No one knows much about the American version and what it will have. It should have new additions like the 2player garage races, as for new cars, you'll have to wait and see.

As for the 2 Vauxhalls, considering the context of the sentence it's in, it's saying Vauxhall is added with 2 dream cars, not 2 new dream cars. So I will put 100 pounds (virtual of course ) down as that being the Calibra and Astra DTM cars being re-badged Vauxhalls.

I think Australia is aswell. Finally, we get the better version of a game, its about fricken time too. We always get shunted when it comes to games, but finally it was the NTSC countries getting shunted. Sorry if this annoys you NTSC people, but i think pissing afew foreigners off is worth the games updates.

sorry to be a wet blanket but nobody should get their hopes up - there is NOTHING on the SCEE site which indicates or mentions that 2P garages and a/b spec pit swaps are gonna be included in the PAL release - this is a hopeful and non-malicious rumuor, born of hope but it ain't gonna happen. IF someone can prove me wrong, and provide an SCEE link which confirms these two hopes, then I will be both apologetic and extrememly happy but I am afraid this is just another hoax thread mixing truths with "I want's"

Some info about the Optimization of GT4 for the PAL version:

The game is optimised for PAL because it is full speed, full screen with the high refresh rate of a PAL TV at 50hz but with the maximum number of lines and resolution that a PAL TV supports.

An NTSC screen is 240 lines so the image is lower quality. A PAL screen is 256 lines, so the cars and tracks look better.

Because the game is optimised for PAL - it is 50 frames per second and 256 lines in full PAL resolution.

It does not need a 50/60 switch because the PAL version is optimised to work in PAL.

A 50/60 switch is normally put in when the PAL version is non-optimised.

The whole physics engine and crucially the speed of the cars - is rebuilt for PAL so that all together the PAL version will be the highest quality version of the game.


Extra Features for PAL:

- 2 player split-screen VS play using own memory cards, players' own garage ()

- When making a pit-stop you can now change from A Spec to B Spec or the opposite. ()

- Jack Knife Lee remix of Kasabian "Reason is Treason" has been remixed into Dolby 5.1 and used in a recut intro movie, which still features the Opera music opening sequence.

- Icons have been added such as "next licence test" to make navigation easier

- The map of GTWorld has been modified to make European cars easier to find.

- Ability to import data from GT4: Prologue - instantly clear first two licence test catgories / GT3 import a maximum of 100,000 credits (credits changed to Euro system)

- European units of measurement for power, speed and torque (MPH, KMH, BHP, PS etc)

- Additional artwork for opening up courses and stylistic enhancements throughout

- Replays now show car name/ BHP figure/ tyre setup (amar212s' comment: I see this as a great way to find out opponent's HP in races of certain championship, just by looking the "race preview" video. Great addition.)

- European music tracks set as default , but all others from American or Japanese version of the game are available.

- Vauxhall included as seperate manufacturer with 2 dream race cars

- 12 Extra cars added as listed above.

It's an internal newsletter within SCEE... he got it from a contact he has working for SCEE...

I believe him as he's not come out with anything incorrect so far in the past...

Well, our gloating over our 'slightly' earlier release date is now at an end!
Feb 22 in the US and Canada. (Good news for anyone who's thinking of importing...like me!)👍

Does anyone know if the 2 player update includes the missing single screen replay and saving the replay???, I can't see there being one without the other but after seeing the things left out in the original NTSC version nothing suprises me : | !. Anyway that's great news, normally all we get to show for the PAL version is prettier graphics and 10 less frames : ) this time I think those ten less frames are going to save us from the infamous screen shudder. Excellent : )

Edit:! does that mean the Australian version might include the missing cars left out at the last minute like the Mazda/Holden HJ/X/Z rotary thing from the 70's and the thought to be included K mart Commodore V8 Supercar? ? ? ? ? I wonder.....

The news says, the add 2 dreamcars!
So there is the word "add" -> that means we get two additional cars
Then we have the word "dreamcars" -> since GT3 and GTconcept we all know that this stands for race modified cars that might look this way in reality, like the RX7 LM oder Subaru LM!

so maybe we get a VX220 LM, lol^^
or much better:
a Vectra SRI LM that looks like one of the 2004 DTM cars, yeehah!

It seems odd that now we have an ice racing track in GT4 - they haven't included the Opel Tigra ice racer from GT2! - then again, now we have the Vas Vegas drag strip we also don't get the HKS drag cars from GT2 either!

As for the "hidden cars" They supposed NOT to be in! DUH! That's why they aren't in GT4! doh...
As for the cars which aren't really in GT4, and which is a shame:
Ford GT40 road car (the older road car), but I think there are enough GT40's in the game now... So why bother.

BMW 328Ci, there are better ones in now, as the 328Ci, was bad, and for the only BMW, BMW unworthy, in GT3...

The only car, I think is too bad, it isnt in GT4: the Toyota GT-One road car. I guess they forgot to put it in hahahaha. Too bad.

My congratulations to all the people who emailed SCEE to express their views on the ommissions. Garage battles are back! All these other tidbits sound great but 2player garage battle is the best thing that could of happened. 6player LAN memory card battles would be awesome and saving (full screen) replays to memory card (or stick) would make it near perfect!

I hadnt been back here for a while since hearing of the ommissions but now I hear of this news I am so chuffed to be ready to buy GT4 again! Thanks guys, we made a difference! 👍 👍 👍
