8:30 race qualify starts until 9pm Do as many laps / settings as you want, however if you leave the track to change settings u forfeit your position and have to set a new lap time to qually, Take note before we start race what position you qualified in.. 9Pm we do a warmup lap carefully then line up on the grid. when last person is in the spot he will tell the person running it which will then write on the chat sayin what time we are taking off eg. 3minutes 11 , when it hits that you should be moving.

well thats from what i have been told and read here

Spot On! 👍

Once the last person is in position I will post a time up on the chat box and that is when we all take off! ;)
If you so happen to jump the start, no penalties will be applied so long as you gain no advantage/position!

Cheers, Xerx :)

Also, so you are all aware... At the conclusion of qualifying tonight I will reset the track to ensure we are starting in full wet conditions as intended! So everyone MUST know in what position they qualified prior to the track reset. :sly:

Finally, room is now open! :D

EDIT:
One final warning/clarification: If anyone is caught cutting the chicances (2nd in particular) penalties will be applied and you WILL be caught as most of the field watch the replay, as do I when I'm doing my photo highlight reel...
If you happen to un-intentionally cut a chicane then you must ensure that no position or time advantage is gained to avoid being served with a penalty of -20 Championship Points!

Sorry but I just can't continue in this championship anymore, no excuses or rage. I'm just not having fun racing this car anymore and this game is about fun for me so when the fun is taken out I can't pretend. I wish all the best to the current teams and drivers

Not ganna try convince you otherwise mate I know you have felt this way a long time now but will miss the battles we have on normal tracks lol

Now what a horrible start lol but it got better When me and stig had an amazing battle.... Oh then he had to go :(

It's ok I pushed on myself had a great tyre strat, chasing down spin... Oh! spin runs off into the sand! I..... Then I get dropped :(

Was having so much fun but spewing over end, not my best race tonight haha

I feel like a dick cause I ruined someone else's race before it even started. Definatly not my best night.

Sorry guys.

I didn't see xerx post the second start time and everyone took off and I thought wtf, that set the tone for my race really, I cut the first corner and stuffed it that same lap so justice was served I guess

Hi guys,
I had an enjoyable race... Too many mistakes (including two 10 second penalties) for my liking but nothing that was not entirely my own fault so I can't complain! :sly:

I will try and get photos done ASAP so everyone can have a look at the action although real-life may take over again as the house my partner and I have under contract moves ever closer to settlement! :D

For now though, the championshop standings table has been updated and given a new look to make it feel more... 'professional'...
New drivers have now replaced those who have withdrawn on the drivers list and a team points table has been included underneath the Wildcard drivers table! 👍

Disappointed to hear your dropping out mrtaital... But if your not enjoying something then it seems pointless to persist with it!

So, another spot has opened up if anyone knows someone who would be interested...?

Cheers, Xerx :)

EDIT:
Also, if someone still has the replays from the two Deep Forest Sprints would you be so kind as to watch them and let me know who set the fastest lap in each of the races as I am unsure... Best way to do it is just let the race play out and as the winner crosses the line for the last time, pause, enter live timing a look to see who has set the fastest lap! 👍 Cheers! ;)

Bit dissapointed I couldn't make it to the race last night.
I had a birthday dinner I'd forgotten about until the last minute :scared:
But, I should be there for the next one.
Hopefully nothing else unexpected happens, as that would be the 3rd race in a row I've had to leave/couldn't attend.
Catch you guys on the track,
Mike

everyone wants to give roota a good floggin .. O_o

Lol will, and taital is just leaving cuz he can't beat us, leave him man he hasnt got it in him
Lol :-P
lol rota.. lets see if taital takes the bait!

I think if I were in taitals shoes I would have no choice but to come back after those comments! ;)

Anyway, I have re-done the driver classifications table to fit in the new drivers to where they belong...

