't time a pass or even keep pace.
I almost spun Track and I think I hit Sag badly. It was all a lack of car control, I'm normally a clean driver or try to be clean.
If I had more time to practice I would hope I would have had better control of car.

EDIT: Just noticed ORCA stands for "Online Racing Championship Associaton"

Thanks Carr, you just illustrated my point perfectly. I was trying to cram too much racing into a small time frame and it had undesirable results. Switching between 3 very different cars in one night probably led to some problems too. It was a good idea at the time, just didn't work out very well. I've learned my lesson.

there was very minimal contact in the first place but i did give him the position back thank you. then he hit me so i hit him, listen I'm getting sick of being nice and getting ****** in return so if someone hits me I will return the favor.

It's done Lucky, the series is closed and there won't be any more racing for people to crash each other out of.

When you say "anymore racing" Brandon, are you saying you are done with ORCA indefinitely, or just done with this particular format and something new is still in the works for the near future?
