Yeah, that wasn't my preffered pic but the other one wasn't working, I'll have another go with it now. Okay, the one I have now is the one I wanted, do you think it's better? Or worse?

He won't smash Alguersuari, because if he's at Toro Rosso, it'll be Buemi as his team mate as Buemi is great friends with the guy who owns Toro Rosso and he'd never drop him.

Dan, other pic better.. and i dunno mate, algesuari has outdone buemi a fair bit, and also remember, its that idiot hemlut marko that pulls the strings, as he's head's up deitreks ass most of the time..
either way, ricciardo will do well, will be good to see another aussie out there.

X , according to my replays from Deep Forest:

Fastest laps:
Race 1: Wilco 1.08.214
Race 2: Waynz 1.08.121

Thanks Oni for clearing up the rules too. I wasn't comfortable running on the ripples ! Hope to see you on Monday night mate.

Yeah no problem Xerxs. If i was in your shoes i would have done the same. Sorry to have just dumped that race on to you like that. I am hoping to have my PS3 back tomorrow or Monday morning as it hasn't arrived today. Sony advised its ready and being sent back so fingers crossed.

The (recommended) series will run as per this one with the tyre handicap/rules as it works great and will included the much liked sprint races.

No worries mate, I was happy to try and help! Sorry that it did get a bit out of hand, I think that was more due to some peoples emotions boiling over moreso than the change of host but hey... Things could have been worse!

As Stig said, the connection held up really well! Which if I'm honest I was actually quite surprised by! I do hope however you are back in the drivers seat next Monday, would be a shame for you to put all this effort in and then be prevented from competing due to something beyond your control... 👎

As for running the OLR Rules for Monza I felt that due to the nature of the track it would be almost impossible to run any other system otherwise everyone would have been penalised at some point in the race! :indiff: As it was I did disqualify Dilluzion's fastest lap due to a cut... But it was substantial so I saw no other alternative... :scared:

Now on the new series, I love that we will be keeping the same tyre regulations! 👍 It is a great boost for the championships as it does bring the field closer together and provide for much more exciting racing! :D

Cheers for checking them Spinner, I will update the standings board accordingly!

Woo hoo!! thats 2 fastest laps now!!

Well done mate! 👍
You're on a roll! Keep up the good pace, like I said at the start of the season, I know you have it in you somewhere! :sly:

Cheers, Xerx :)

EDIT:
Championship Standings table has been updated to reflect the fastest laps from the Deep Forest Sprints! 👍
Cheers for confirming Spinner and congratulations Will & Waynz!

Hey Boys! I'm back. I'm glad to see everyone has vented there steam and ready to get back to racing again!!

Haha, I see once again Rota had a great battle; personally I think (and don't let this go to your head Rota) but you have to be one of the greatest racers in the field, your battle ethics and ability to know exactly where your car is, is genuinely amazing.;)👍 Thats why I think you have had probably the lions share of the best battles with other drivers in the series to date.

I'm looking forward to testing at Cape Ring, I'll be on...today...later today lol.
I'll see you Mike, Spinner and Rota on track for testing!:D
Rusty

EDIT: Will there be 2 races? If yes how many laps will we complete? Cheer's.

awww shucks! Haha cheers mate :)

On another note I will put up the detailed points ladder for the white knight hunter competition...

"no points earned yet"

Keep up the good work boys! And good luck hunting the one they call quest master oni

Missing the old crew heaps. Oni , Lost , Mike , Rusty. It's not the same without you guys. And now Taital is leaving.....:(

I had a prety good race , mostly uneventful , just rotated at a decent pace and collected a few points at the end. That'll do me :)

Good job last night Waynz. I think we all know you have the pace to win one of these things , it almost came together for you. Pity X had you on tyres at the end , would have been a good battle to the finish. And of course well done again X , you are the man to beat. 👍

And Stubz , no we aren't supposed to cut at all .... even if we are laps down. Watching the replay I saw heaps of cuts going on. I'm guilty of it too..... but some drivers were clocking them up at an alarming rate. I lost count !

Roota , I stayed out of the sand. Well once in quali I went in , but that must have been the other green car you saw during the race.

Cheers spinner, Ive Missed my playstation and talking smack to you fellas

As for that recommended car . shucks waste my tuning ability ha put me down for it tho
as X said awhile back i'm only quick cause i can tune ha ha

Ok i took some photo's last night on Monza in regards to cutting and not cutting.

AutodromoNazionaleMonza_4.jpg

This is cutting, like seriously your wheels aren't on the racing surface lol

AutodromoNazionaleMonza_5.jpg

I believe this is acceptable as your still on the racing line but still using the ripple strip as an assistance to turn better into the corner

AutodromoNazionaleMonza_1.jpg

Now this is the perfect ideal way of using the ripple strip

AutodromoNazionaleMonza_2.jpg

Random awesome photo i came across whilst doing the photo's last night

Now i'm not saying what i have posted here is what we have to go by, i will leave that upto the racing public but when working trackside the car has to have at least two wheels on the racing surface, if their outside racing line tyres are inside the ripple strip then it's seperate to the racing surface.

General rules are 3 laps of using such a cut warrants a disqualification of qualifying time or a subsequent equivelant time penalty to a drive through pit lane penalty (on average 20-40 seconds depending on the circuit).

Now I know we are just racing on a simulator but i come into these championship and races using real life racing rules such as if i believe i caused the incident i will wait until i let them back passed.

I cut the turn 1 and 2 chicance once during the race on Monza and i felt like crap doing it so i just decided to pull out considering the crap race i had on top of that.

