The pits are always open Rod, only changing from one compound to another (e.g. Hard to Soft) is not allowed in the first 5 laps and last 5 laps. You were fine as long as you stayed with the same compound.

uhmmm...so that is how it works then :banghead: lol

Well, will keep that in mind for the next ones! lol

During a practice run, Rusty demonstrates to Cac the definition of giving fellow competitiors racing room (and never giving anything more than you have to)! lol

"Anymore's a waste Cac!" R*

Is that a kind way of saying I had a bad race lol ;)
Definitely not, just as I was going through the laps taking photo's...I noticed that trying to get a shot of you and another driver together was difficult...you seemed to spend most of the race in clean air. Which isn't a bad thing...I raced by myself alot this race aswell, helps you keep focused and crank out fast clean laps!:D

Hey guys

Looked like a great race last night, wish i could make it. Team Stealth is looking to be at full strength next week and will try to keep those citrus boys in check.

looked like a good race for Rod until the last few laps so that is promising for the rest of the season, my first goal will be to keep up with him

How was the new quli system?, really looking forward to it.

Hey guys,

Awesome shots there Cac and Rusty. Ekk, is the rain coming to Suzzy?:nervous:

Thanks for a great race last night all. Mine was comprised of a few self-made frustrations. After getting on some sort of pace for qualy, I threw it away on L1 by cutting to close to the wall on the final turn with Rota in hot pursuit, causing right front damage. Battled on from there for the next five laps, losing touch with the lead pack and making a few additional unforced errors (car is a real handful with damage) and dropping more positions.

In the middle part of the race, tried like all hell to recover some points for the team and was sitting ok in P7 before the final pit stop, where I forgot the splash of fuel to get home. :dunce: 1/3 of the way through lap 41 and the fuel cut out mid corners causing stability issues and I threw it in the sand. Crawled around for an additional pit stop, but just as I got near the pits Rusty blasted past and the race counter started, so no fuel for me :irked: and lap 42 was done at 80 Kph.

Congrats to Rusty for the win, Toiv for 2nd and Cac for an excellent 3rd as well as Team UYR for grabbing a big bunch of points, despite my randomness

In terms of official business, if there are any race issues anyone wants investigated, please let Oni, Mr T or myself know by PM, in saying this just want to add thanks to everyone for a clean and fair race. Nice job all.

Also, will be throwing together a race highlight vid for your viewing amusement this week. If anyone has piece of footage they would like me to include, (i.e, check out the amazing drift I did on Lap 24 etc or I was battling like a madman with Rota and Cac on L13 and 14) please let me know and I'll make sure I cut it in.

Cheers,
Jas

Just for the record, Toiv came 2nd, Me 3rd, and Ruta 4th. If Toiv is not on your replay, you may want to download my uploaded one. :sly:

Gents,

The Cac-Graphs(TM) for ORS Season 7, Race 1, are complete. (refer to Page #1, Post #2, for links)

(Something for my fellow competitors to note:- GT5 appears to award position/points according to where you are on the track at the end of the rundown timer. This means that if you are 1 or more laps behind the leader, and will not finish the lap/race before the timer runs out, then getting in front of a fellow competitor who is in a similar position as the timer hits zero, will have GT5 give you the higher finishing position and points. Never know when those extra points might win you a championship.) :sly:

Cheers Cac!

I have updated the original OP to included Lost Cause team name. Also after seeing how close a few T3 drivers got to a podium i have added an extra incentive.

Bonus Points for Tier 3 drivers
Additional points are given to T3 drivers if they manage to arrive on the podium in any race.

1st = 3 points
2nd = 2 points
3rd = 1 point

I'm currently a privateer and my team name is arriving shortly, waiting for the registered abn and business cards to arrive before I announce it.

Hey Guys,

It was great to take part in my first official ORS race on Monday. Thanks for the opportunity. Even though I finished close to last I still had a really enjoyable time. I can't believe such a long race goes so quickly. Look forward to learning and improving my driving in the hope to slowly climb the ranks.

Oh my major rookie error was to accidently put a mix of RS/RM which forced me back into the pits the very next lap. Its all about learning from your mistakes.

Well done to all the podium finishes!!! I'm amazed how you guys can drive so quick and so consistantly. Its obvious that is the key combo to be with the leaders.

Cactass, I love your work on the graphs! Keep up the good work.

Rusty, Really great shots in your photo summary! Oh look like I will have to re-spray my car from Matte Black to Matte Blue as my car is being confused with Team E-Coli!?

Jase, I'm looking forward to the official Race 1 video highlights. Of course in Full HD and a splash of lighting and trademark special effects.

For the record, Team Stealth are working towards a Team Promo Video which will hopefully be ready for release sooner rather than later.

Here are a couple of images that I'd like to share inline with the Photocomp theme.

In & around the 1st Corner : Team Up Your Rear Racing Living up to their Name!

I wonder how it feels to have 3 large pink GT's up your rear!?

Cool photos there Asuka. I bet john was feeling the pressure with UYR right behind ready to strike!. Must say he handled it well for a few laps.

SERIES REVIEW

After much thought i have decided that the current tyre regulations are not quite working as i had expected. While the tyre regulations do work to a degree and make for exciting racing. The tyre strategies are not that varied. Therefore i will be adjusting the tyre regulations to ensure more diverse strategies are being used.