Fast Drivers: Run Mediums ONLY!
Xerx, Oni, Toivonen, Rusty, Mike, Waynz, Stig, Dilluzion, ANSquad

Medium Drivers: Run Mediums, ONE SET of Softs available from Lap 5!
Willco, Rota, Evan, Taital, Stubz

Slower Drivers: Start on Mediums, Softs infinitely available from Lap 5!
Mick, Spinner

As always, Wildcard drivers run with the 'Fast Driver' tyre restrictions.
As for Stubz I will need to check the replay of last nights race as he appeared to be turning quite consistently fast laps and may end up being in the 'Fast Drivers' group! 👍
ANSquad, I know you had a horror race last night but I do also know that you are more than capable of running with us up the front so as such your in the 'Fast Drivers' group also! :sly:

Cheers, Xerx :)

I seem to be only good at certain tracks like nurb gp/f, I can't drive cape ring to save my life so I won't be there.

Roota and myself are pretty similar in speed but I think I drive more erratically

Willco is faster then me, bad luck just happens to him.

Hey taital,

you and me are in the same position. We are not the fastest or slowest drivers, but we seem to be the unluckiest. Every race up until last night I've either crashed, had to pit second last lap or run out of gas.

You've had your share of bad luck, but it would a shame to see you pull the pin as I've had some good runs with you, rota and spinner. The racing doesn't always go your way, i know I've had my share of shockers, but stick to it ,I get just as much satisfaction from good close racing as a good result.

This car is not the easiest to set up but maybe you should go back to default and set it up for consistency. Making it lose makes for fast qualifying times but also makes it a handful on worn tyres. I've been using the same set up now for the last four races and it's very manageable. It not the fastest car in the pits but it's also not the slowest.

Stick to it mate.

Evan

I agree with Evan, the car is not the easiest to set up, and Taital and my problem is we cant setup cars for sh#t.
We discussed with Taital a few weeks ago if we could look at running a championship using a car from the recommended tab (eg calsonic gtr), where the driving comes down to driver ability, rather than ability to setup...
We could also put the tracks down to a vote? (eg we all vote for X amount of tracks and tracks with most votes is included in championship)
Dunno, I guess im just sad to see my ex leave.. it breaks my heart..

Hello. I am very interested in running with you guys. I believe the times suit me and I should be able to at least participate in every second race.
So please shoot me out a PM (with details) when a spot opens up or you run a new season and I would be glad to join. As long as it still runs at a suitable time. 👍

Yeah check it. Once I hit 2 laps behind I was cutting that 2nd chicain(?)
Although I felt like I was fairly quick in the dry, I just made a ******** of stupid mistakes. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to be cutting, I never did it when I was around other drivers or when battling for position.

Missing the old crew heaps. Oni , Lost , Mike , Rusty. It's not the same without you guys. And now Taital is leaving.....:(

I had a prety good race , mostly uneventful , just rotated at a decent pace and collected a few points at the end. That'll do me :)

Good job last night Waynz. I think we all know you have the pace to win one of these things , it almost came together for you. Pity X had you on tyres at the end , would have been a good battle to the finish. And of course well done again X , you are the man to beat. 👍

And Stubz , no we aren't supposed to cut at all .... even if we are laps down. Watching the replay I saw heaps of cuts going on. I'm guilty of it too..... but some drivers were clocking them up at an alarming rate. I lost count !

Roota , I stayed out of the sand. Well once in quali I went in , but that must have been the other green car you saw during the race.

lost save game data due to fiddling around with that ticket thing knew i shouldnt have bothered
thanks for the enzo X being a great help to me right now..

Glad it helps mate! My advice is raise the front suspension to 0 and leave everything else as is! That is the only difference between that one and the one I use on la Sarthe to earn some extra credits! 👍

For those who don't know... I have 6 road-going cars tuned up to race-spec performance with very basic tunes shared, they all need fine-tuning but they are at least in the ballpark...

Well done again X , you are the man to beat. 👍

Cheers mate!
I have only won 2 of the 6 races so far this season but I have been on the podium in all but one of them so the consistency has been key to the lead I have built up! :D

Now, onto a few other matters that need dealing with... :scared:

Firstly, as Spinner said, corner cutting was an issue in the last race, and it is not 'ok' even when you are laps down! :grumpy: So take this as a friendly warning Stubz, I can see that in your mind it made no difference and I do understand, however for example, if someone else had dramas and you caught them and subsequently overtook them, then you have gained time as a result and ultimately position also... We are all good drivers and are ALL capable of running the legal lines, I too cut a few times, mainly as the track dried and grip increased meaning I was turning in too early! 👎 I always tried my very best to turn out of the corner and avoid cutting but in some cases it just cant be done...

