Osama Bin Laden is dead.

I hate somebody who doesnt care about anything or anyone but themselves. They belong outside of normal society not as president. IN a perfect world that is.

Then you must hate 99% of politician's.. they're just in it for themselves. Unfortunately, the only people who really care about the people/party they are representing is the annoying extremists..

Back on topic: WOO!!!

What a horrible speech from Obama for such an important occasion. It went from "Al Qaeda hurt us really badly, boo hoo" to "I personally am responsible for everything" to "America does what it wants where it wants" WTH? None of that works.

How about a little more focus on our military, a little more focus on the message that we want to send, a little more focus on the bigger picture... terrible speech.

Also... awesome that we finally got him.

This fascination with death is somewhat disturbing. I'm glad justice has been served, but this mob at the White House and on Facebook and Twitter isn't normal.

You'd never be satisfied with anything he does. Thankfully, most people aren't so blinded with such disdain for the President - especially at a moment like this.

It's amazing how this is being used to revitalize his political standing when everything else is falling apart.

It's not disdain for the President. It's the policy and the attitude.

A friend of mine posted something like that on FB. I am not too thrilled about a death of anyone though this is big news and I wonder what is going to happen next.

Good speech, IMO. Delivering info which was much desired and leaving a little room for questions. These questions will be answered as more info is delivered but remaining calm and keeping our composure is key.

What's going to happen is someone who is just as ruthless as him is going to take his place and announce on Al Jazeera that he plans revenge.

We have an election tomorrow up here in Canuckistan. Our PM is using this to get a flurry of support before tomorrow, saying things like "This is why we're in Afghanistan", taking shots at the NDP (socialists) who want to leave Afghanistan ASAP. He's said "it doesn't end the threat of international terrorism", and trying to use it to whip up support that his party will help end it, unlike the sissy Liberals.

EDIT: On Obama's speech: I thought it was a little narcissistic myself. "I" "I" "I" the whole time.

EDIT2: Oh my god 4chan

Seeing the terrain where he was hidding out, I'm amazed it was pulled off. Look what our military had to deal with.

Oh, and the president's speach was terrible. No respect to those that executed it.

Now, would will the Government have done if they caught him alive?

I doubt he'd ever have gone alive. :sly:
They probably would have hung him or water boarded him first. lol

Most of the infrastructure that lead to this was Bush's.

Well, I knew what to expect when I switched, out of curiosity, from CNN to Fox News for a few minutes. Sure enough, it was "Bush", "Bush", "Bush", "Bush".... Sure, the whole "let's go after Bin Laden" thing got going under Bush and all, but it wasn't worthy of so much discussion. It was just a way of throwing more spotlight and adoration in the direction of a former President affiliated with the right party. CNN was discussing the details about what has happened thus far and what is going on now, and then I switched to Fox and it was all about a former President just for the sake of it.

It’s not an Obama victory or a bush infrastructure victory it’s an American victory, which we needed

Although im not an american. I'd love to see those paradise people being killed first-hand by their own enemy. Thank you, Barack Obama.

What part of the infrastructure? The billions spent in Iraq? :D

What made it possible was cooperation between Pakistani and US operatives on the ground, as well as good intelligence. If anything, it is a triumph for the US Intelligence services... a sort of vindication for their inability to stop 9/11 or to find Bin Laden for the past ten years.

RE: The speech: I kind of felt that the whole "Hey, I authorized the whole thing, man..." part of Obama's speech was a bit heavy... I would have rewritten it simply as "An operation by American operatives..." and left it at that, instead of highlighting how he had personally greenlit the whole thing.
