I see pictors. Specifically new series pictors with two different color fonts on this inner name banner.

Sorry guys, the game booted me back to the XMB after we finished the race and then the game got hung when I tried to start it back up. I just shut it down after that.

The good news, we did a quick test of the qualifying system and everything still works as it did for the ORCA series. It started us all in the correct order. 👍

Fun night. Sans my two offs putting me out of the race. LoL

For those of you that were in attendance last night, what were your thoughts on la Sarthe? I did hit the rev-limiter once or twice down Mulsanne on the run up to the first chicane but only when I had a real good draft going. I was fairly close to the braking point when I hit the limiter too so it's not like we'd be bouncing off it down the whole straight.

Personally I think it was acceptable. When I knew I was going to hit the limiter I just backed off the throttle about 5-10%, still had hella speed going but prevented that sudden loss of momentum when you top out. I don't mind if we bounce of the limiter once or twice when we have a really good draft going (actually kinda helps to water down the exaggerated draft a bit), I just don't want us to be running down the whole straight and bouncing off the limiter/losing momentum. If it was any other track I'd probably bypass it but I'd really like to do the day-to-night-to-day race again. 👍

Any track you hit the limiter in the draft kills any chance two can work together and catch anyone. Why cause we are all maxed at speed. Not enough left to draft up.

However the track is fun.

HSR was a blast and not nearly used enough.

I don't think that was really the case at la Sarthe though because it's only the last bit of the first Mulsanne section that you hit the limiter. And pretty much right after you hit the limiter you're at the braking point, so for about 75-85% of that stretch two cars can work together to catch up. I was able to make up ground last night in a two-car pack a few times without problem, and for the other 2/3's of Mulsanne we didn't hit the limiter at all.

It is possible to hit the limiter on the run up to Indianapolis as well but I kinda see that as a good thing because that is a tricky turn to handle with that extra bit of steam. So tapping the limiter once kinda whoa's you up a bit and allows everyone to get through that fast right-hander a bit more safely. 👍

Revisit this conversation after we do more then 3 laps at the track. ;) hopefully you don't learn what I'm saying the hard way.

I get what you're saying, I'm just suggesting that it's fairly minimal with this car at this track. If you've been drafting down the straight (with our without a partner) you have more speed than the cars in front of you. So as you pass them and tap the limiter you drop to 10% faster than the lead cars instead of 15% faster......but you're still faster and can coast by them into the braking zone for the chicane. This is why I said that when I'm approaching the limiter I pull of the throttle just a little and maintain about 13% faster which is the better option because it doesn't hurt my momentum. (Percentages used for examples only, you're results may vary)

Basically, what I'm saying is that you don't have to hit the limiter if you don't want to. Just pull back on the throttle a smidgen as you approach it and you will fare much better. Skilled drivers that do this will have a small advantage over those who just keep their foot on the throttle.

Nothing is free! It's Fermented Friday, I've got some cold ones and I'm in the Champ lounge!

Gotta admit, of the tracks we ran tonight (la Sarthe, Spa, Indy Road) la Sarthe was by far my favorite and that's where the car felt/drove best. I was involved in a lot of drafting but only hit the limiter once so I don't think it's going to be anything detrimental. On the rest of the track the car is really awesome and we had some very clean/close racing. I'm gonna say that la Sarthe will fill the slot for the third race on the calendar. 👍

Idk, I had some weird framerate issues at la Sarthe yesterday, and my headphones were dropping connection in sync with framerate drops.