Secondly, Dilluzion please dont take this the wrong way but I have decided to disqualify your fastest lap as you did indeed substantially cut the first chicane on that lap. I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt but then I re-checked the lap in the timing screen and you gained over half a second from the cut and as a result your best legal time was not as fast as the fastest legal time set by Willco, so Will, congratulations mate you get the extra point this week! 👍

Now, onto the more general issue of corner cutting, I am not sure if everyone interpretted what I said at the start of the race correctly as Dilluzion said my last lap I cut a corner which I checked and did not! I did say at the start of the race, 2 wheels on the track at all times as always, however, I did also say that the 'track' comprised tarmac and ripple-strips (not concrete though!) in keeping with WRS rules and general racing rules... So to avoid any confusion in future races I have taken photos at each chicane around Monza which I will now post to show what is acceptable!

Monzav13.jpg

Monzav14.jpg

These are of the first chicane and as can be seen I have maintained at least 2 wheels on the 'track' at all times!

Monzav18.jpg

Monzav20.jpg

These are the second chicane and again I have maintained at least 2 wheels on the 'track'...

Monzav23.jpg

Monzav25.jpg

Finally, these are the third chicane and again, I have followed the rules! I did not bother to include the middle (right) turn in the third chicane as cutting over that puts you in the sand and nobody wants that anyway!...

Ok, so now all the no-so-fun 🤬 is taken care of I can move onto this weeks photos! :D

Again, we had alot going on in the first half which cooled off to a very restrained finish with most drivers separated by decent margins...

Round 5 (Monza) Highlight Reel - Photographed by X3rx3s44

Monzav2.jpg

Here we are at a wet, drying Monza all grided up and ready for a start in Round 5 of the championship!...
As we can see, Dilluzion was so excited to get going he had parked over the front of his starting box...

Monzav4.jpg

As we all make our way safely through the first chicane Myself and Waynz have got off to a good jump whilst the rest of the field jostle for position...

Monzav5.jpg

Here it is from another angle cutting out Myself and Waynz to get a better view of all the action in the first chicane...

Monzav6.jpg

Mick_C leads a three-way battle between Stubz, Rota and Spinner as everyone cautiously makes their way through a wet third chicane on the first lap...

Monzav7.jpg

Across the line at the end of the first lap and I had pulled out a ~2 second advantage over Waynz and Stig... Only to outbrake myself at the first chicane and run 'a little' wide!... :dunce: This gave Waynz and Stig the advantage and the chase was on! I was lucky to pull up in time to avoid the barriers (and damage)!

Monzav8.jpg

Here if you look closely to the right of shot you can see Stig replicating my mistake into the first chicane, unfortunately for Stig he did not escape damage and dropped back behind Waynz, Jol, Evan and Dilluzion (pictured) and a few others a bit further back just out of shot...

Monzav9.jpg

Here we have a recovering Stig battling with Rota, these two went at it hammer and tongs lap after lap, Stig was unable to build a gap putting Rota right in the heart of a great battle... In this shot, Rota is making an ambitious move around the outside of Stig in the third chicane... Amazingly, it pays off! :sly:

Monzav12.jpg

Dilluzion and Evan also had a very close battle going on for a number of laps, here we have Evan sending one down the inside of Dilluzion into the first chicane and pulling up beautifully for the apex of the turn...

Monzav17.jpg

As I had mentioned earlier, this was the battle of the race IMO, Stig and Rota, the two #8 cars not giving an inch! Here, Rota tries it on down into the second chicane and wisely gets out of it at the last minute when he realises he has not made it stick...

Monzav22.jpg

Another few laps go by and still Stig and Rota are fighting for the position, this time Rota makes it stick with a better run out of the second chicane and into the braking zone of the first 90 degree right hander at the bottom of the circuit...

Monzav24.jpg

Another little battle brews away as a recovering Dilluzion tags onto the back of his team-mate Spinner and looks for a way by into the second chicane...

