Lots of really good non-GTP racers in this event.

Shame so few GTP members don't enjoy the GTR, as for me it's a very rewarding challenge!

Not sure why but Bollox keeps using 649pp.

Is the car actually faster like this, as Thanos uses 649pp also!

Very irritating as it means I've got to play catch up...

I'm gonna join the race here in 10 minutes... It's been a while since I've last raced though.

For us who are not as fast as you, we have to battle against each other during each race. The great thing was that it was clean racing.

watch out horde - he's getting faster:sly:

Also thanks for the great racing on sunday...you guys are super quick.
As for the massive accident that I caused coming into turn 1 at 200mph - sorry to the whole GTLMSquad for taking them out!:guilty:

I just saw the fastest time ever in daytona!!!! How about a friend of mine doing....... 8.55!!!! the funniest part is yet to come loool! you guys ready 4 the lap time??? ok so its 1.44.832!!! by thanos_GTLMsquad :)👍 any comments? lol

That total time is damn slow considering they're dipping into the 44's. I've done a 8:56 with lap time only in the mid 46's, starting from the front that is. Knowing thanos he was probably cutting the grass :dopey:

I just had the privilege of watching Tizzlaa and JoeNinety both do a 8:57 race. That was awesome!

Thanks for the great racing again tonight (except for FUK_IH8_CHEATS who is the biggest cheat I've had the misfortune of meeting on the track.) Well done again Tizzlaaa and JoeNinety for that 8:57 race. It was amazing to watch from behind.

yea that was some good racing, we could definately go faster though!!

yea that particular person is an absolute joke and is in no way associated with anyone from NZ

The 1:44.8 of Thanos is of course done with a little bit of cutting. imo as long you stay with 2 wheels on the curbs its allright... Dont know how much he cutted but a 1:44.8 is brilliant whatsoever. Especially if he did it without slipstream. I managed to drive 1:45.2 by using slipstream of a ghost in my last lap and laststraight otherwise it was just a .5 or .6

I only managed a 1.49.xxx laptime with the Ferrari California. :nervous:
To all drivers using Rear-Wheel-Drive cars on this event, what was your fastest laptime ? And using what car ?

Cheers. :)

What's his best total race time? If he has supposedly run a 1:44.8 in free air he should be capable of roughly a 8:50 or less total race time if starting from first, putting in ONLY consistant mid 45's. Yet no one has claimed to run anywhere near a 8:50, at least that I know of. Even FAK who is one of the fastest in the world hasn't gotten anywhere near a 8:50 total time or less...at least that I'm aware of. Thats why I question the integrity of Thanos 1:44.8 lap time, especially coming from him.

I'm still waiting for my PAL disc to arrive so I can witness what is going on first hand :dopey:

Dude the 1.44 lap was his best lap doesnt mean he was constantly doing 1.44. And dont forget that thanos is also one of the best on the globe:). When u get the disc lets see if u can keep up:)

Funny, when I can see Thanos I can keep up (even without slip).

But when he's 9-10 seconds up the road, he pulls away about 1second through the bus-stop haha!

He's certaintly fast, but he's not ''that'' fast.

Guys

Please do not double (or triple post), it is not permitted here at GT Planet. If you need to add more to a post and no one has posted after you then edit your post. Do not post again, it makes the board look a mess and its a pain in the backside to clear up.

I've merged the offending posts on this occation, but please do not do this again.

Thanks

Scaff

I can keep up with him too and own some but... hes getting faster by the day! i think he just has a better setup then we do lol

Where did you get that from? I never said consistant 44's. :dopey: I said if he runs a consistant mid 45 his race time with an ideal 48.xxx first lap would be at 8:50 or so, starting from first that is. Since you say he fairly achieved a 1:44.8xx, he should be more than capable of consistantly putting in a mid 45 lap time. Yet NO ONE AFAIK has achieved anywhere near a 8:50 or below...not even FAK or solarsystems. Nor have they achieved a 44.xxx lap in free air with at least 2 wheels on the road at all times.

