ORS Season Eight - Final Round
- Fastest Lap Reviews For Points -

Tier 3

Cac's lap of 2.21.612 on 23 is legal
(fast lap of the race)

Tier 2
Red's lap of 2.22.371 on 18 is legal

Tier 1
Oni's lap of 2.21.672 on 32 is legal

Well gents, I'd just like to echo a few of the recent comments. What a season it's been. Firstly congratulations again to Cac, Jol and Oni on their respective wins for the season - well driven guys and well deserved.

When the idea for a three tier series was being floated, we did debate at the times whether or not it would work out. Staggered starts, multiple car set-ups and a worrying concern that tyre wear was not what it should be - threw a lot of variables into the mix. Our CEO, determined as always to get it right, put in the hours to get things where they needed to be. The premise behind it all was to bring closer, more exciting racing between the tiers and across the field and I reckon we've certainly achieved that. So a big congratulation to Oni for innovating and producing something different (within the constraints of GT's online capabilities), that's really set a high water mark on GTP in my view.

I'd also like to give a shout out to our data master in residence - who's command of the one's and zero's, the spreadsheets and attention to detail to give us what must be some of the most comprehensive weekly race series information on GTP. Hats off to you Cactus.

Finally, I'd just like to give thanks to everyone that competed. As Oni said, ultimately the series is only as good as the folks who turn up week on week and you couldn't wish for a more competitive, talented yet considerate group of gents to race with. We've had virtually no notable incidents or infractions to speak of at all over the course of the series, despite some really tough, nail biting, edge of your seat racing at times- and it's been fascinating to watch everyone, (including our resident aliens - you know who you are) continue to get better over the course of Series Eight.

So thank you all again for a great series, it's been an absolute pleasure. Monday's grind is far more tolerable because I get to look forward to the night's racing activities with you good folks. Welcome those that are coming in new or returning. Looking forward to trading positions (or paint) with you all in our ORS Season Nine spectacular in the new year!

Jas

If we are running the S15 RM next as a filler, the specs I believe where, fully modified and then peeled back to 575pp. Is that right Oni?

That's right mate. Full details will be up tomorrow. But for those interested in next mondays race night the car is a fully tuned Nissan Silvia S15RM at 575pp.

Can I just add the OzCoMoBros still race on a Tuesday night.
It is a different theme event each week. This is a arrive and drive event (not ran by myself so I don't have full details) but normally we run 3, 15mins races starting from 9 pm
this week Spinner and Mr T joinned in, PM me or check out our forum for more details. Racing can be fun, can be frustrating too!

Here is Tuesday nights highlights for me...

This weeks cars were Jags and BMWs ran on 3 tiers made up by different tyres. Rod and I run Sports Hards, everyone else on Sports Mediums and a few on Sports Soft.

Sadly this week I got punted off 3 out of 4 times lol

Looking forward to this Oni...see you all on Monday :)

Your looking forward to it? I haven't driven these cars for ages and I now have a wheel and more consistency. This calls for a nipple rebrand !!

As these are cars we used in a season before the ORS was created you can find the series on GTP through the below link.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5513275#post5513275

As a tradition we also posted our setups at the end of each season. Those of you new to the ORS and these cars you can try some setups we created throughout that series in the above link.

Now to keep with tradition below is my setup i used in the Mazda RX-8 for Season 8.

Oni's Mazda RX-8 | 475BHP | 1085KGS

Suspension
Ride Height: -20/-17
Spring Rate: 13.8/11.4
Extensions: 7/7
Compression: 5/6
Anti-Roll: 3/4
Camber: 1.8/1.5
Toe Angle: -0.05/0.00

LSD
Initial: 10
Acceleration: 24
Braking: 8

Downforce: 0/18
Brakes: 6/4
Gears: Track dependant

Feedback is welcome but not required as everyone knows a setup is designed not for a car but for the driver. It may work for me but not for you.

If I'm all done iracing and still awake (5am start) on Monday night (and I can get in the lobby) I wouldn't mind joining you guys for this session. Hope to catch you guys then :)

Gents, just aheads up that all graphs are (I hope ) now complete and replays uploaded for ORS Season 8.

I would also like to say a big Thankyou to the organisers of the ORS Series, Oni and Jas, for setting up and running what I believe to be one of the most professional leagues on the internet, regardless of gaming system. And especially for putting up with the pestering coming from me regarding rules/typos/suggestions/missing-replays etc.

And finally, a big Thankyou to all my fellow drivers for their superb driving and sportmanship each week. Your involvement is what elevates this Series to the greatness that it is.

(PS. Can't make Monday's race due to my usual work clash.:grumpy:)

ORS | XMAS BREAK RACE | NISSAN S15RM

I remember the race we had in these around Grand Valley, if i remember rightly i was running 2nd or 3rd with Will and i think Bomber behind me, heading into the kink before turn 2 i stupidly unplugged my DS3 from the PS3 as i was happy with the charge time, little did i know that this resets the controller and i went flying off the end of the straight, rejoined losing 2 spots but a massive dint in the confidence.

Grand Valley and I have a score to settle.

Indeed you do Taital. So don't repeat the same mistake with your wheel or chair falling over. lol

Awesome to have you join us mate. You been on iracing far to long so i am expecting you to be handing us all a new one on Monday night.

Ah , my shift got changed to an afternoon. If its a short one , I'll make it for the first race , otherwise I don't get home until 10.30. Either way , I hope to catch up with you guys.

There will no a$$ whoopings , I can assure you ! I'm on a controller and way out of touch with GT5 :D

Congratulations to all the Tier winners!!! 👍

I know its a bit late but I also wanted to say what a fantastic season Oni, Jasr and Cac have put together. You guys really raise the bar with ORS in terms of standards and proffesionalism. The skills and ettiquite of all the drivers who compete on Monday's is really amazing. I am really happy to be able to be a part of it all.

My results haven't been the best but I feel that I am ever so slowly improving with more race practise and with each passing season. Eventually I hope to get quicker and more consistent fight for more points.

Had good fun last night and even had a few good race battles with the mid pack and had to laugh when Jasr thought Rod was driving at my wheel. :)

Just need to figure out how to keep that momentum going for a whole race. :dunce:

You've improved since I last raced you regularly Asuka. Good stuff mate 👍

Me ? Im flat out putting a lap together these days :D

3rd - jol_1 - 720pts

Great drives boys. Was a lot of fun last night. I myself got caught it a few to many incidents but all in all was great fun trying to make my way back through the field which proved to be very difficult due to the level everyone has reached now. I'd be lucky to pass 1 or 2 people the whole race if there was no incidents. So a big kudos to everyone as you have all come along way.

Hehe, was looking good for the night, managed to hold off toiv whilst holding my wide outside line at laguna seca. Then dropped a tyre off and spun to the inside wall. Pretty much set the tone for the night.

The pile up at Rome reverse at two separate times was the funniest time all night.

From what i remember with tuning this car you ignore 1st gear all together (make it really short and pull 2nd gear as close to 1st as possible). Treat 2nd as 1st gear and so on.
