With the inclusion of IRL and NASCAR how do you think PD should balance the number of ovals compared to the number of road courses?

I think you need a representation of each type of oval, other than that as many road courses as possible.

I'm sorry but ovals are extremely boring. Honestly, there's no need for sleeping pills.. if you're having trouble sleeping take a few laps around an oval course and you'll be nodding off in no time.

on top of that there's really no challenge.

I like it if the ovals have race circuit variations, like Daytona and Indianapolis. Then we get a large number of ovals with a large number of unique race circuits as well. Win/win!

I'd rather have a few ovals and a lot of road courses. However, having played a few NASCAR games in my time, I can appreciate that not all ovals are equal, so they need a good representation.

No challenge eh? I take it you've never played a decent NASCAR or Indy Car game then? It's a whole different strategy compared to F1 and normal track racing that's for sure, but done properly, it can be very challenging to keep your car strategically positioned on the track.

There will probably be at least 3 real ones already -Daytona, Indy and Motegi - and one fake - Test Course - so I think we already have enough. I wouldn't mind one or two more to represent different types of ovals but otherwise I think we have enough.
I'd rather hope for a good amount of lengthy rally stages for WRC or a better array of famous real race circuits that are still missing.

Read first line of my sig please.

I could quite honestly vote for zero ovals. They're all the same, and all boring to me. I'll gladly take NASCAR/IRL cars and drive them elsewhere though.

why would you need any more then just a couple.

big one for the test course and a realistic one for all the american races.

There's too many good ovals so one or two wouldn't suffice, alot of 1.5 mile ovals may seem similar but all have different surfaces, banking and the corners aren't always the same layout as well.

10 ovals I think is the minimum they need, or else there is little point on the IRL/NASCAR licenses, and I think you could easily select 10 ovals that have different characteristics. And I mean proper US based ovals...

And, sorry to say this, but I think anyone who utters anything like "all ovals are the same" have, at best, little knowledge or experience of them, or - at worst, are idiots.

More then just NASCARs use ovals though.

Oval racing bores me to no end, and I don't care whether the cars are NASCAR, NASCAR trucks, or Indy cars. Going around in circles makes for a bit of a snooze fest, especially when it comes to actually playing them in a game. And when it comes to a game there really isn't much of a challenge to playing ovals (I'm sure real life is different). 3 or 4 oval tracks are plenty.

I've grown accustom to the indy track so they might aswell include it's oval, aswell as daytona. And then perhaps on other one that people like, not tht i've ever heard of them. But lots and lots of proper circuits.

Nobody seems to complain about F1 cars or tracks, despite that being crushingly boring to watch 95% of the time.

Well, this is a concern of mine, I have come to love NASCAR over the past 4 years and I'm glad that PD are having a go, I'll also defend NASCAR as a proper form of motorsport, however, there is a fairly good chance that PD will not do it justice. I imagine they'll easily miss the subtleties of high speed oval racing. Also PD have never accuratley modelled a racing championship before - whatever the series, they always follow the same structure, the same rules, the same points, the same format etc. etc. etc. - which is blatently inaccurate.

... if they don't include a representative selection of ovals, there really is no point in the NASCAR license at all, and those haters - who may have been pleasently suprised, will just have to endure racing the same ovals all the time, and will probably come to respect NASCAR even less.

The only oval i could do with it the new Ford Focus RS. The rest can be circuits. But the Daytona & Indy are enough. Once done one oval iv done them all.

Once they include the infield of said oval..(think most of them have) I'd be ok.. i definitely like the California speedway infiels
