Ok boys and girls its time for Round 3 details. As you know Round 3 will be 2 x 26 lap races in the night. The tyre grade rule does not apply however the start on qualifying tyre rule still applies for these 2 race rounds. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Good news everybody,
Earlier this week, after Monday
decided to change ISP. Had a gut full of lag and getting DCd.
Got home tonight and did a speed test.
Went from 1.5mbps to 7mbps best thing, old plan with the phone bundled in was over $100 per month, now the new plan with phone bundled $80. Fn happy days

Hey guys, I was informed today that I went up a level at work, which is good, but it also means that I'm now on a rotating roster, which is bad.
I checked my roster for the next 2 months and I'm working almost every Monday night, so unfortunately I'm going to have to resign from this series.
On the plus side, I've decided to upgrade to this next week...
...as my '95 Suzuki Swift, AKA 'Suzuki Slow', is slowly falling apart.
I suppose working every single weekend for 4 months paid off eventually.
I'll still keep an eye on the forums, and possibly join in a future series if there's a spot and if I can get Monday nights off.

Will, really nice work man - I've got Vegas and I know how tricky / time consuming it can be splicing all the clips, making it all work on the timeline in one neat package..what was the second backing track - is that from GT4?
The sync at the start was pro and great collection of clips to highlight the progression through race...+1 Spin that random shot at the end with the lost pit crew member just capped it off nicely! haha

I am guessing / assuming that guys have waited until the weekend as they want to spend more time getting their shots. So finding a big chunk of time during the week is a little more difficult.
That's what I figure anyway.
This is only the first week of it, so if the deadline needs moving to Sunday or something, by all means let us know.

Photo Comp - Round 2
Not as many entries as I'd have thought there'd be. But we'll stick with it and see how we go as the weeks progress. When guys see how it all works hopefully there'll be more entries.
It's only the first week and it's still finding it's feet. When they first opened Disneyland half of the rides didn't work, when they closed WallyWorld for maintenance a family used a gun to force the security guard to run the rides and rollercoasters for them. The gun turned out to only be a BB gun, but still the pellet could lodge under the skin and cause a serious infection. Guess who watched Vacation the other night.

Okay votes are coming in for the photo comp.
I'm getting some by PM, others are putting their votes in a thread post. I've gotten slightly more PM votes than the votes in the thread. That's okay if it's done that way, having some of the votes via PM keeps the result unknown until the final count. I figure that's good to have so that guys won't vote a certain way when they see a trend developing. I don't want to make a rule that you've got to vote via PM, I think there's a thing where you're not be able to do it if you're using Ipad or a phone to access GTPlanet.
As far as the final result: Do you want an answer before tonight's race?? I'm actually starting work at 4:00 pm today, so with all else to do with getting ready I would have to close the voting at something like 3:30. Which seems a bit early.
Or: I can be home and have the final count posted about the time you guys will finish tonight's race.
To explain: I had kind of thought that having a theme each week would work well if you knew it before the race. So for example if the theme was "close battling" and then during the race you find yourself in a close battle for several laps. THEN as you're doing it you could make a mental note of laps 27-31 is the bit where I was doing some close battling and I'll find some great shots there.
So that way the photo comp would have a closer tie to what you're doing as you race. Add an extra level to it.
But I guess if you find the theme a day later, you'll still remember back to: there was that bit where I was close battling with . . .
So that would work, plus also the theme isn't always going to be specific to a type of "race moment". If you get what I mean.
Hey and also (this is first week of the comp so still working out how to best do it) do you want a full break down of the votes. Or just have the winner's name declared ??

Hey Mick , just some quick feedback from me FWIW. I reckon leave the announcement till tonight after the race. Sounds like a good time to do it. I reckon its good that there have been more PM votes , makes it more of a surprise.

I'm for either no count, or MrT's Total Votes with % or "X" votes to the winner.
Anyone reading the complete forum would know who posted what, but i'm more in favour of no one even knowing that much info, as that way people will vote on the photo, and not the personality who took it.
The winning photo's author could be announced at the time the winner is announced as an extra surprise!
As long as people only vote once, I don't see any issue with author's voting which ever way they choose. After all, if everyone submits a photo, who's going to vote? (*to avoid this issue, I have not voted)

So quite a big win. Seems that the use of a dramatic angle won in the end.
Also on Oni's suggestion the weekly winner will also have the honor of having that photo used in the banner artwork in the OP (main post of the series) for that week. Which is a nice addition.

On to some of the recent feedback. Also thanks for the feedback, good to have.
- It is going to be inevitable that we will know who posted what picture, as it'll be in the thread. Unless we were to do some secret comp entry submission, but that all sounds complicated. There's a bunch of photomode comps run on GTPlanet in the photomode section, and they all have the submissions and who did it all out in the open. If you want to know who posted what, its just a matter of scrolling back to see who put it up. If you want me to put the name next to the submission I can. Let me know.
Also with the way I did the clickable thumbnails for this round I hosted them and the full-size on the one image host and to make it easier for me I had the forum member's name in the file name. Just to make it easy for myself. So there's another way to tell.
- Another point raised was how much of the vote data to reveal. Well you can see what I've done. List the winner's amount, just that. If it was really close I might say that one of the others was close but not say which.
- As far as people who are in the comp voting, we want as many of you to vote, so we will use a Gentlemen's agreement that you vote for someone other than yourself. I will amend the main photo comp post to mention this. I figure if someone doesn't know of the rule and did vote for themselves, I'd send a PM pointing out that they should re-consider. Easy done.
