Hey guys
Congratulations MrtAiTal Great win.
Your car was fast and you drove well.
My race went well but my 3 stop strategy probably wasn't the best strategy. Great battle with cac, mrt and myself for 17 laps. Pitted after 17 laps for hards then 30 for hards then 42 for mediums.
Pretty good race. l knew mrt would probably use the soft tire strategy but i wasn't expecting toivo too i thought he would save them for the nurb.

GREAT RACING GUYS.

I think toiv went the softs only cause of my position late in the race and to ensure he remains in front by the next round.

With the points how they are now minus everyones dropped worst round its going to be a 3 way battle for 1st overall in the championship! Nurb is the decider!

Toiv prob used them aswell due to fact of me giving him un drivable damage. However don't think toiv would have used softs for nurb hes to much of a alien at the nurb.

I got the isp to reset my net today. Also took my disc out and it was dirty so i cleaned it. Hoping this fixes things.

ORS GT | Final Round Announcement

The final track being the Nurburgring 24hr has been changed to the Nurburgring Type V due to the stress a 24 hour circuit causes on the PS3 with day/night plus 16 drivers. This change is to ensure everyone can race without getting disconnected or having lag/frame rate drops throughout the race.

As we all know the lap times around here are very long and trying to find enough time during qualifying to get a good position is difficult with only 30 minutes on the clock. Due to this qualifying for Round 10 on Sunday will be held at the Nurburgring GP/F.

Cheers,
Oni
ORS Committee

Hey

Would it be better to do qualifying at NURB GP/D so that people don't get confused come the race?

ORS GT | RACE 9 | STEWARDS REVIEW

Review notes:
MrTaital's Lap of 1.37.348 on L47 is legal and stands as the fastest lap of the Round 9 meet. 👍

Sincerely,

Jas
ORS Committee

Great photo man, once i got on the softs i spent 4 or 5 laps putting laps down so settle into a groove.

Love the little peak of the matte black helmet thanks to Simpson!

Very nice work there Oni, especially liked the new fastest lap graphic you introduced. You can really see in this vid how hard everyone has to work at Spa to keep the car on the track. Highlight for me was Jon's quick reactions under brakes to avoid running unto the back of Rod and Toiv's car control under pressure and under brakes with no ABS. Quite remarkable not to forget everyone racing in a fair and consistant manner.

Ok just a little official stewards business from me. Guys can I ask you going forward that ANY race incidents that require an investigation, no matter how trival; that you email me and Oni privately on GTP or via PSN.

Let me explain why this is important.

A situation has occurred at GVE round seven between Arie and Hats where I issued a caution to Arie based on my replay review. However, Arie posted on the forum, his review of the incident that occurred post race BUT I didn't read this. Having not seen this (which mentioned no intent to over take) rather intent to try and avoid a collision based on his circumstances.

Unfortunately, having not read his post, I could only go on the replay of the race itself and one drivers perspective rather than getting all driver's opinion / representation of the incident concerned.

Driver representations, like in any investigation, does have cause for consideration. It can effect the outcome of a ruling based on driver merit for example and to a degree, representations are taken in good faith balanced against the physical evidence available, as it does with my ruling here.

That's not to say you shouldn't continue to post your race review's. There entertaining , make for great reading and are an essential part of the race experience we all enjoy. Rather I just want to make sure you're all messaging me and Oni if there's a specific incident you'd like us to look at to ensure we don't miss anything.

For the Hats vs Arie incident by acknowledging these additional factors, I have now determined that Arie was not attempting an overly ambitious over taking maneuver, but rather attempting to avoid collision with Hatfield (and Oni), and as result of this additional information having being taken into consideration means Arie's cautionary drivers warning is removed and the incident is determined to be a racing incident with no specific caution to Arie applying here.

I'm calling it out because it's important to correct the record when ALL the facts in an incident have not been considered and to (hopefully) maintain a level of transparency in terms of how decisions are made which is certainly the case here.

My sincere apologies Arie and Hatfield for my incomplete assessment in this matter. For Arie specifically, I note you're very skilled competitor and observe from history, make every attempt to race in a fair and gentleman like manner, as is expected of, and, as all drivers generally do in this competition. In conclusion, it's not fair to pass judgement and issue a driver caution, where one is not warranted.

As you can imagine, incident investigations aren't a perfect science, hopefully as your Steward in residence, I'm getting them right more often than not. Please contact Oni directly if you have concerns about any judgements that have been made which you feel you may not have got a fair hearing on.

Sincerely,

Jas
ORS Committee.

I'll also go for the Mediums please.

Another great video replay you put together there Oni! You always have a knack for capturing all the action. The additional lap times add another nice touch. Really appreciate your efforts.

Thanks Jase for taking the time to re-assess the GV-E incident. As with all cases there will always be two sides to every case. Best thing that you do is provide that unbiased and independent view on the call. Hopefully drivers learn from these reviews to ensure that racing incidents are minimised.

You do a great job as official ORS steward and I can imagine it is not easy task to sort out all these reviews. Your rulings certainly regulate and maintain the high standards of driving that the ORS have come to expect.

Here are a few random photos that I just snapped from the last rounds race at Fuji:

Awesome photos there Arie.

The pre-race brief will be up tomorrow. Unfortunately i have my hands tied with some other ORS matters today. Sorry for the delay but i appreciate the fact participants have started getting their tyre choice in ahead of the briefing.

ORS GT | SEASON 1 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For the Finale we head to Germany for a 10 lap race around the most famous track in the world, Nurburgring Nordschleife Type V.

The ORS white line rule applies at all times during qualifying and racing. If you are found to be cutting corners or running wide consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS GT season 1. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding pit exit, When exiting the pits you must not cross the pit exit line when attempting to get onto the racing line. When exiting the pits you must remember that the car behind has right of way and give them room to enter turn 1.

If you do have an off be wary of the reduced grip level once you've rejoined the track. Also when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

You must ensure your car is set to the ORS GT Specifications as shown on page 1 before scrutineering begins. Once scrutineering has started you are prohibited from entering the tuning screen. Failure to comply will result in an immediate -15 point penalty each time you enter the tuning screen. Failing after qualifying/race scrutineering will incur a -25 point penalty.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for Monday night.

Oni_chan - 35kgs (1315kg)
mrtaital - 35kgs (1415kg)
TT-R_Toivo - 25kgs (1395kg)

Failure to comply can results in disqualification from the race to removal from the series.

Also I'd like remind everyone that the chat channel should only be used by stewards to call race restarts during a race.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by 12pm (Sydney time) today. Once your tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it.

Reminder that qualifying for the final round will be held at the Nurbugring GP/F.

Regards,

Oni
ORS Committee
