ORS | SEASON 9 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For the final round we head to the "Green Hell" Nurburgring 24hr for an 8 lap race. The race will included day to night transition. This race will test a drivers setup, consistency and ability to keep in control. Damage for this race will be set to light.

The ORS white line rule applies at all times during qualifying and racing. If you are found to be cutting corners consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 9. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding pit exit around The Ring 24hr you cannot cross the pit exit line when exiting the pits. Please use common sense when you merge onto the racing line. Remember the car behind has right of way when you exit the pits. You may enter the pit at full speed without incurring a penalty.

If you do have an off be wary of the reduced grip level once you've rejoined the track. Also when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for Monday night.

Tier 1
TT-R_Toivo - 70kgs
GTP_JTV - 25kgs

Tier 2
rotamasta7 - 70kgs

Failure to comply can results in 1 race bans to removal from the series.

Regarding qualifying for this round. As the track has a very long out lap and lap time qualifying will not be split into 2x 15 minute sessions. It will be 1x 30 minute session. Both T1 and T2 will be qualifying at the same time.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by 11:59pm tonight. Once your tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it.

Regards,

Oni
ORS Committee

ORS | SEASON 9 | WRAP UP

Last night was the finale to season 9 and what a close action packed season it has been. First off i would like to thank everyone who participated in season 9 as without you all it wouldn't have been as fun as it was. There were ups and downs for a few drivers, some drivers struggled to get their head around the car while others absolutely nailed it. I'd like to give a special mention to Arie who showed race winning pace every race and managed to hold onto 3rd place in the overall championship. Congratulations mate and i hope to see the same pace next season. A big thanks to Glenn for all his effort with the graphs and loophole findings. Thanks again to Jase for helping with all the stewarding, proof reading and general back end duties.

Now onto the podium results for the Season 9 Championship.

Keep an eye out for Season 10 which will be announced soon.

Cheers,
Oni

Thanks Oni for your major efforts in organising and running such a high calibre ORS. Really appreaciate special mention also. Cheers to Glen and Jase for their supporting roles and work also.

I think the Camaro and I got on really quite well especially early in the season when I was (to my surprise) able to maintain the pace with the pack. I too am also hoping this will continue into next season. Unfortunately for me I wasn't able to maintain that for the last few races but I am very happy with my overall championship finally finishing in 3rd spot. Well done Toiv and Oni for taking 1st and 2nd spots!

For those who are interested here is the tune I was essentially running for the entire season:
Praiano's Tune - Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RM '69

Thanks to all the drivers who race on a regular basis. It really is great to be able to race guys who are both skilled, quick and respectful. Really looking forward to what Oni has in stored for us in Season 10.

I am planning on heading back to Ring to take some happy snaps so watch this thread.

Cheers,
Arie

Awesome shots there mate.. i like the subtle "Pro Racing" pick. haha.

Once again thanks for your hard work and yes Season 10 is now live so head on over there and read them rules.

Hey revheads

I had an awesome race at the nurb 24 on monday night , i had a race strategy that went to plan .
I would start on medium tires do 4 laps and then go on to soft tires and go to the finish and my strategy worked perfectly . I had an off on lap 3 that cost me a couple of seconds and a couple of oops moments but had a pretty much flawless race.
Well done to everyone on a great season 9.
Congratulations to toivo on winning the championship.
Congratulations to all the podium getters. Congratulations to oni for another great series .
Thank you to cactass and jasr for their hard work to make this series so enjoyable WELL DONE.
Congratulations to all the competitors for their good clean racing.

Great shots mate!!!

I forgot to say after the race...red I am sorry about the first few corners at the start, I parked my car in front of yours on the apex a few times by accident as I went in too hot, I tried to find a safe place to let you pass without oni jumping me too, im glad you found a spot to pass me safely later in the lap. :)

Thanks for posting your setups, its so interesting to see the different methods of tuning, and to see the people that try and make a tune out of what the physics should be and those who deal with what GT5 have created.