Don't worry to much regarding compounds. There will still be the 3 sets of compounds so keep practicing as per normal for race 2.

Details will be live and effective by Friday night at the latest.

great pics Arie, Not real testing yet for round two for me...come down with Man Flu...hope i can pull through it!

Good stuff Asuka. I reckon I'd feel more than a little intimidated with 3 massive pink things coming fromm behind ! :scared:

Did some wet testing last night and the car is pretty manageable in all but soaking wet conditions. At 100% wet , it would be a very , very long night behind the wheel. Heres to moderate weather conditions in Japan come Monday !

I will confess...I struggled Monday...
Then it wouldn't release me from the pits...!!!!???? :grumpy:
Rod span in front of me, causing me some big red wheels !!!!
(Man - my wheel went bezerk trying to drive round with damage)
...but...by far the most bizarre incident all night...was to be rear-ended, just after the pit entrance...by some ghost-like pink Cactass !!!!! :ouch:
...MORE ******* red wheels !!!!!

I know it's the wrong corner...but do I win a reward for this !!!!! :sly:
Definately some real in-corner action going on here :)

The one and only Rusty ;) I guess you must use it quite a lot to find it out lol

Hey Asuka, it's great to hear you really enjoyed the race even though you didn't finish aswell as you would have hoped. That kind of' 'I'll have fun no matter what' attitude is admirable mate.;)👍
I'm convinced that anyone that joins the ORS will get faster! Being willing to race guys that are faster than you is also a great way to get faster.:)
Oh my major rookie error was to accidently put a mix of RS/RM which forced me back into the pits the very next lap. Its all about learning from your mistakes.
Ahh thats not a rookie error mate, a couple of the guys have done that before accidentally. 'Its all about learning from your mistakes.'
Soo true Asuka...and perhaps the errors of others too!:D

Rusty, Really great shots in your photo summary! Oh look like I will have to re-spray my car from Matte Black to Matte Blue as my car is being confused with Team E-Coli!?
Thanks for teh compliments and...Oops! Sorry mate, what was I thinking?:odd: Matte black is as Stealth as it gets! ...I obviously need to take another look at teams on page 1.:guilty:
The one and only Rusty ;) I guess you must use it quite a lot to find it out lol
Haha lol...I can't believe I got it right!👍...or perhaps ---> Is more appropriate hehe.
I don't even have one car painted in it...I just buy a lot of Car's for there paint chips.(what else do you do when you get to 20mil credits?) I will set about finding a car to paint that colour now.:D

To officially list the theme for this week (bit late, sorry):

Photocomp Theme for ORS Season 7- Round 1!

"Action from in and around turn 1"

- - - - -

For those new to the series, perhaps unfamilar with the photocomp. The regs are posted on page 1 of this thread (post 18)

It's all for fun, so no heavy rules, just to bring something extra to the post race picture show here on the ORS thread.

PS: Tip of the hat to Mr taital who's original picture I just used for the new photocomp theme banner.

Sorry for that D.Dog. I've had a check of my replay, and as usual with lag, I'm no where near you at that time. Mind you, my replay does show you slowing dramaticly at this point for no obvious reason.

It's a large lag spike as can be seen here...(that's me on the main straight -left)

7601814328_cabe239cee_h_d.jpg

I'd be interested in someone else checking their version of the replay, to see if they also see the lag occuring. That way we may be able to discover if the lag is from my end, or only at your end D.Dog.

The lap in question is D.Dog's lap 17. Anyone else able to confirm the lag spike?

Just watched D.Dog's lap 17 and seen Cactass get a crazy lag spike. On my screen it showed you hit the pit wall in the apex of the corner and the car dies then suddenly you warp back to the future style through the steel barriers leaving skid marks through them to the other side onto the main straight. Took a picture of it (ill send it via PSN to you Cac).

Shows you suffered heavy front right tyre damage. While you didn't hit D.Dog in my video but he definitely got hit by you as his car suddenly jolts (probably from the shock wave you pulled going through time/space and the steel barriers. Didn't give him damage but could clearly tell he got some major damage from it.

Apart from that 1 lap you was smooth as butter like everyone else on my replay. So obviously a lag spike occurred on your end during that one lap.

I thought I would share this video so you can put some faces to names:ill:

Awesome video Vel, thanks for sharing. Looks like you lads had a fun night, three set-ups going at once! Great idea doing a night like that. 👍 :) Going to have to dig deep to come up with something entertaining for Round 1.

Tyre Regulations Update
The tyre limits for each compound are;

Racing Softs = 2 Sets
Racing Mediums = 3 Sets
Racing Hards = 4 Sets

Your qualifying and race start tyre count as 1 used set

Here is an example:
Driver A qualifies and starts on racing softs
Driver A now has 1xRS, 3xRM & 4xRH to use in the race

Driver B qualifies and starts on racing mediums
Driver B now has 2xRS, 2xRM & 4xRH to use in the race
In the event a driver receives damage during set changes i have allowed a buffer to combat this. If you receive damage on lap 1-3 of your new set of tyres then it will not count as a used set if you need to pit to fix damage. You may stay on that same compound. If you receive damage from lap 4 onwards and pit to fix the damage then that tyre will count as a used set.

Any questions or concerns let me know ASAP as these regulations are effective immediately and implemented from Race 2 onwards.
