If you cannot pass comfortably then it is probably best to wait until the long back straight I reckon.

ORS | GT Championship Season 1 | Podium Results

The results are in boys..

Drivers
1st Place - Oni_chan | 1069 points
2nd Place - redness-63 | 1066 points
3rd Place - TT-R_Toivo | 1047 points

Well done Red for putting in a superb drive to secure 2nd Place with only 3 points difference to first.

Toiv, bad luck on the dc as i was looking forward to a battle to the end with you. I have to say though mate you drove the wheels off that Aston Martin and in my eyes you are the winner of Season 10. Superb drive mate.

Teams
1st Place - Trans Tasman Racing | 1934 points
2nd Place - Viper Racing | 1903 points
3rd Place - Red Rota Racing | 1833 points

Congratulations to Trans Tasman Racing for taking home the Team Championship.

Congrats red on the win and Oni for the championship. Bad luck on the dropout Toivo.

I always hate the massive ring and this race was no exception.

After unexpectedly qualifying 3rd, I got off to a good start to grab 1st for 1 corner before red took off and I held back Rod.

Rod got his nose alongside at one point so I backed off as it was a tricky corner and didn't want to crash.

So back in 3rd I was being careful as 4th was far back but I dropped a wheel into the sand and came to a screeching halt across the track and fortunately just missed the wall, however the corner is blind and the pack of cars came by and massive T-bone. Being the first lap I called for a restart to see if it was possible, but no dice.

After limping back and got damage again the next lap, then managed 2 3 lap stints without damage until making another mistake on lap 9 and then just pause rolling until the end, making sure to get out of the way when cars were coming by (you may have seen me on the grass as you sped past).

If would be nice to see a post with the final points for each driver in the series (with the round dropped calculated). By my calculations, I just snagged cactass by something like 3 points for 10th (I think).

From the highs of winning last week at Fuji to the lows of last this week.

Forgot to change my gearing from qualifying so I was hitting the top of 7th at 285km/h which was not helping down the long straights, unfortunately Mik had a bit of damage to his rear, as he was trying to stay out of my way his car turned left into my path which sent me spearing into the wall, with massive damage i limped back. Pitted and crashed again for the next 4 laps and ended up in pit lane with a sore thumb after it got jammed in a nasty case of "Forcefeedbackonyofinger-itus".

Congrats to Oni, consistency wins again !

Despite the outcome, I was pretty happy with how my race had gone, up until what I'm about to get into.

First stint was on mediums, went kind of okay, I was lucky and avoided a few cars that had been in incidents. Drove quite well, but I did have an issue behind Jasr and Jol ( I think it was ) at a braking zone we concertinaed <- did I spell that right?? seems to pass my basic spell checker.

Anyway we bunched up suddenly under brakes, I hit the rear of Jasr's car, sorry if I caused you damage. I had 2 small red dots on my front wheels on the status indicator. But the car drove quite well, a little less front grip but it would go where I pointed it, a slight shake at high speed. Or was that just me :)

Drove my intended RM session, despite the minor handling issue, then got to put on the softs that I'd been saving all season. Car was driving great on them I could go in bold and take risks and still catch the car if I got my guess wrong. Halfway through that first lap and I see the msg that TTR-toivo had d/c-ed.

Oh I think "tovio has had a d/c! That means that the championship is -- ARRRGH!!" That's me, off the track into a wall. Damage to the left side of the car, 🤬 the green hell got me yelling a lot of blue language.

Limp back to the pits. Lost a lot of time, Put on the RH's, que the next problem, the RH's were terrible to drive on. I had made some suspension adjustments for N'ring, nothing too big I thought, but it made the RH's a nightmare. I had a couple of issues right at the start of the lap, then at the point where the track joins onto the Nordschliefe, I ran into the sand and hit the barrier, damaging the front of the car.

I just decided to bail out then, did not like the idea of limping the remaining 9/10ths of the lap being a rolling road-block and potentially wrecking someone else. Can I put in a vote here that the N'ring is light damage in future?

Anyway, I got to kick back and watch the race, enjoyed that.

Congrats to Oni for the Season title, also good to see the closeness of the top 3. Good driving all!!

Roll on ORS season 11.

Or how about not included at all in future haha

Personally, I like the track. Why? Because it's different, and more interesting than doing the same short boring tracks over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over...........
And it has the Day/Night cycle (the original did, before we picked, ha).
It's only downfall is that we race it as a sprint race, rather than an endurance, and the track penalises drivers who try to drive 10/10ths over the entire race. An interesting option (other than making the race longer) may have been to increase the tyre wear/fuel consumption, as this MAY have had the benefit of rewarding the more cautious drivers with less tyre wear and fewer pit stops, over driving fast and the inevitable crash and the long crawl home.
In summary, I got bitten just like a lot of other drivers, and had to endure the crawl home while hurling verball abuse at myself for a silly mistake, but I'd gladly do it again for the sheer challenge the track provides over a 50 lap race around the same boring clothes line.

Regards, Cac.

Get your votes in...

I would encourage people voting for the TVR to test it first on sports hard tyres before you drive it for 8 rounds lol

So I've been busy doing some diy work
Been building my own cockpit last few days. So far I've completed it just need find a car seat to bolt in. I have reverse mounted the pedals so like a real car also have taken the clutch spring out and swapped it with the accelerator spring more tension still adjusting to it and did a diy mod so brake spring has more tension. I have mounted the wheel so its directly infront of me not tilting up like a truck how they are standard. Seems to feel a lot better than the kitchen table.
Getting more sophisticated for the next season..

Thought you would vote option 1 mrT

I'd highly recommend you all test these cars out first on Sports Hard tyres before making your choice. Some of them are quite the handful.

I know its a bit late but just wanted to say well done Oni on taking the S10 trophy mate. You drove the Dodge well through out the season and capitalised on the tracks that you knew Dodge had the opportunity.

Great driving by Red and Toiv to round out the podium. We all knew that the Aston was the only car that would challenge Toiv and give the rest of us a fighting chance. He certainly did rise to the challenge.

Thanks again to the ORS CEO (Oni) and rest of the commitee (Jase and Cac) for once again managing to deliever such a great series. I certainly look forward to contributing next season. :sly:

On paper the TVR was also my 1st choice to go for as well but I will take note on advice and test the 3 options on Sports Hards before casting my vote.

Yeah I was wondering why guys were throwing votes in now. Give the cars a testing first, just a suggestion.

Congratulation Oni, well deserved champ.
Thankyou Oni, Jase & Cactass for running the show and also to everyone else for the great racing.

My McLaren MP4-12C setup.

RH -35/-20
SR 13.5/14.7
Ext 6/6
Com 5/5
ARB 3/4
Cam 2.0/1.5
Toe -0.20/-0.18

LSD 14/16/8

BB 5/8

Ballast 43kg @ +14

I ran most of the season with the ballast in a negative position(-24) which makes it easier to get on the power but creates more understeer, and only pushed it back for the final race.

Looking forward to next season :D

Preferences

1. Lotus Elise RM '96
2. Mazda RX-7 TC
3. TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM '00

Now having put those in my real #1 choice would be the Lotus Elise 111R RM '04. It has 80hp more, weighs 75kg more and feels very similar but has a much better gearbox and higher speed.

Regarding the votes for S11. I will give you all until Wednesday (19th June) to make your final decision. At the moment the favorites are the Lotus Elise RM '96 or TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM '00.

Cheers Jon for sharing your series setup. This is my setup for the majority of the season (softer setup for Nurb).

I should be around and I believe Cactass will be as well.

I was thinking to either use Oni's or Jasr's lounge tonight.
