To everyone the ORS qualifying rules have now been added to implement a new qualifying system. Please see page 1 and familiarize yourself with them.

Obviously a bit of "F1 fever" crept in overnight. ;)

Surprised you haven't thought about introducing an F1 tyre compound limit per race weekend as well. eg. Only 2 sets of any 1 compound. 💡

Now there's some tyre strategy to think about! :nervous:

PitWindow.png

Pit lane opens at the end of lap 5 for any tyre grade change and closes with 5 laps to go for your final tyre grade change. You cannot change to any other tyre grade until the end of lap 5.

Note: If you receive damage on lap 1-4 that needs to be repaired via pits you CANNOT change to any other tyre grade until end of lap 5. You must stay on your chosen qualifying tyre.

Example; You receive damage on lap 3 and need to pit. You must stay on your chosen qualifying tyre.

All drivers start the race on their chosen qualifying tyre.

The subtle changes you notice when you actually read the rules! :sly:

Bit of a bummer if I burst in the door at 8.50pm *, fire up the PS3 and get myself into "race mode". Start from back of the grid I guess , not that different to usual haha !

* On that note , not sure if I can make Mondays qualifier due to being on one of those late shifts. Will be right for Tues / Wed though :)

Tues - Weds is fine Spinner. As per usual if i am not online im sure Jase or MrT will watch you do your qualifier.

I agree it will suck for those that join the room with 5-10mins left of qualifying but they should be there by 8:30 like alot of other drivers. Sometimes work/life/partner commitments get in the way which is understandable but ifs not always fair for those that turned up early.

At the end of the day if someone does arrive after 8:50 they might want to start on hards as they are starting at the back anyway. Slight change to their pit strategy but shouldn't cause to much drama.

FYI: The photo comp winner from the final round of the ORS GT300 has been named.

Refer to that thread.

Awesome Vid Mic, totally forgot about that from Prologue Days!

Epic assortment is right! Four potential weather influenced rounds, this is going to get tricky set-up wise. :boggled::P

Cheers Oni for hosting the qualifier last night! The 5 lap qualifier format worked really well.

I agree there were some amazing times put in. Especially Mr Rusty's effort. No wonder he is defending champ. Hope you have that caravan full of ballast ready for him :sly:

Looking forward to Round 1 at the Nurburgring GP/F track.

Nice video editing skills by Jasr Productions! I'm sure there will be plenty of HD action replays coming our way.

Another great qualifying session last night. I am just after 1 more drivers time but pretty much know which tier that driver would be in. The current wildcards will go off their season 6 tier otherwise be allocated to tier 3.

Tier 1
OnlineGT
Oni_chan
jol_1
TORC_Waynz
lost-on-drugz

Tier 2
Jasr73
Rod_AUS
Rotamasta7

Tier 3
Cactass
Spinner_660
gtp_jtv90069
evan1080
asuka611
velster
DaphaneDog
mrtaital

Wildcards
Tier 1
TT-R_Toiv

Tier 2
willco69

Tier 3
moon95g
Mic_C

Throughout the season if i believe/find a driver is to fast for their tier they will be upgraded to the next tier (except for Rusty who gets a caravan of weight added).

Now onto the business of teams. After much thought and a bit of lap time checking i have decided teams can be decided by the drivers. HOWEVER there are limits.

Each team consists of a 3 driver limit.
- No more than 1 tier 1 driver
- No more than 2 tier 2 drivers
- No more than 3 tier 3 drivers

As it is up to the drivers you can choose to fly solo, have a 2 driver team or if the team budget allows it then a 3 driver team.

Team names are encouraged. Once you have a team, team colour and name sorted let me know and ill post it up in the teams section.

Yeessssss!!!!! I made to tier 2!!! :dopey:

Already feel like a win!

BTW, in the same line of being upgraded in case you are too quick for that tier, can you be downgraded if you got lucky on the qualify?

Look forward for the race next week

Cheers All

Hey Oni, can you post the lap times of qualifying for reference

If you click on the main banner on the 1st post it will link to the championship spreadsheet. There is a tab at the bottom (top if on phone) called Series Qualifier. Just click on that and you can see everyones fastest times.

Yeah thats right mate. If i see someone struggling in their tier i may move them down a tier. Moving down a tier is a lot stricter then moving up.

There is also a Cac-Graph(TM) of the results in the "Fastest Laps" link for the Voyeurs who prefer to look at pictures, and not read the articles. :sly:

I've gone from tier 1 to tier 3, holy crap haha

Missing rear grip flyers have gone up around Tokyo, I think my Garth Tander moment on lap 1 cost my grip to jump off whilst they had the chance,

Hey everyone, just going to throw up a little teaser for an upcoming team announcement.

This is the teams theme song.