Monzav27.jpg

Finally, this was the moment when the race was over, competitively speaking, for me as the result of an unfortunate mistake by Waynz on the exit of the first chicane which we are entering here... I had clawed back ~15 seconds in 8 laps ("You were eating into my lead like a fat kid on cupcakes..." - Waynz ) and had 4 left to run and was looking forward to Waynz showing his fighting spirit and pushing me all the way to the line... Sadly, he binned it on the exit of the chicane and got serious damage, leaving me able to relax and focus on simply keeping the Lexus on the black stuff until the flag... :D

So, there we have it for another week! As always, hope you like the shots and feedback is always welcome! Sorry about how long this post is... I know it is alot to get through but there were a few things I needed to discuss before I got onto the fun stuff with the photos...

Cheers, Xerx :)

Hey what happen to Oni haven't seen him in a while?

His PS3 has a disc reading problem . . . so sent back to Sony for repair. How long that takes, who knows???

Also he was hooked on another game and not spending much time in GT5 - I'll spare you the full details on that one :sly:

Sorry spin mate it must of been me lagging just before I got dropped that saw you go off into sand, still got me excited! Lol

Love the pics haha. Yeh I really enjoyed me and stigs battle, I think over the like 5 or 6 laps we only had one tiny bump, which wasy fault but I've never raced that close for that long haha was really fun :)

I wish I knew we could cut the corner that much! Would have been even up closer to the pack! Haha know the rules now tho :)

I cut it alot after awhile when i turned in to late and couldnt be botherd re pitting for damage was in last anyhow with no chance catching anyone so wasnt botherd wasnt going to catch anyone. i did that odd cut after lap 2 but was not intentional at all as was in race for positions! as you said re adjusting to the grip levels! however when that did happen i did back of the gas a lil to slow down.

Great shot of me and spinner now i see why we had that little bit contact as his line was way wide into entry and i had the exit with no where to go..sorry spinner i did back of plently time before hand just the line i had through thier was alot faster than yours. and i wasnt expecting you to take that line and be where we ended up

I said that x as your 2 wheels wernt on the tarmac was just on the ripple strip was only taking the piss anyway
i thought 2 wheels had to be on the tarmac not maximun on the ripples strip...

I said that x as your 2 wheels wernt on the tarmac was just on the ripple strip was only taking the piss anyway

Yeah mate, that's cool! 👍 Was not sure if you were taking the piss or not at the time... :nervous:
Just thought I would clarify the rules as from watching the replay I noticed alot of people steering well wide of the kerbs when I had said at the start they were legal and was not 100% sure if people understood what I was getting at...

At least now for future reference everyone will know what is and isn't legal! ;)
Just as a side note, I have run all the races with these rules in mind ever since day one of joining Oni's championships! It is the generally accepted rule with regard to racing online and certainly is stated here on GTP as the OLR Rules with regard to clean (legal) laps (refer to Section 16). :sly:

Cheers, Xerx :)

Hah yeah mate Nah i actually thought to wheels had to be on the ( black stuff ) which is tarmac and you werent on the tarmac you were up on the ripples on your right hand side as no race driver puts thier car like that in real racing. but now i know thats fine!!

Honestly i didnt notice i had cut that corner - so no worrys im happy with the outcome as it is unfair congrats to you will good stuff dude

But i definatly know that when i was Time trialing i did do a 38.6 on mediums withouth cutting it and 2 wheels on the tarmac because i studied it for the line i was taking into the 1st chicane mainly as thats my weakest point. \

as u said in the photos u got away with waynz first chicane not true i was infront of waynz before first corner i backed well of to keep it nice and clean without incident on cold tyres dont didnt wanna end up banged up and i went hard on the inside first corner first lap as was so many cars next to me didnt wanna loose my position holding my line and people crashing into me!! im not a hero on the first lap.

i felt like i should be driving aggressively and not being so nice as look where it got me dead bang smacking last while there driving aggro and forcing me off my line where i have the right to it and the position to be heading into the corner first without having to slow right down and loose time and get passed due to them being heros - next time if someone is not up fully on the inside im just going to turn into them, as not my fualt they should be yielding back as cant make the pass without damage and cleanly if you get damaged not my problem we can both have damage and be racing at the back you now know what im going to do, youve been warned so dont try it or your race will be ruined aswell thiers a hour of racing its not a sprint race:tup:👍👍

not trying to offend but thats how i see it peace out