Also, Thanos IMO isn't one of the top tier of drivers. Yes, he is very good, but top 10 IFTC material like FAK? No, IMHO. I can't see anyone but a driver in the top 10 of the IFTC being capable of a clean 44 second lap time, if it is even possible to do CLEANLY...that being the key word. I don't have much respect for Thanos through my experiences either, so why would I believe something so outlandish coming from him lol. Especially considering that in the past he was no faster than me, and now he is all of sudden putting in lap times 1.5 seconds faster, while being over a half second faster than any other time recorded by some of the elite. I'd say you're a bit naive to believe some of the crap he is spewing. I'm sure having everyone believe he is capable of a 44.xx lap time feeds his ego quite nicely lol

Ok Scaff ill try to dont give u a lot of work lol, but offending posts?!

Sorry o mr. correct timeattack07gt, but 1st im not that naive (i can send u a picture if u want) and 2nd online racing and doing timetrial are very diferente things! Thats why at IFTC do 50s and 60s in the ranking and online i go with any driver in that top 10. By the way i use a pad:)

Thanos? That guy ran my chunky PP600 Art Morrison off the road yesterday. I don't know how you go fast doing that. :grumpy:

Edit: If I didn't agree to the GTPlanet race conduct rules, I'd jump in my GT-R and drive it up his...well you get the picture.

LOL @ horde!!

You did it again!

Also, I've been up against you a few times and can't say I've got anything spectacular to report back with. To be honest, I only noticed your name because you often praise your own driving quite openly on here.

I first noticed Thanos because he was deliberately entering our 03/18/33/48 events a while back at Suzuka in a GTLM, when it was designed to be a non-GTLM event. Other drivers on here have gained respect for being fast, but mostly for being clean, polite and sporting to the very best of their knowledge. I'll stick my neck out and say I'm not one of those drivers. And if I'm not, Thanos certaintly isn't.

Quite the opposite infact.

I really wish PD didnt relax the penalty system for races. Why they didnt keep it the same as free run and hand out at least 4 second penalties is beyond me. The way it is now race times and lap times quoted from racing mean nothing.

What does a picture showing his lap time do for the validity of his lap, you need video proof to back your buddy up. So in the end you're still naive for thinking a picture of his lap time proves anything.

That's great you use a pad, I do to. What's your point? It's about as pointless as your sig saying you are the "fastest Mine's BNR34 in the globe :sly: " Whatever you say...your ego reminds me of Thanos :yuck:

I guess it's my turn...no double posting in this forum either. :dunce:

I totally agree with you. Why there is no short cut penalty at the chicane is beyond me. Especially considering they're throwing up dust clouds as they cut across the track. There needs to be some type of deterrent.

LOL @ horde!!

I totally share your sentiments when it comes to Thanos. I've had some pretty horrible experiences with him in the past. :ouch: AFAIC, he is a two faced driver who puts on a show (drives fairly & cleanly) just to make a particular person/group happy, but when he gets the chance, will cheat like all hell to come out on top if there are to be little or no repercussions.

^^^ LOL

Don't do that! haha! He will end up deliberately running you off the road multiple races in a row, waiting on the side of the road just to do the same thing over and over again, just to prove the point that you don't want to mess with him lol. Btw, I've been through that with him lol.

Hi all
Could i have some feed back regarding the "Bus Stop".
I try and race to the guide lines set down by GTP - which states "two wheels on track at all times."
As i race with full track view i don't see where the tires are placed - but i can hear the tires running across the ripple strips.
This still produces a cloud of dust as two wheels are in the grass - is this classed as cheating/cutting?

Dust is kicked up at real circuits. It's not considered cheating in my opinion.

As long as you're not intentionally putting 4 wheels off of the circuit, I think that's fine. Free practise tends to be a good indicator of whether your lap is clean or not!