Thanks for these photos Taital.. they show perfectly how to use the ripple strip according to the rules "2 wheels on the black stuff at all times". I'm sure everyone now understands the rules on what is a cut and what isn't.

@Taital - That last photo.. looks like someone dropped a can of red paint in your passenger seat. :P

@Lost - Good to have you back for the next season mate!

@Rusty - The race will follow the same sprint format as Deep Forest Raceway. 2 x 15-18 Lap races.

Thanks Oni!!;) I sort of figured it would be pretty much exactly the same as Deep Forest, just thought I better check.

Your right on it Taital, I totally agree with what you posted.

I do hope you know I was only stirring mate! 👍
I know very well that you can drive fast, it was just a little stab at the fact you are a better tuner than myself and we do similar times... :sly:

Also, glad to hear you will be making a comeback mate! I miss the battles our 'trio' had! And if Oni would get the 🤬 off that White Knight game and get back into the drivers seat we can once again have our battles! ;)

Cheers, Xerx :)

Nice example pictures taital!

Yeah no problem Xerx, i knew that thought i would bust out a comment , yeah agree seems alot different when we were practicing with oni not oni being quest master trying to free the princess...

Glad to hear you'll be around for the next series Lost 👍

As for the driving 'on V's off' track, if I understand right, there's also a white boundary line painted on the edge of the tarmac anyway. It goes all the way around the track on all tracks ( unless I am mistaken ). It's quite clear in taital's pictures.

So I've not really thought of it as '2 wheels on the black stuff' I think of it like having to keep a part of the car inside the 'side-line' of the track. If you know what I mean.

Oh its your b'day Mic!.. Well happy birthday!.. hope you have a good one..

and before you ask.. no we wont let you win the next race as a birthday present :P

That's probably the best way of looking at it in fact mate! 💡
For example, the exit of the third Monza chicane has a wide tarmac run-off which is not 'intended' to be used for anything other than safety and this can be shown by where the white line runs, so even by keeping all 4 wheels on the 'black stuff' you can still be completely over the white line and effectively outside the 'intended' track! 👍

Cheers, Xerx :)

Happy birthday Mick! :sly: Have a good one!
Seems everyone posted at the same time! Yours was the last post when I started typing this out!

Yeah I couldn't believe it when I took the pic, I thought coz it's topless perhaps when I got it sprayed the went above the tape lines

Tell me about it, He really has great awareness of what is going on around him. I had a 6-7 lap battle with him, I was on worn Mediums, and I think he was on a new set of softs and he was clearly faster than me but he kept his cool and tried to get the move done cleanly, he got it done once or twice but the toe enabled me to get back infront. When he hit the wall because of the toe I felt a little bad, I could have let him go through but oh well, it was still the most fun I've had to date in the series.

And for those looking forward to what the next season is.. to give you an hint.. it will be a series compromised from cars in the recommended list (so driver ability will play a big part rather then a drivers tune). Also it wont be 1 car. It will be a number of cars used in the series. More on that next time.

I like the sound of that, it could be great fun. I'm also not the best tuner in the field, I had only done drift tunes before I jumped into the championship, so this should really show who is a good driver and who is just an awesome tuner.

Hmmm I like the sound of the next series! I think it will be good to take tuning out of the picture for a while. Because I for one know how much tuning can help...theres is literally seconds to be gained in a good tune!

So boys; what do you call fast at Cape Ring South? Tell us your times!!!:D:tup:

Rusty

For me it's not so much the tune, you can make a fast car almost no matter what, but then it will probably be horrible on tyre wear. I could run a setup that is easily 3 tenths-5 tenths faster but the car has such bad oversteer that the tyres last half as long. Good for qualy, bad for a race.

As for the cape ring, I'm fairly sure the best I've managed so far was a 1:08.6 but that was on the 5th lap I did, and I've only done 1 test day so far. I'm looking to break the 1:07's, but I'm eager to know what Xerx's can do.

I know what you mean i think im probably one of the few that know how to tune aswell as you rusty
i think with this i will be mid pack as i rely on my tune to make the car react the way i want it , but in sayin that some people might be at an dis-advantage as they make the car feel they way they want.. will be very interesting
Looking forward to it to bring it down to the driver
GOOD STUFF ONI!!

Agreed 100% on the setup description Stig! 👍
I am the same, you can always go faster but it is ultimately at the expense of tyre wear and when your racing for an hour that must take priority over single lap pace!

As for Cape Ring, I am in the same boat as you, so far only driven one session with Rota and pulled a 1:08.063 vs Rota's 1:08.2xx... My tyre wear at that pace is good and I can consistently run mid 1:08s but I have also been up on every sector of my 1:08 flat so going off those splits so far my 'theoretical' best is 1:07.6xx IIRC...

One thing I have noted is that the tyre regulations will compress the field here moreso than Deep Forest I expect because to gain an extra .25 per lap you must give your tyres absolute hell and again going back to my earlier statement, the tyre wear must take ultimate priority over single lap pace! Especially if you aim to do each sprint on a single set of rubber!... :scared:

As a result, I believe we will have an extremely close-bunched field and should make for some great racing! :D I can't wait! ;)

Cheers, Xerx :)

This must be the only track where riding the kurbs isn't an advantage
:dunce:

This upcoming races will be won and lost at the last turn... such a bugger to nail every lap.. and haven't yet gone in with a huge toe :scared:

So boys; what do you call fast at Cape Ring South? Tell us your times!!!:D:tup:

My best time is a 1'08.031 (with a 1'07.7 possible), with such a huge last sector it's a long anxious wait to see if you have improved or not.
